Sara Jean Underwood’s Red Carpet Look Stuns in Sky-High Louboutin Heels
Image
Petite in stature but big on style, Sara Jean Underwood knows how to use sky-high heels to make a lasting impression. Born on March 26, 1984, the American model, television host, and actress rose to fame as Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in July 2006, later earning the coveted title of Playmate of the Year in 2007.

Though she consistently cites her height as 5ft 2in (157.5 cm) on social media, Playboy once listed her slightly taller at 5ft 3in—possibly factoring in the towering heels she’s known for wearing. She’s shorter than Holly Madison, who measures 5ft 5 (165.1 cm).

The 62nd Anniversary Episode Of ‘General Hospital’ Will Honor Dr. Monica Quartermaine, Played By The Late Leslie Charleson
Image
ABC’s “General Hospital” will celebrate its 62nd anniversary on Tuesday, April 1, and that day’s episode will honor one of the show’s most iconic characters, Dr. Monica Quartermaine, who had been portrayed by the late Leslie Charleson since 1977.

Leslie Charleson

Scott Kirkland/ABC

While the episode was written before Charleson’s death on January 12, 2025, at the age of 79, the introduction of the Dr. Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Wing will dedicate part of the fictional General Hospital location to her character.

“I was thrilled,” said Genie Francis (Laura Collins) in a recent interview published in the latest issue of TV Guide Magazine, discussing her character’s prominent role in the episode. “It’s always nice when they acknowledge the fact I’m sort of an antique here; I’m historical. I like the feeling of that.”

While producers had hoped Charleson would have been able to attend the on-air dedication when it was initially conceived,...

Audrina Patridge’s Favorite Heels: Why Stuart Weitzman’s Wedges Stand Out
Image
More than a decade ago, Stuart Weitzman introduced some truly distinctive shoes for the brand’s spring collection, and their impact is still remembered today.

One standout style was the ‘Perfbootie’ wedge booties, which Audrina Patridge—who stands 5ft 5 ¼ (165.7 cm) and wears a US shoe size 8—was spotted wearing while filming scenes for her reality show Audrina.

Like the Tyrols from the same designer, these Perfbooties are also light, neutral, and wedge-style. The distinctive features are the lace-up front and the patterned small-sized cutouts on the leather upper.

General Hospital Executive Producer Frank Valentini confirmed Charleson’s passing on the show’s official Instagram page on Sunday, January 12.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my dear friend and colleague, Leslie Charleson,” he began, continuing as follows:

Crystal Method Represents Nevada, Alaska Fails Jewel and Other Head-Scratchers From the Latest ‘American Song Contest’
Image
If you haven’t been watching “American Song Contest,” you might not know that Scott Kirkland from the Crystal Method is from Nevada. He’s representing one of 45 states that have already competed on on the NBC competition, which is based loosely on Europe’s popular Eurovision Song Contest.

Other well-known names in the semi-finals of the competition include Michael Bolton for his home state of Connecticut, with the former champion of “The Voice,” Jordan Smith, competing on behalf of Kentucky, and “Glee” alum Riker Lynch fronting for Colorado.

Name recognition, however, isn’t always a guarantee of easy passage through the competition. Of those recently eliminated in the contest –Jewel, who represented Alaska, and Macy Gray, Ohio.

“There is a couple I thought should have stayed around, but I’m not a judge and I don’t have anything to do with that,” said host Snoop Dogg in a...

Raw Sampled Power: How a Stooges Doc Led to Crystal Method’s Comeback

Anyone who hears the Crystal Method’s new single “Post Punk” may recognize a familiar voice laced throughout it: “I don’t want to be a punk. I don’t want to belong to any of it. I just want to be.”

It sounds just like Iggy Pop talking about the Stooges in Gimme Danger, Jim Jarmusch’s 2016 documentary about Pop’s former band. And, in fact, that’s exactly what it is — a sample of Pop’s voice propels the group’s first new single in four years.

Matthew McConaughey Receives Maverick Actor Tribute At Napa Valley Film Festival
The Napa Valley Film Festival is a rather unique experience in the festival realm, and they have awards/honors that don’t fit the normal mold of what people may be used to seeing. This year, Matthew McConaughey received the Caldwell Vineyard Maverick Actor Tribute in celebration of his cinematic achievements. It probably isn’t much a stretch for many to figure out that he’s among the most likely candidates for such an honor.

Prior to the ceremony, McConaughey’s highly-anticipated Gold screened for festival patrons. Matthew’s wife, Camilla Alves, Producer Teddy Schwarzman and The Weinstein Company COO David Glasser, were also in attendance. After the screening Deadline Hollywood’s Mike Fleming hosted and moderated the on-stage conversation. Matthew was joined by his wife Camilla Alves.

A candid Q&A with Ken Jordan of The Crystal Method on new album and Edm scene
The Crystal Method
Before electronic music had dozens of chart-topping producers and an entire genre to its name, which we today call Edm, in the mid-90s, a few U.S. acts such as Moby and the Crystal Method broke through with a sound called "electronica."   The Crystal Method's 1997 debut album "Vegas" is considered one of the best releases of this period for its trippy, funky, breakbeat heavy sound that yielded classics such as "Busy Child." Seventeen years later, the Los Angeles-based, Las Vegas-bred duo of Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland are still crafting big beats.    While electronic music has changed a lot since...

The Crystal Method Scores J.J. Abrams' 'Almost Human' (Q&A)
Tom Rowlands, Ed Simons, and The Chemical Brothers
With Edm having become a massive mainstream phenomenon, it’s imperative to remember the influence of that exhilarating first wave of trendsetters in the mid to late ’90s. The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx and the like wildly turned dance music on its head and veritably became the “rock” stars of the post-rave generation. Las Vegas’ Crystal Method were one of America’s most dynamic representatives of that scene, their rousing 1997 breakbeat single “Busy Child” enjoying months of ubiquity. The duo of Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan are returning now with their first new album in five years in

Aural Fixation: The Music of the Future Sounds like Eminem?
By 2020, technology will have advanced to give us even cooler phones and Gsp systems, but most impressive (at least according to director Shawn Levy) will be boxing robots. And what does a former (human) boxer do when he is replaced by the technology of robots? Become the operator and promoter of said robots, naturally. But more importantly, what kind of music does he fight and train to? The year might be 2020, but the artists making up the soundtrack for Real Steel almost read like it was released in the 1990s with songs from Limp Bizkit, The Crystal Method, The Prodigy and Foo Fighters. And this is not a bad thing. Real Steel is all about the performance (both in and outside of the ring) and the swagger filled soundtrack will get your adrenaline pumping as you root for the underdog team of former boxer Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman), his son Max (Dakota Goyo) and their robot, Atom...

Method Man in Power Book II: Ghost (2020)
Method Man wants you to know he hasn't sold out.

Sure, he just got paid to do a rap about Sour Patch Kids candies, but he really doesn't think that makes him a sell-out -- at least not more than any of the other rappers out there these days.

"If I'm selling out, then the majority of the people in the game are selling out," the rapper, whose real name is Clifford Smith, told The Huffington Post. "I think it is for the betterment of the music. At least [Sour Patch Kids] got a real rapper to do a video. They got a rough rapper and they should get kudos for that and I should get kudos for broadening our horizons."

The Sour Patch Kids rap, "World Gone Sour (The Lost Kids)", is some of Method Man's finest work -- seriously! He really doesn't hold back on the cursing as he laments...

Review: Identity Festival In Dallas

By Zachary Swickey

Dallas – In the past year electronic dance music has wiggled its way back into the mainstream in a way it hasn’t done since the mid-90’s enthusiasm for hard-banging house acts like the Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers, who have both weathered changing musical trends and are still around today. What better time than now for the inaugural run of a new touring digital music festival?

Case-in-point, the Identity Festival. “Grandfathered” by Edm legends Kaskade and Steve Aoki, who helped pick out the jaw-dropping lineup, Identity has been sweeping the U.S. with rotating slots featuring the likes of White Shadow, Holy Ghost, Datsik, the Disco Biscuits, Rusko, DJ Shadow, Skrillex, Pretty Lights and, of course, Kaskade and Aoki themselves at select spots.

Things were off to a slow start at the Dallas stop on Sunday, considering the temperature was a mild 107 degrees.

Paul Oakenfold’s ‘Tokyo’ Latest to Get Machinima Treatment
At this point, I’m of the camp that really digs the concept of pairing universally renown music artists with up-and-coming web video creators—especially in the mind altering worlds that machinima lets you play in. The profiles of the creators are certainly raised—lending some mainstream hooks to their otherwise niche style of filmmaking. Last Monday The Crystal Method kicked off the new series with a music video collab from Kootra, notching a respectable, though not astounding, 420,000 views. This week it’s another rising star on Machinima’s deep bench of young filmmakers, Myoelectric—Dustin Valcalda and Justin Loebel—known for dozens of graphic, high energy machinima vids like the Super Death Montage (below). Trance DJ Paul Oakenfold (above), an artist emerged from the edge of pop culture himself, lends his track “Tokyo” off his to-be-released album Pop Killer to the series. Tokyo is a apt choice for this experiment with machinima,...

The Crystal Method Starts Machinima’s New Music Video Series
The Crystal Method have always been alchemists of sound, experimenting with tonal subtleties and electronic dance grooves since the early 90′s. That’s why news of the La-based duo playing around with video game engines for their latest music video doesn’t really surprise me. TCM’s Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland opted for an all-machinima based video for their new track “Play For Real” (which also features Heavy) and launched the video (below) late yesterday as part of Machinima’s (the network) new music video series. As part of the distro plan, the track in the video, “Play For Real,” is available now for one week only as a free download for the fans directly from the band’s website, while a full digital Ep including remixes of the song by Dirtyphonics, Le Castle Vania, Left/Right & Digital Pizza and Team Awesome will be released August 15 via TCM’s own Tiny e Records.

‘Supremium’ Next Up As Machinima Releases More Comedy Series
At this point you have to really look at Machinima as a mega-network. There are so many shows and videos coming out of the 2.5 billion-view behemoth YouTube channel—plus another 8.5 billion from channels in its network—that this is one massive fire hose. Of course we’re talking about Machinima, the network with a big M, and not to be confused with litte ‘m’ machinima, the much broader term for game engine based storytelling that inspired the company’s name. Their latest original comedy web series Supremium is anything but machinima. Music: Music Review: Pictureplane: Thee Physical
Travis Egedy, who performs and records as Pictureplane, has been credited with coining the deeply mocked term “witch house,” but on his new album, Thee Physical, he shows enough personality to stand out from the faceless swath of laptop auteurs. Egedy splices house-music thump and Atari-console bloops with melodies that split the difference between Depeche Mode and Jodeci for icy, snapping tracks that only occasionally overshoot their mark and turn into kitsch. (The chopped-up hip-hop vocal samples on “Body Mod” bring to mind something that would fit on a late-’90s action-movie soundtrack alongside The Crystal Method.) As a songwriter ...

The Superman Motion Picture Anthology Blu-ray review
It was a time of sex, cynicism and Star Wars - and endless lampoons of the old Batman TV shows. Almost inconceivably, given the era that we live in, there had never been a superhero movie that wasn't cheap, laughable, aimed at kids - or all three. So when Superman producers the Salkind brothers decided to follow up their success of the Musketeers movies with another ambitious two-part movie project, they knew they'd need to throw high-level talent at the first ever serious cinematic account of the Man Of Steel.

Enter Richard Donner, riding a high wave of interest from The Omen; enter Marlon Brando, superstar Gene Hackman, Godfather screenwriter Mario Puzo...enter years of hard-working hell inventing entirely new cinematic processes to make us all believe a man can fly. And enter unknown actor Christopher Reeve, ready to take on the dual role of Clark Kent and Kal-El in what remains a definitive interpretation.

Superman films getting hi-def Blu-ray treatment
By Sean O’Connell

Hollywoodnews.com: Can you imagine how amazing Superman’s blue-and-red tights are going to look in high-definition?

As Warner Bros. prepares to reboot the Man of Steel – again – the studio is going back to Superman’s cinematic roots. Not the hero’s black-and-white days. Back to the Richard Donner days, when the director (with Christopher Reeve’s help) took the superhero film franchises to new heights. And they are putting

“Stronger. … Faster. … Sharper!” the Blu-ray clip teases for “Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology.” The package will include

The teaser trailer is heavy on Donner’s original “Superman” and Bryan Singer’s most recent “Superman Returns.” We don’t see a lot of footage from “Superman III” or “The Quest for Peace,” but they are reportedly in the set. We’ll also see “Expanded Edition” cuts of Donner’s two films for the first time on Blu-ray.

Daft Punk’s ‘Tron: Legacy’ Soundtrack To Be Remixed
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross may have walked away with the Academy Award for best score this past weekend, but Daft Punk’s score to the movie Tron: Legacy still remains the score that stood out the most from any film of 2010. Of course it probably also has something to do with the fact that it was the only aspect of the film that kept viewers awake. Regardless it was a fantastic score. Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter recruited an 85-piece orchestra to help accomplish and expand not only the track listing but the presence of sound (read our review here).

Well if you loved the music arranged by the electronic duo, you may also be interested in this: On April 5th, Walt Disney Records will release the remix album Tron: Legacy R3CONFIGUR3D, which features artists like Paul Oakenfold, The Crystal Method, M83, Photek,...
