Apple has removed the majority of Alex Jones and Infowars‘ podcasts from its iTunes and Podcast apps. It is the latest tech company after Facebook, Spotify and YouTube to take action against the fringe conspiracy-pushing host.
“Apple does not tolerate hate speech, and we have clear guidelines that creators and developers must follow to ensure we provide a safe environment for all of our users,” an Apple spokesperson said (via Buzzfeed).
“Podcasts that violate these guidelines are removed from our directory making them no longer searchable or available for download or streaming.

Updated: Apple has taken down all episodes of five of Infowars’ six podcast series that had been available on iTunes, citing violations of its hate-speech rules.
And early Monday, Facebook said it removed four pages run by Infowars founder Alex Jones for “repeatedly posting content over the past several days” targeting transgender people, Muslims and immigrants that contravened the social-media company’s standards prohibiting hate speech and content glorifying violence.
They’re the latest moves by big digital-media platforms to stop distributing the right-wing conspiracy website’s content, which has been a high-profile test case of how Silicon Valley is grappling with the problem of dealing with inflammatory content and misinformation.
Apple’s removal of the Infowars podcasts, first reported by BuzzFeed News, comes after Spotify and Stitcher pulled multiple podcasts from Jones last week. Last month both YouTube and Facebook penalized the alt-right agitator for violating their community-standards guidelines...

Music streaming service Spotify was criticized on Monday after news emerged the site’s podcasting service hosts content from Alex Jones.
The InfoWars conspiracist known for doubting the Sandy Hook massacre and speculating about child slave colonies on Mars has become a lightning rod as critics increasingly demand that social media companies remove his content from its platforms.
Spotify users looking to listen to InfoWars content have multiple options to choose from, including “War Room,” “RealNews with David Knight, and “Infowars.com Freedom Nuggets.”

The connection between the two was first spotted by Right Wing Watch’s Jared Holt, who called the company out publicly on Twitter.
“Infowars is on Spotify,” he said. “It is incredibly difficult to get podcasts hosted on Spotify.”

While us horror lovers revelled in the ripped bodices and cobwebbed corridors of another vampire plagued castle, Hammer was busy trying to clear the halls and make their way into the modern world. Take Nightmare (1964), an effective black and white thriller that shows you don’t need fangs to be fearsome.
Released in its native U.K. in April and stateside in June, Nightmare (Aka the amazing Here’s the Knife, Dear: Now Use It) still has a lot of wandering down darkened hallways, but instead of coming up against the undead, our heroine has to do battle with her own brittle mind. Or has the dead come back for her?
Pity poor Janet (Jennie Linden – Old Dracula). Our film opens with her hearing a distant voice calling her name. She leaves the comfort of her bed and follows the whispered voice which leads her to a shadowed room where...
