The Drew Carey Show Finally Starts Streaming for First Time Ever
Image
Cleveland's rocking once again, as The Drew Carey Show can now be revisited on streaming. The series had been missing from streaming services up to this point, but for the first time ever, the sitcom is now available on one, and better yet, it's free.

Per TVLine, The Drew Carey Show has been quietly added to Plex where it's streaming for free. All nine seasons are included and the only real caveat is that it's ad-supported streaming. A total of 233 episodes were produced for the show from when it first debuted on Sept. 13, 1995, until it ended its run on Sept. 8, 2004. Two decades later, the show could potentially see a resurgence in popularity with its newfound availability on Plex. Carey recently teased that the show would soon start streaming, sharing his hopes that this would help The Drew Carey Show reach new fans in the way other sitcoms like The Office...

The Drew Carey Show Is Finally Available To Stream For Free on Plex
Image
The beloved 90s sitcom The Drew Carey Show is finally available to stream online, much to the delight of its devoted fans. After years of navigating hurdles, viewers can now binge all nine seasons of the show for absolutely no charge on Plex, which is an ad-supported streaming service. This marks the first time the series has been accessible on a streaming platform.

Drew Carey has worked tirelessly to bring the show online so that it can be a nostalgic trip down memory lane for long-time fans and a new experience for first-time viewers. In a June interview with TV Insider, he revealed the challenges he was facing in the process of securing the rights to stream the series.

Its not in syndication because of music rights and stuff. Were going to try to change that around and get it back out there. Its pretty funny, and a lot of its kind of timeless.

‘The Price Is Right’ Drew Carey Talks About His Television Legacy
Image
Drew Carey recently opened up about what he thinks will be his legacy on television. The Price Is Right host has been on TV since 1991 and, in that time, has been part of several hit shows. Now, he is the face of one of the most popular game shows on air today. Surprisingly, he doesn’t think The Price Is Right is what he will be remembered for. Keep reading to see what Drew Carey thinks will be his legacy.

The Drew Carey Show May Be Syndicated Soon

The game show host has already opened up about retiring from The Price Is Right. Drew says that he plans to die in that role if he’s still able to do the job and the network will continue to employ him. Given his popularity, it is likely that the 66-year-old will be in that role for a while longer.

However, The Price Is Right...

Drew Carey Says Acclaimed 90s Sitcom Might Finally Start Streaming
Image
Drew Carey might be best known for hosting the famous game show The Price Is Right, but this followed a run as the star of his very own sitcom. Fans of the series may recall when The Drew Carey Show was one of television's hottest shows, and Carey believes it could become popular again once it finally makes its way to streaming.

While digital versions of The Drew Carey Show episodes can be purchased, they have not been made available for subscribers of streaming services. Carey explains why this came to be in a new interview with TV Insider, sharing how issues with the rights had made streaming the series much more difficult. He said that there will be new efforts made to get the necessary clearance to put the show on a streaming platform, and he suggested that it could be given a new life with a younger generation taking notice,...

Drew Carey says he wants to get The Drew Carey Show ‘back out there’ for viewers to discover
Drew Carey
Drew Carey believes his former sitcom could become big with new generations of viewers, similar to hit shows like Friends and The Office.

While he currently hosts The Price Is Right on CBS, he previously starred in a sitcom featuring his name.

The Drew Carey Show ran on ABC for nine seasons, beginning in 1995 and ending in 2004.

It was ranked No. 20 among shows in three of its first four seasons, showing early popularity with network TV viewers.

The show isn’t currently “in syndication” for viewers to consume, although it is available for a price.

However, Drew recently expressed interest in getting his show “back out there” for more people to enjoy.

Drew wants his sitcom ‘back out there’

Many comedians have appeared in sitcoms bearing their names. However, not all of them last that long. Still, The Drew Carey show ran for nine seasons.

Drew recently shared that his...

The Drew Carey Show Didn't Treat His Weight Solely as a Punch Line
Image
The Drew Carey Show made a lot of fat jokes. You might say they were the long-running sitcom's bread and butter, if that didn't sound like the setup for one of them. Over nine seasons on ABC, Carey subjected himself — and, occasionally, costar Kathy Kinney, who played office adversary Mimi Bobeck — to weight-related cracks. The fictionalized Drew, a blue-collar guy working a sometimes humiliating Hr job at a Cleveland department store, caught plenty of mean nicknames, like Chief Rubbing Thighs and the more simple, direct Pig. His appetite was a running gag; long before a fantasy sequence depicted the comedian dancing with the food in his fridge, it was clear that he was willing to play his love affair with all things salty and rich for laughs.

After a low opening turnout in theaters for LGBTQ rom-com “Bros,” writer and star Billy Eichner wrote on Twitter Sunday that it was “disappointing” that “straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up.” Dot-Marie Jones, who co-stars in the film, echoed Eichner’s sentiments Sunday evening at the Best in Drag Show, an annual parody drag pageant that functions as a charity benefit for people living with HIV/AIDS, and at which Jones was serving on the panel of judges.

“There’s so much heart and so many wonderful good laughs in this [movie],” Jones told Variety at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. “I don’t know if it’s because it’s, you know, LGBTQ. It’s not contagious — fuckin’ go see a movie, you know what I mean? It’s crazy.”

Damon Lindelof on 'The Leftovers': 'I'm fighting for the life of the show'
Damon Lindelof
HBO's "The Leftovers" just concluded an incredible second season. (Here's my review of the finale.) As a bookend to the long and candid conversation we had two months ago, I spoke with the series' co-creator Damon Lindelof about many of the big decisions going into the finale, about all the hard work and tough choices required for a season this good, and his thoughts about the show's precarious future, coming up just as soon as a temple closes on Christmas... Let's start with a meta question: why are we doing this interview? A year ago, you didn't want to do any post-mortems. You wanted to let the show speak for itself. You did a bunch at the start of this season, you talked to Mo Ryan last week, and are doing a few like this for the finale. Why did you decide to be a little bit more out there this year?...

Jaime Pressly and Mimi Kennedy discuss their part of the 'Mom' universe
Mimi Kennedy
Jaime Pressly and Mimi Kennedy have both had good "Mom" news since I talked with them on the set of the CBS comedy in March. At the time, Pressly was still a "Mom" guest star, but the "My Name Is Earl" Emmy winner seemed very open to getting to be a regular part of the action. In March, it was announced that Pressly will, indeed, be a regular next season, continuing to chart the journey of wealthy divorcee Jill, who has made several trips to rehab this year. And at the time, Kennedy was unsure what was happening with Marjorie's cancer, an important Season 1 plotline that was ignored for the first chunk of Season 2. In recent episodes, it was finally been revealed that Marjorie has been continuing with treatment and that she's now cancer-free. I held my interviews with Pressly and Kennedy a little long and so there were large...

Jean Grémillon: Realism and Tragedy
Translators introduction: This article by Mireille Latil Le Dantec, the first of two parts, was originally published in issue 40 of Cinématographe, September 1978. The previous issue of the magazine had included a dossier on "La qualité française" and a book of a never-shot script by Jean Grémillon (Le Printemps de la Liberté or The Spring of Freedom) had recently been published. The time was ripe for a re-evaluation of Grémillon's films and a resuscitation of his undervalued career. As this re-evaluation appears to still be happening nearly 40 years later—Grémillon's films have only recently seen DVD releases and a 35mm retrospective begins this week at Museum of the Moving Image in Queens—this article and its follow-up gives us an important view of a French perspective on Grémillon's work by a very perceptive critic doing the initial heavy-lifting in bringing the proper attention to the filmmaker's work.

Who Is Twisty the Clown? Get To Know the Creepiest Villain of American Horror Story: Freak Show

There’s no doubting that the new season of American Horror Story is the most frightening and perverse yet. While a number of creator Ryan Murphy’s actors — Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters — have returned, the fourth iteration of the series has also featured a number of new faces. Among them are newcomer Finn Wittrock as the devilish man-child, Dandy Motts, Michael Chiklis as the freak show’s resident strong man, and Wes Bentley as the two-faced Edward Mordrake. Professional Clowns Are Pissed That 'American Horror Story' Is Making People Scared of Them
Emma Roberts in American Horror Story (2011)
We’re here, we’re clowns, Get Used To It.

5 things that went wrong with Mariah Carey's 'Me. I Am Mariah...' album release
Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey’s first album in five years, “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse,” came out last week and debuted with rather unspectacular sales. In numbers released today, “Elusive” sold 58,000 in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That’s Carey’s lowest opening weeks sales ever for a non-holiday album since the 1991 birth of SoundScan. So what went wrong here? *The title. Not only is it unwieldy, it’s three titles in one. It’s memorable for being awkward and egotistical and just strange… and that’s even knowing the too precious backstory of the title coming from a drawing she did when she was little. And who has referred to her as “the elusive chanteuse?” That seems self-appointed. Including your name in that album title only works once— on your self-titled debut—and she’d already gotten away with it doing it again on “The Emancipation of Mimi.

By keeping the shimmering blue shadow on her eyelids (and not brushing up into the brow bone), it makes this look fresh and modern. Richie's top lashes coated in layers of mascara, deep purple eyeliner along the lower waterline and pale pink lipstick add the perfect finishing touches. Plus, it doesn't hurt to have a sun-kissed glow that accentuates those honey-blonde waves.

What do you think about Nicole Richie's blue eyeshadow? Is it too much of the hue? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.

John Lennon and The Beatles in A Hard Day's Night (1964)
Happy Birthday, John Lennon! What Were His Greatest Songs?
John Lennon and The Beatles in A Hard Day's Night (1964)
The tragedy is that John Lennon graced the earth for but forty years. But a perfect storm of brilliance, social consciousness, personal pain and populist embers whipped around Lennon, leading the confused lad from Northern England to fit more life into those years than perhaps anyone else in the 20th century. For that, on what would have been his 71st birthday, we celebrate.

Born as German bombs rained down on Liverpool in 1940, Lennon was born to Alf and Julia Lennon, a forbidden couple that flouted class convention in a still hierarchical society. That, years later, their son would be a self-styled Working Class Hero seems, in retrospect, predetermined by the scandal into which he was born.

That awareness of the economic and social lines dug deep into Scouse society was aided by his unconventional childhood, which kicked off in earnest after he was forced, in a deep act of cruelty,...

Emmys: A ballot full of all-star snubs
We all love talking about who gets hosed when the Emmy nominations come out every year. In fact, we wouldn't have been doing our job if we didn't discuss the 2011 Emmy snubs almost as soon as the nominations were announced.

But we wanted to go a little further than just discussing this year's list of the dissed. We wanted to see what would happen if we put together an Emmy ballot of snubbed shows and stars -- meaning no nominations in their designated category -- from the last 10 or 15 years, to see what names we could find on that list. It turns out that the list of the snubbed is as accomplished, if not moreso, than the people who get nominated every year.

So here is a nomination ballot containing nothing but Emmy snubs. Let us know who would be on your ballot....

TV Review: Drew Carey’S Improv-a-ganza; whose format is it, anyway?
Atrocious title aside, this improvised comedy gameshow is a worthier successor to Whose Line Is It Anyway‘s crown than BBC2′s recent Fast & Loose, primarily because it’s the same basic show with only minor differences. A svelte Drew Carey (host of Whose Line‘s Us remake) ostensibly takes charge, supported by a bunch of all-star improvisers: Whose Lineveterans Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Chip Esten, Jeff Davis and Brad Sherwood, teamed with Jonathan Magnum and Sean Masterson from Drew Carey’s Green Screen (a short-lived post-Whose Line improv show), and joined by Kathy Kinney and MADtv’s Heather Anne Campbell.

The series was shot at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, giving Improv-a-Ganza the unshakeable feel of Whose Line Is It Anyway: Live In Vegas. It’s pretty much the same format, just with a more impressive stage and trivial tweaking. The biggest change is the lack...

Charlie Sheen drops in on Drew Carey's Improv-a-Ganza on Gsn (Video)
Filmed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, "Drew Carey's Improv-a-Ganza" features a solid troupe of actors and comics led by Drew Carey in a raucous and never the same instant improv stage show, direct by the audience. Earlier in the show's taping, a week after the big "Two and Half Men" meltdown, actor Charlie Sheen's impromptu appearance on Gsn's new series shocked even Drew Carey, who was not expecting him. The genius improv skills of Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Jonathan Mangum, Kathy Kinney and Jeff Davis combine with Carey's knack for making the most ordinary thing in life a hilarious venture, as Gsn.s original new upcoming series "Drew Carey.s Improv-a-Ganza" will absolutely become a family favorite.
