Espn’s Jemele Hill, Michael Smith Set to Co-Host New ‘SportsCenter’ Segment
Jemele Hill
There were two big announcements from Espn on Tuesday, and both of them were good news for their current stable of on-air talent. First up, ESPN2’s “His & Hers” anchors Jemele Hill and Michael Smith will now take over the 6 p.m. Et segment of “SportsCenter,” in place of Lindsay Czarniak, who is going on maternity leave in November. The popular pair, who have been longtime contributors at Espn, will take over their new roles on Feb. 6, 2017, the day after Super Bowl Li is played in Houston. This Chill Dog Naps Through a Baseball Game in a Baby Carrier
This adorable pooch is the most relaxed Philadelphia Phillies fan ever. To be fair, this napping puppy was caught dozing off at a spring training game, and no one really cares that much about spring training, right? The furry fan in question was spotted chilling in a baby carrier, worn by an owner channeling a Mitch Williams/John Kruk-style 'do, at Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros. The Phillies won 8-4. The Internet won thanks to this video. In the video, the pup rests its head back against its owner while enjoying a beautiful afternoon Mlb game in Clearwater, Fla. Once realizing they're on camera, the owner wakes his pup up to have his little furry pal...

Andrew Rector appeared on NBC's “Today” show on Friday to discuss the defamation suit, and struggled to explain (above) what exactly Espn commentators John Kruk and Dan Shulman said about him that was so offensive. See video: Comedian Frank Caliendo Channels Morgan Freeman to Perform ‘The LeBron James Redemption’ (Video) “Put yourself in my shoes,” Rector said.

Guys Who Might Be DadBoner's Roommate Dave
Yes, that's John Kruk. Pretty good match, huh?

Of course, even the slovenly Kruk is way classier than Dave could ever imagine, but I think there's a pretty strong resemblence.

Consider what Orioles manager Buck Showalter, who used to work with Krukie at Espn, had to say about Kruk.

"Have you seen the rigors of Espn at 3 o'clock in the morning when a guy blows a save on the west coast and you have to stick around for another two hours? And then try to go through the Taco Bell with John Kruk? That ain't fun. I mean, basically, we don't have any taco salad back there with John Kruk. Everybody should, at some point in their life, you wanna think about tough times, is being around him at 2 o'clock in the morning when he's hungry. That's not good."

Mlb 2K11 Needs Steroids
2K Sports Image from the videogame Mlb 2K11.

It’s probably politically incorrect to write this, but what Mlb 2K11 really needs is a good dose of steroids.

The baseball game’s developers added some muscle in the off-season, tweaking and improving key problems and annoyances from last year’s version, but there’s just not enough there to recommend paying another $50 or so for the update to this console game for all but the most-hardcore fans of the franchise or first-time buyers.

Video Game Review: ‘Mlb 2K10’ Improves Franchise But Team Still Needs Work
Chicago – Last year’s baseball game courtesy of 2K Sports, “Mlb 2K9,” was so glitch-heavy and poorly constructed that I assumed all of the wrinkles would be ironed out in the newest edition, “Mlb 2K10”. To the credit of 2K Games and Visual Concepts, a lot of the problems have been streamlined but the game is still unacceptably glitch-heavy, resulting in an experience that is only intermittently rewarding. It’s kind of like being a Cubs fan.

Video Game Rating: 3.0/5.0

Like all good Cubs fans, let’s start with the positives. The new pitching and batting mechanics are much improved. They both rely on the control sticks and the precision of both is easily the strongest element of the new title. The pitching mechanics allow for an experience that doesn’t feel automated as you place a fastball in just the right corner or expertly time a knuckleball. The batting...

Bucdaddy Loses a Ball
Resident Pajiban and weekend comment diversion writer Bucdaddy / Tater Barley Banks / Whatever It Is He's Calling Himself Today Comma reported over the weekend that it appeared as though the cancer might have gotten to him, testicular wise. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed (though thankfully isolated, it appears).

Today, Bucdaddy loses a ball, though I suspect he's got enough manhood left in one testicle to support three sets of junk.

All the same: Nobody wants to lose a tea bag, so in addition to sending out good vibes, and in the hopes of keeping his spirits high post-surgery, let us all come up with our favorite ball-related movie or personality. There's no real criteria here -- just a little time killer to pay our respects to Bucdaddy's departing testicle.

(A Moment of Silence, please)

As for me: I'm going with Willie-Jan van Ballegooi, star of Bum Fu: A Joint Venture and MaffiBAAAH!

Stand Up to Cancer (2008)
Beyond Baseball
Stand Up to Cancer (2008)
Saturday night's World Series game was one for the record books for many reasons, but mostly because of those "priceless" thirty seconds in the second inning. No, I'm not talking about Jayson Werth's homer, I am referring to something that is, dare I say, more important than what happens inside the diamond or who prevails as a champion. MasterCard generously turned over its beloved "Priceless" campaign to Stand Up To Cancer for what became a powerful 30 second call-to-action to fund innovative cancer research. Part of the spot aired live from Citizens Bank Park and featured cancer advocate and Stand Up To Cancer champion, Katie Couric, actors Terrence Howard and Minka Kelly (both of whom lost their mothers to cancer), and former Philly first baseman and cancer survivor John Kruk standing alongside brave patients from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia...

Review: 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force' 6
Growing up, my animation was largely the Saturday morning variety, the Hanna-Barbera output where kids never questioned a talking penguin and walrus on globe-trotting adventures, receiving wisdom from a human professor with a magical chalkboard. As I grew up and animation evolved, I realized the kinds of cartoons were splintering for the variable demographics, a change largely brought about my the advent of cable television.

Today, there is the most basic of animated fare for the wee tots all the way to sophisticated anime for adults. And in between are the shows for teens and young adults, the very life blood of Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block of shows. Among the most popular has been Aqua Teen Hunger Force, a show I have managed to miss since its debut in 2000 before there even was an Adult Swim.

I finally had a chance to sample the series when Warner Home...
