Weaveworld adaptation gets a new writer – A small screen adaptation of Clive Barker’s ambitious fantasy novel Weaveworld is still alive and kicking over at the CW. The network has been looking to bring the challenging tale to television since last year – when Jack Kenny produced a script that never made it into production. Kenny has now been replaced by Josh Stolberg – whose previous genre credits include Piranha 3D and the Sorority Row remake. Deadline reports The CW has tapped Joel Stolberg as the new writer of its Weaveworld TV show project. The fantasy drama is an adaptation of Clive Barker's 1987 novel of the same name. Stolberg will executive produce with Barker and Angela Mancuso, for CBS TV Studios.The network originally developed Weaveworld last season with Jack Kenny writing. According to /Film, a TV series adaptation of Clive Barker's 1987 dark fantasy novel, Weaveworld, is in development at The CW. Barker is attached as an executive producer for the adaptation, which is set to be penned and produced by Jack Kenny (Warehouse 13).

The series is already lined up to be different from the source material, with the following synopsis teased:

"In the TV adaptation, an app designer teams up with a young pastry chef who has just discovered that she is destined to be guardian of a mythological realm that can be accessed through a portal in an old Savannah mansion. The CW has found another project to add to its ever-growing stable of shows – Weaveworld, a 1987 horror/fantasy novel by Clive Barker, is currently in development for a TV adaptation.

Barker will serve as an executive producer for the series, with Warehouse 13’s Jack Kenny writing the scripts (as well as joining Barker as an exec producer).

A film or TV adaptation for Weaveworld has been touted for some time, but until now it's only been adapted in an Image Comics graphic novel. The sheer scale of the property - and the special effects it would entail - has often been cited as a stumbling block. 5.8 Stalag 14th Virginia

There are now two episodes remaining in the run of Falling Skies, and true to form, we've spent the last two instalments mucking about in a Rio Bravo last redoubt military encampment where the commanding officer is running amok and governing by fear while allowing the soldiers to do whatever they like in the name of keeping folks together. Granted, this group seems a bit more together than the underground survivors of Day Of The Dead or the hospital from the fifth season of The Walking Dead, but there's not a whole lot of difference between the zombie survival and the alien survival scenario, except the aliens are less of an omnipresent threat and more of a military force to be avoided until...

Recently, TNT delivered the new, official synopsis/spoilers for their upcoming "Falling Skies" episode 8 of season 5. The episode is entitled, "Stalag 14th Virginia," and it turns out that we're going to see some very interesting and dramatic stuff take place as Weaver discovers a shocking truth. Isabella and Maggie get forced to work together, and more! In the new, 8th episode press release: Weaver will discover a shocking truth about an old friend and will have to decide how to best protect the 2nd Mass. Maggie and Isabella are going to be forced to work together, while the remainder of the 2nd Mass attempts an escape led by Tom. Episode 8 was directed by Noah Wyle, and it was written by Jack Kenny. 5.4 Pope Breaks Bad

It seems that the characters on Falling Skies have had a hard time adjusting to the world of war. They've been fighting for three years, and admirably, they haven't stopped fighting. That's one of the reasons Cochise and the other Volm are impressed by the inferior but troublesome race of man-animals using primitive gunpowder weapons to bring down Espheni. Of course, not all humans have the power of positive thinking best demonstrated by the Mason family. Some humans find themselves damaged by the war, haunted by those that have been lost (or those yet to be lost), becoming tired and hungry and traumatized. Some humans are ready to turn on their own kind.

The weak link in the Second Mass is, as always, John Pope.

Recently, TNT released the new, official synopsis/spoilers for their upcoming "Falling Skies" episode 4 of season 5. The episode is entitled, "Pope Breaks Bad," and it turns out that we're going to see some pretty interesting stuff go down as troubling info gets shared. The pope decides to take total charge, and more! In the new, 4th episode press release: A mission to procure vehicles and fuel will go awry. Cochise will share troubling news with Anne that will test both her medical and leadership skills. Anthony's mental stability and his loyalties are going to get brought into question. In the meantime, a desperate Pope will take things into his own hands. The episode was directed by Peter Leto, and it was written by Jack Kenny. It was created by Robert Rodat. Episode 4 is scheduled to air on Sunday night, July 12th at 9pm central time on TNT.

I love Warehouse 13. It’s clever, it’s fun, it’s steampunky, it’s got tons of awesome historical references, and it’s full of great characters and relationships. Sadly, it’s now coming into its last, and shortened, six-episode season – but that’s not slowing the cast and crew down one bit! Comic-Con is releasing its daily schedules over this long holiday weekend and the schedule for Saturday, July 20 has just come out. The day features panels on TV favorites like How I Met Your Mother (at the Con for the first time!), True Blood, and The Vampire Diaries as well as upcoming shows like Dracula and The Originals, and much more. Many of the major film panels are Saturday, including a look at the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the Marvel panel, which will feature the Thor and Captain America sequels, and WB and Legendary’s panel featuring Godzilla, and Gravity.

Saturday at Comic-Con is stacked with TV panels as CW hits including "The Vampire Diaries" and "Arrow" join fan favorites "Once Upon a Time," "Grimm," "Family Guy," "Bates Motel" and "Person of Interest," plus the Con debut of "How I Met Your Mother."

There's always one day during the Sdcc when you just shake your head, laugh, and say, "This schedule is ridiculous." Saturday, July 20th, is shaping up to be that day this year.

Horror fans will have a lot of choices to make as the "Bates Motel" panel battles the one-two punch of Godzilla and Seventh Son. Later in the day you'll be faced with choosing to learn more about "True Blood," Telltale's The Walking Dead video game, or "Being Human." Last night actor Charlie Weber turned up on Warehouse 13 as Liam Napier, who we discover is the former boyfriend of gay warehouse agent Steve Jinks (Aaron Ashmore). That was more than enough excuse to grab the handsome Charlie for a photo shoot in Los Feliz, California. We also spoke with Weber about his guest role, his former career as a male model, his very memorable stint on the fifth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and more!

The Backlot: We’re talking to Charlie Weber of Warehouse 13, and my first question is just what makes you think you’re good enough for our little Jinksie?

Charlie Weber: [laughter] I don’t know that I am. I think that’s why he left me.

I don’t know, I think the episode kind of bears out that you weren’t the problem.

For the last time, the cast and crew for "Warehouse 13" will assemble to start a season when production for Season 5 begins in Toronto on June 24. The show earned a final shortened season last month after slowly eroding ratings sped up once Syfy moved the family show to its 10 p.m. timeslot on Mondays after "Defiance." With much of its audience in bed by then, especially on school nights, it was by far the beginning of the end for the show that officially launched Syfy's rebranding in 2009. "'Warehouse 13' has been my dream job these past four years," showrunner Jack Kenny said in a statement. This will be a year of sad countdowns, as we are set to lose the Eleventh Doctor, and Warehouse 13 heads into its final season. It’s at least a blessing that we know, and more important the writers know, far in advance, so that the final seasons for a beloved character and a beloved show will be developed appropriately.

Expanding from a sci-fi/fantasy pilot to a five-season original series is no mean feat, so it's with a proud salute (long way up, short way down) that we say goodbye to Warehouse 13. The Jack Kenny-run series is confirmed to to be ending next year after a six-episode fifth run.

Syfy's original series "Warehouse 13" will end next year with a shortened final season.

The show, which is nearing the end of its fourth season, will get a six-episode fifth season to wrap up its story, the cable channel says. Production on the final episodes is scheduled to start this summer, and they're set to air sometime next year.

I’ve been on conference calls with all of the main cast members plus the showrunner in recent weeks and none of them indicated an interest in finishing off the show. I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I'm fully going to get all up in this gift horse's grill. Warehouse 13 has been a remarkable sci-fi series, one of the best original programs Syfy has ever produced. I know it's sacrilege, but I'd put it up there with Battlestar Galactica. And gay lady viewers have been smitten with H.G. and Myka's relationship from the very beginning.
