7 The Boys Cameo Rated Worst to Best
Image
Eric Kripke’s Prime Video series, The Boys, is a satirical, graphic, and bloody take on the superhero world as well as the world we live in. From Antony Starr’s Homelander being a parody of DC’s Superman to some characters resembling real-life people, the show has no shortage of characters that leave you perplexed and impressed.

Yet, cameos in the series have turned out to be a massive deal, as they aren’t just celebrity drop-ins but narrative statements. With its biting satire of the superhero-industrial complex, the series has often employed high-profile cameos to amplify its commentary, deepen its world-building, or deliver meta punchlines that linger longer than the scene itself.

However, as is the curse of entertainment, not everything can be perfect, and hence, not all cameo appearances are created equal. Some of them shape key plot threads and reflect the show’s obsessive parody of celebrity culture,...

7 The Boys Characters Ranked Worst to Best
Image
Eric Kripke’s Prime Video series The Boys, across its four seasons, has introduced us to several richly developed characters who drive its narrative of corruption, rebellion, and moral ambiguity. Since its 2019 debut, the series, adapted from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comics, has captivated audiences with its gritty take on superheroes and the vigilantes opposing them.

While the show’s irreverent superhero satire thrives on such characters, they largely remain in the grey area when it comes to morality and integrity. It is not really a show about heroes and villains; it is more about how these characters grow, shape, and reshape the dystopian world around them.

So, rather than ranking The Boys characters solely on morality, here is a list of seven key figures from the show, based on their development—how their arcs evolve, reveal depth, or surprise—and their impact on the overall narrative, from...

20 Years After Its Debut, 'Supernatural' Is Still Setting Viewership Records
Image
It’s been 20 years since Dean (Jensen Ackles) first picked up Sam (Jared Padalecki) from his apartment in Stanford. Can you believe that? Supernatural recently celebrated its pilot’s 20th anniversary, and fans still can’t get enough of the trio of Dean, Sam, and Castiel (Misha Collins). While streaming gives some leverage to network TV shows like Suits that get a whole spin-off based on the streaming success. Supernatural has shown its mettle by dominating Nielsen charts.

Per Deadline, Supernatural made it into the Nielsen’s Top 20 (Overall) at the 15th spot, outdoing new hits like The White Lotus and old favorites like Friends. The Eric Kripke series garnered 11.9B minutes viewed in the first half of the year for Netflix. This is promising news given the streamer’s rights to the CW show is expected to end this year, but in light of the viewership record, Netflix will certainly renew the deal,...

Image
The final season of The Boys doesn't yet have a release date, but the cast and crew of the film have already been saying their goodbyes as production is soon coming to a close. The Boys Built Firecracker to Provoke, But Ended Up Revealing Something Else
Image
When the Supe War started to take shape in Season 4 of Eric Kripke’s The Boys, Antony Starr’s Homelander sought assistance from some new promising faces. One such name was Firecracker, who quickly rose from a side character to one of the major problems that Billy Butcher and his ragtag group of vigilantes must take care of.

Interestingly enough, Kripke’s superhero spoof show had different intentions for her, where she would merely be a supporting antagonist. In the process of being a provocative figure on screen, she showcased a whole different side that was not part of the script. However, it did not disappoint, as her elitist side was quite an entertainer for the viewers to watch.

The Boys: Season 4 Unraveled a Different Side of Firecracker

After the events of The Boys Season 3, The Seven were weaker than ever. Using Vought as a cover, Homelander (Antony Starr...

Image
It's been 20 years since the premiere of Supernatural, and the cast of the long-running series has revealed that they were once surprised anyone watched the show at all. Supernatural aired its pilot episode in 2005, and 15 seasons of a beloved, critically acclaimed show quickly followed.

'It Would've Been R-rated': Supernatural Stars Address How the Show Would Look Like on Streaming (& Which Format Would a Reboot Take)
Image
Speaking to TV Insiderto celebrateSupernatural's 20th anniversary, the lead stars addressed what the show would've looked like on a streaming service and if they should do that for a reboot.

Supernatural premiered in 2005 on The WB, and by Season 2, it was already on The CW, where it stayed for 15 seasons. The horror fantasy series aired for 327 episodes and became the network's longest-running scripted show.

Supernatural was filled with mythical creatures, and most featured a monster-of-the-week pattern, with lots of opportunity for character development and fluff episodes that further cemented the show's legacy. That wouldn't have been possible on a streaming service, which usually has eight to ten episodes a season. When asked how the show could come back, the lead actors, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins jumped with several funny suggestions, like a "puppet show," "anime," or "marionettes."

Padalecki further explained, "We’re all a lot older than we were 20 years ago.

Image
The cast for Supernatural has an idea about what their perfect revival would look like, and it basically would be The Boys. It's been six years since Supernatural came to a close with season 15, and already, people are talking reboots. Reboots and revivals are all the rage in the streaming era, and they have been long before it.

Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins, who play Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, and Castiel, respectively, have been asked about a reboot frequently. Eric Kripke, the current showrunner for The Boys, was the original creator of Supernatural, and his involvement could look much different these days.

Sitting down with TVInsider, the cast of Supernatural discussed what they thought a Supernatural reboot would look like, and it might look familiar to some Amazon Prime subscribers.

If Supernatural were to come back, what kind of format would you want it to be? A feature?...

‘Supernatural’ Stars Pitch Their Ideas for an “R-Rated” Revival of the Cult Series
Image
It’s been half a decade since Supernatural went off the air after a monumental 15-season run, and still, fans are asking — nay, demanding — for the story to continue. Soon, we’ll partially get what we’re dreaming of when Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins reunite in the fifth and final season of The Boys, which was also created by Supernatural’s Eric Kripke. And, while seeing them together again in the explosively diabolical universe will semi-scratch the itch, we’re still pulling for some sort of Supernatural follow-up.

While chatting with TV Insider on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the Supernatural pilot, the three besties weighed in about what they’d like to see should the series ever resurface. For Collins, he said “a puppet show” would be the best way to bring the gang back together, while Padalecki joked, “Anime.” But, everyone was on...

The ‘Supernatural’ Trio Is Excited for You To See Their “Very Different” Reunion on ‘The Boys’
Image
As part of The Boys’ fandom, we at Collider are certainly looking forward to quite a bit of the show’s upcoming fifth and final season. We will be sad to see it go, but when it comes to a series as perfect and well-crafted as this one, it’s best to allow Eric Kripke and the rest of the team to give it a Vikings burial rather than let it become the very thing it’s making fun of. And, although moments like the inevitable Butcher (Karl Urban) vs. Homelander (Antony Starr) showdown are certainly keeping us on pins and needles, there’s another part that is really holding onto our attention — the Supernatural reunion.

Since it was announced that not only would Jensen Ackles be reprising his role as Soldier Boy for the final go-around, but that his Supernatural pals, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, would come along for the ride,...

‘The Boys’ Spin-Off Star, 47, Gives the Series a Supe-Sized Update
Image
The last week has been a difficult one for fans of The Boys. It’s been bittersweet in the way that while we’re happy that Season 5 is officially filmed and ready to head into post, it means that the story will come to an end following the next set of episodes. As series creator, Eric Kripke, and stars like Erin Moriarty bid adieu to the long-running Prime Video favorite, it’s good to keep in mind that the satirical superhero universe won’t end here. Luckily, we’ve still got its offshoot, Gen V ticking away with new episodes due out this fall, and there’s yet another spin-off in the works starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. Titled Vought Rising, news of the project first arrived last summer and now, thanks to Ackles, we have a huge update about its production timeline.

Lesbian Actress Valorie Curry Discusses Portraying Anti-Gay, Anti-Trans Villain Firecracker in ‘The Boys’: “I really connected with her right off the bat”
Image
“The Boys” remains one of the world’s most popular superhero series, with Season 4 being Certified Fresh with high ratings. However, some fans were review-bombing the season due to its heightened political undertones, indicating that the writers are fully embracing political satire. One key element of this satire was a new character, Firecracker, a supervillain set to play a prominent role this season.

Recently, we reported on the inspiration behind Firecracker, with showrunner Eric Kripke revealing which U.S. politician influenced the character. Now, actress Valorie Curry has shared her thoughts on the influence behind her role, adding a layer of “The Boys”-style irony to the story.

In short, we reported that Eric Kripke confirmed Republican politician Marjorie Taylor Greene inspired Firecracker. Greene is a far-right politician and conspiracy theorist, a member of the Republican Party, and a strong supporter of Donald Trump.

Prime Video Users Are Obsessed With A Jensen Ackles Crime Thriller Series
Image
It's a great time to be Jenson Ackles. Not only has the internet been thirsting over his character on "The Boys" for three years and counting, but he's now leading another hit show that's climbing the charts over at Amazon's Prime Video. "Countdown" is a crime drama series in which Ackles plays a reckless cowboy detective working to prevent a deadly terrorist attack. Only a handful of episodes have been released so far, but the show currently ranks firmly among Prime Video's top 10 most watched shows of the week across the globe (per FlixPatrol).

Of course, being a top 10 show isn't a guarantee that the series will be a long-term success. But one factor "Countdown" has in its favor is that it's being released on a weekly schedule and not dropped all at once, as Netflix loves to do. This model gives it more chances to gain popularity through sheer word of mouth,...

4 sci-fi/fantasy TV shows that went on way too long
Image
You know that feeling when you discover a great TV show that really pulls you in and captivates your attention? Then once you blast through that initial first season you quickly realize there's even more to enjoy? Yeah; it's a pretty special moment.

But as the old adage goes: all good thing must come to an end. And the excitement of a fresh, new TV series can only be sustained for so long. Soon what was fun and riveting just becomes boring and stale. We've all experienced this sharp downward descent with one show or another at some point. With that said, let's take a look at some of the TV series that started off strong, but went on a little too long for their own good.

The Boys wraps up filming the final season, but the universe will continue
Image
Back in 2007, no one could have guessed that The Boys would not only become a superhero TV show but also one of the best. Each season has provided an emotional rollercoaster by using real-life events mixed in with a superpowered twist. Sadly, the end of the show’s journey is closer than you realize, as Deadline reports that the final season has wrapped up.

"It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude. We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them," creator Eric Kripke wrote in an Instagram post commemorating the conclusion of filming.

Barring unforeseen events, the future of Homelander, Hughie, Billy Butcher, and the rest of the characters is set. And...

The Boys wraps filming forever
Image
The Boys deserves a round of applause for doing something I would have thought impossible: in an age when Hollywood is making more movies and shows about superheroes than ever before, The Boys stands out. A blistering satire of modern politics masquerading as a hyper-violent superhero drama, The Boys might be the TV show that best captures the maniachal energy of the Trump era. It's also a show where an Ant-Man-like superhero once shrunk himself down and crawled up his lover's member and then exploded him from the inside when he involuntarily snapped back to normal size. The Boys has something for everyone!

There's nothing quite like The Boys on TV, and I'm going to miss it when it's gone. And that time is coming: showrunner Eric Kripke recently tweeted out a photo of himself on set for the last time. "It'll be torn down soon. It's bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude,...

Jack Quaid Talks ‘Heads of State’ and Bidding Adieu to ‘The Boys’
Image
2025 has been a prolific year for Jack Quaid.

He began the calendar year with the critically acclaimed sci-fi thriller, Companion, and six weeks later, he became a full-fledged action star courtesy of another well-received film in Novocaine. A handful of weeks later, he co-starred in an indie called Neighborhood Watch with his The Boys castmate, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and now he’s topping it all off with another comedic action performance in Ilya Naishuller’s wildly entertaining Heads of State, featuring Idris Elba and John Cena.

Oddly enough, Quaid shot Naishuller’s actioner well before all his other recent work. His stretch of the film as Marty Comer, a station agent for a CIA safe house, consists of an ‘80s-inspired action sequence where he has to protect Cena’s U.S. President character and Elba’s U.K. Prime Minister character from continued assassination attempts. Quaid credits the elaborate set...
