Ryan Murphy is adding another series to his popular American Story collection. After American Horror Story, American Crime Story, and American Sports Story, he is now working on American Love Story. This will be the fourth part of the anthology series, and instead of focusing on crime or sports, it will tell a powerful love story.

American Love Story will follow the real-life relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. Their romance was often in the news, but this series aims to show what their lives were really like behind the cameras. The story takes place during the 1990s, a time when both were often seen as American royalty.

While FX hasn’t shared an official release date just yet, production officially began in June 2025, with the series expected to premiere around Valentine’s Day in February 2026. First announced back in 2021 as part of Ryan Murphy’s expanding American Story anthology,...

Ryan Murphy’s “American Love Story” has set a February 2026 release date.

The new series, which follows the love story between JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, will premiere during the week of Valentines Day next year, Ryan Murphy Productions announced in a Friday Instagram post.

The post also gave a first look at the stars of the FX series, Sarah Pidgeon, who stars as Carolyn, and Paul Kelly, who stars as John F. Kennedy Jr., during their camera tests.

“Over a thousand actors auditioned for each of these roles, and we absolutely found the perfect choices,” the post read. “Congratulations Sarah and Paul!”

Three more actors have joined the cast of American Love Story.

Grace Gummer, Sydney Lemmon, and Alessandro Nivola will all have roles in the upcoming FX anthology series from Ryan Murphy, according to Deadline. The series will follow John F Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy‘s whirlwind romance. Grace will play Caroline Kennedy, Sydney will play Lauren Bessette, and Alessandro will play Calvin Klein.

Grace has worked with Ryan Murphy before, as she played the role of Penny in the fourth season of American Horror Story. Sydney played the central character of Ana in the Hulu series Helstrom, while Alessandro has had roles in films such as The Brutalist and Kraven the Hunter.
