‘Pretty Little Liars’ Creator Makes Bold Admission About Ezra & Aria’s Romance
Image
In 2010, Pretty Little Liars premiered on ABC Family (now Freeform), and Aria Montgomery and Ezra Fitz quickly became a fan-favorite couple despite their eyebrow-raising student-teacher dynamic. However, the show’s creator recently made a bold admission about the romance. Marlene King, Ian Harding and Lucy Hale recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to chat about the popular series—based on the books written by Sara Shepard—15 years after the pilot aired. Among the topics they tackled was Ezria’s relationship. “What we know now about grooming, that was not something we talked about 15 years ago,” King shared. “I’ve always thought that if we revisit the world, we would have to deal with that. That would be a storyline we’d have to pay attention to and give focus to. But I think they can have their happily ever after because they were everybody’s favorite couple.” As fans of Pll know,...

After Reboot’s Demise, Pretty Little Liars Cast Plots Big-Screen Return
I. Marlene King in Pretty Little Liars (2010)
On the eve of Pretty Little Liars’ 15-year anniversary, the five original “Liars” and series creator I. Marlene King have gone on record saying they are ready to return to Rosewood—if the format is right. “It would need to be a film because I don’t think it could sustain another season,” Troian Bellisario told The Hollywood Reporter, comments later amplified by E! Online. King echoed the idea, saying she’s “game” for “a movie or limited 10 episodes” so long as she can craft “a good idea to bring everybody back.”

Castmates Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson and Sasha Pieterse each laid down their own conditions—Mitchell “can’t do it without my girls,” Benson jokingly wants Hanna to be the new “A,” while Pieterse is simply “always open” to a reunion. Hale, who reunites with co-star Tyler Blackburn whenever schedules allow, recently told fans she would join a project “in a heartbeat.

'That Would've Made No Sense': Pretty Little Liars Star Dishes on 'A' Reveal
Image
Pretty Little Liars was a very popular TV teen drama, filled with mysteries, lies, and murders. The series followed a group of four teenagers stalked and harassed by a mysterious figure known as A.

Throughout Pretty Little Liars' seven-season run, three characters become A. However, in the end, it was revealed that the final A was Spencer's British twin sister, Alex Drake. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter during a cast reunion interview to celebrate Pretty Little Liars' 15th anniversary, Troian Bellisario, who played both characters, weighed in on the final reveal and her relief that it wasn't Spencer.

The Liars were always viciously attacked, their secrets spilled, and threatened by A. However, almost all of the main actresses wanted or fear to be the real A. Bellisario admitted she was "very grateful that Spencer" wasn't the ultimate villain.

I think we could have trusted our audience more with the information.

15 Years Later, Pretty Little Liars Stars Defend The Show's Most Controversial Love Story
Image
Like many other teen shows, Pretty Little Liars was about love and friendship. The series was filled with mystery, drama, liars, and murderers, but the friendships between the main characters and their romances were a big selling point.

The Liars were originally a group of four, and later five when Alison joined in. They were all in different relationships, and all the characters dated multiple people throughout the series, but the most controversial one was the long-lasting relationship between Ezra and Aria. To celebrate Pretty Little Liars' 15th anniversary, Lucy Hale and Ian Harding defended their characters' romance in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

"It was a different time," Hale argued about the couple known as Ezria. The two had a major age gap and, even more, Ezra was Aria's teacher in high school. "Would that storyline exist if it were being made now? I’m not sure, but probably not.

‘Pretty Little Liars’ at 15: Cast and Creator Spill Secrets — From “A” to Most Talked-About Couples — and Share Hopes for a Reunion Movie
Image
“I’m still here bitches, and I know everything –A,” read an anonymous text to four best friends 15 years ago.

During the summer of 2010 in the fictional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, Pretty Little Liars, which was based on the book series by author Sara Shepard, premiered on ABC Family (now Freeform), sent social media into a frenzy and has remained a highly talked-about show in pop culture. The mystery drama centered around the self-titled Pretty Little Liars — Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) and Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) — who reunited due to the ominous texts after having drifted apart for a year when their best friend, Alison Dilaurentis (Sasha Pieterse), went missing.

Throughout the show’s seven-year run, the girls try to find out what really happened to Alison (aka “Ali”) the night she went missing and presumably died, only to find out in...

Why The Pretty Little Liars Spin-Off Ravenswood Was Canceled After One Season
Image
I. Marlene King's mega-hit teen drama, "Pretty Little Liars," opens with a straightforward pilot episode. In the episode's cold open, a young girl goes missing during a sleepover, setting the stage for a one-year time-jump revolving around the other girls who were there when it happened. The missing girl, Alison Dilaurentis (Sasha Pieterse), still hasn't been found, but her friends collectively receive threatening messages from a certain "A," who seems to know a lot about each of their deepest, darkest secrets. With time, we (along with the girls) learn more about that fateful night, along with the central group's complicated dynamics with one another, especially with the mean-spirited Alicent. There's plenty of drama and intrigue to unwrap here, as this is a show that hinges on snappy dialogue and red herrings to create a convoluted mystery with no obvious solutions.

As confusing and thematically iffy as "Pretty Little Liars" can be at times,...

10 Great Books That Became Even Better TV Shows
Image
TV adaptations of novels and book series aren't anything new. Sometimes, these adaptations are unable to capture what made the book so popular and beloved. Fans who read the novel or book series before the adaptation might find changes in the adaptation that they dislike. But other times, some TV adaptations of books find the right way to do justice to the source material while also bringing something new or exciting to the table that makes the shows just as great, or even better, than the books.

With the upcoming Max TV series based on the Harry Potter book series, many fans are worried about whether the TV show will be able to have the success of the movie adaptations. Other fans are eager to see things in the upcoming TV series that the Harry Potter movies left out, from complete storylines to characters like Peeves or Winky. But while the concern is understandable,...
