Quentin Tarantino has decided that he’s only going to direct ten feature films, then retire from that part of his career. For a full year, we were hearing that his tenth and final film was going to be something called The Movie Critic, which would reunite him with Brad Pitt, reprising the role of stuntman Cliff Booth from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But then, Tarantino decided to scrap the project. Given that Pitt won an Oscar for playing Cliff Booth, he was understandably disappointed that the movie wouldn’t be happening – and, in a shocking turn of events, he got Tarantino to agree to let another director bring the script for The Movie Critic to the screen! Pitt has reteamed with director David Fincher for the film, which may or may not be called The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth now – and below, we have put together...

"Superman" does a great job of fleshing out its world, which is already filled with metahumans and kaiju-level threats. It also sets up what's to come next, with the film's ending introducing Milly Alcock's Supergirl (who was hidden from the marketing). Her cameo is clearly meant to tease 2026's "Supergirl" (which could be even better than "Superman"), although her inclusion does raise some questions.
Earlier in the movie, Superman (David Corenswet) becomes a pariah once it gets out that his biological parents sent him to Earth to conquer it and take up a harem of women. This message appears to be unaltered, so Jor-El (Bradley Cooper) and Lara Lor-Van (Angela Sarafyan) really were just genocidal despots. It's a big storytelling risk that ultimately pays off, but it does raise the question as to why Supergirl didn't tell her cousin about his parents' true nature,...

The DC Universe is expanding, with new leadership and a fresh slate of interconnected films and television shows. A significant part of this new chapter is the introduction of a new Supergirl. This version of the character promises to be a departure from previous on-screen portrayals, offering a more complex and hardened hero for audiences to discover.
This upcoming cinematic take on the iconic hero is part of a broader strategy to build a cohesive and compelling narrative across various platforms. The new DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, has announced an ambitious lineup of projects for what they are calling “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.”
This plan aims to introduce a mix of well-known characters and lesser-known figures from the DC Comics library, creating a rich and diverse cinematic universe. The Supergirl film is a key component of this initial phase.

Superman introduces Milly Alcock as a take on Supergirl fans probably weren't expecting, as we see a drunk Girl of Steel show up at the Fortress of Solitude to collect Krypto from her cousin towards the end of the movie.
James Gunn has already said that this version of the character as a bit of a "mess" due to growing up in a far less stable environment than Clark Kent, and during a new interview with Rolling Stone, the DC Studios co-ceo shared some more details on this incarnation of Kara Zor-El and how she will differ to her comic book counterpart.

The Mise En Scene Company has boarded worldwide sales on “Forelock,” a dark comedy toplined by David Krumholtz and Caleb Alexander Smith, with Smith making his solo directorial debut on the project.
Smith wrote and helmed the Los Angeles-set film, in which he stars as a wannabe fitness trainer whose resemblance to a major movie star attracts the attention of Krumholtz’s Hollywood Boulevard con artist character. The duo’s partnership spirals into criminal territory in what’s being billed as a satirical take on Hollywood dreams gone wrong.
For Krumholtz, the project represents his first starring vehicle following his acclaimed supporting turn in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.” The versatile actor has built a reputation through collaborations with auteur filmmakers including the Coen Brothers and Seth Rogen, most recently earning praise for Rogen’s Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ series “The Studio.”

The first teaser poster for DC Studios' Supergirl, which recently dropped "Woman of Tomorrow" from the title, features the tagline "Look Out," and if you saw the Girl of Steel's Dcu debut in Superman, you should have a pretty good idea why.
In the closing moments of James Gunn's reboot, Kal-El's little cousin makes quite an entrance when she shows up to the Fortress of Solitude to collect Krypto. Kara is clearly more than a little tipsy, having spent some time partying on a planet with a red sun (a Kryptonian's physiology prevents them from feeling the effects of alcohol on Earth).
This take on Supergirl is evidently going to have some issues (Gunn has already referred to her as a "mess"), and something tells us she won't take her responsibilities as a hero quite as seriously as her cousin.

Bruce Springsteen was “Born to Run” into the 2025 Oscars race.
As The Boss gears up for the release of his much-anticipated biopic “Deliver Me from Nowhere” later this year, the iconic singer is already set to be honored during the fifth annual Academy Museum Gala. The timing couldn’t be better: The Academy Museum Gala will take place October 18, with “Deliver Me from Nowhere” arriving in theaters in October 24. Springsteen will be portrayed by Jeremy Allen White, with Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, Marc Maron, Gaby Hoffmann, and David Krumholtz also starring in the ’80s-set feature.

The first poster for Supergirl has been released following Milly Alcock's debut as the Girl of Steel in Superman this past weekend.
"Look Up" was the tagline for the Man of Steel's Dcu debut, but the script is flipped here, and it's changed to "Look Out." Given what we've seen from the Dcu's Kara, that seems appropriate.
In Superman's closing moments, a drunk Supergirl shows up at the Fortress of Solitude to retrieve her dog, Krypto. She quickly takes her leave, with Kal-El telling "Gary" (a.k.a. Superman Robot #4) that she likes to go and drink on planets with a red sun because their metabolism means they can't get that same buzz on Earth.
During a recent interview with Screen Rant, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn shared new insights into what fans can expect from the Dcu's Woman of Tomorrow.

Less than a week out from the premiere of Superman, James Gunn has unveiled a new look at the next DC Studios film by dropping the first poster for Supergirl.
Playing on the Superman tagline “Look up,” the image shows Milly Alcock’s Woman of Tomorrow drinking a Slurpee next to a Superman poster — only she’s written “out” over “up.” A close look also reveals what looks like blood on her fingers, hinting this could be a very different kind of superhero adventure than the hopeful Superman.
Coming from director Craig Gillespie and a script by Ana Nogueira (known for acting roles in The Vampire Diaries and The Blacklist), Supergirl is set to soar into theaters on June 26th, 2026. Alcock stars alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. Jason Momoa is also expected to make his debut as Lobo, and yes, Krypto will be part of this one too.

Less than one week after Superman flew into theaters everywhere, James Gunn has released the first official poster for Supergirl. The poster shows the best look yet at Milly Alcock in the feature role of Kara Zor-El, Kal-El’s cousin, who also makes a brief appearance in James Gunn’s 2025 hit film. It also pokes fun at Superman’s tagline, Look Up, by showing Alcock’s Supergirl posing beside the signature slogan, only with "Out" painted over Up. Fans who have seen Superman and watched the chaos Kara can wreak know that there isn’t anything to do but look out. James Gunn has already established the beginnings of a universe with Superman, and when Supergirl hits theaters everywhere next year on June 26, it will continue to expand with new characters.
Supergirl, which was previously titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, has also recruited some other notable stars to feature alongside Alcock in her Dcu debut.

Nathan Fillion is slated to reprise his role as Green Lantern Guy Gardner in the upcoming Lanterns series and the cousin of Kal-El, Kara Zor-El, is flying not far behind the man of steel for her own spin-off into the Dcu. Early its development, Superman was originally said to be titled Superman: Legacy. Following suit, it was also recently confirmed by Gunn himself that Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be undergoing the Sean Parker-revision-treatment and simply go by Supergirl (“It’s cleaner.”)
Variety‘s social media page recently passed along a new teaser poster for Supergirl. In it, the Kryptonian is caught red-handed and sipping a slushie after spray-painting over the tagline for Gunn’s Superman,...

It's only been a week since Superman flew into theaters, but it seems DC Studios is not wasting any time marketing their next big-screen adventure. Supergirl, which stars Milly Alcock in the titular role, just got an incredible first-look image that lets DC fans know that she is nothing like her superpowered cousin from Smallville.
Superman director James Gunn has shared the first poster for Supergirl, which hits theaters on June 26, 2026. Alcock is seen in her Supergirl costume, along with a slushee drink and a Superman logo that has been vandalized with some red paint. Instead of "Look Up," Supergirl will be asking audiences to "Look Out." The upcoming film is based on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic run from 2021 by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The story will see the latest Dcu hero on a bloody odyssey through space, encountering iconic characters like Lobo (Jason Momoa). You can check out the poster below.

The following contains minor spoilers for Superman.
The DC Universe officially kicked off with Superman on July 11. Following the extremely positive reception, the studio is not wasting any time before promoting its new films.
While Superman received praise and had a great opening weekend, James Gunn is already looking forward to the future. That involves Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which will mark the second feature film in the Dcu, slated for release in 2026. Although the film is 11 months away from its premiere, Gunn has introduced the world to the first official poster on X, and it's perfect.

Superman might still be doing a victory lap after a great opening weekend at the box office, but now all eyes are on his cousin Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl (Milly Alcock). Among the fun cameos that made their way into James Gunn's Man of Steel movie, Superman's cousin dropped in faster than an intoxicated bullet to pick up her pooch, Krypto, before flying off out of the new door she made for the Fortress of Solitude. The passing visit might've come as a shock for some viewers, but for Gunn, it's all part of the ever-expanding plan being laid out for the DC Universe -- and Supergirl is next up on the movie slate.
But is that really the kind of Supergirl we'll be meeting when her standalone movie arrives? What kind of antics will she be getting up to, and how does the Man of Steel's new...

What, exactly, is going on with DC? The answer is, a lot.
After an aborted attempt by Zack Snyder to create a unified universe of characters and subsequent successful one-offs like “Joker” and “The Batman,” Warner Bros. installed James Gunn and Peter Safran as the new co-CEOs of DC Films, under which they will build out an interconnected Dcu of films, TV shows and video games over the next eight to 10 years.
That universe officially got off and running with “Superman,” written and directed by James Gunn, a colorful and buoyant and unabashedly comic book-y adaptation introducing David Corenswet’s Kal-El to the world. The film’s opening weekend box office and assurances from Wbd boss David Zaslav seem to indicate this DC reboot’s going to stick, at least for now. And there’s a lot in the pipeline.

James Gunn’s new Superman movie just hit theaters this Friday, and people everywhere are still talking about it. The most famous Kryptonian finally made his big live-action debut as part of the new DC Universe, and his cousin, Supergirl, will be joining the action soon, well, by “soon,” we mean next year. Milly Alcock is set to star in her own Supergirl movie.
Actually, Alcock has already made a brief appearance as Supergirl, but I can’t share any details because of spoilers from the Superman movie.
Recently, the studio released the first official photo of Alcock fully dressed as Supergirl, and fans are really impressed. The costume looks very similar in style to the one worn by David Corenswet, who plays Superman, especially with the matching crest and colors. It also stays true to the comics that inspired the film, Supergirl is rocking the classic skirt look.

Superman is now in theaters, and in addition to introducing the world to the Dcu's new big-screen Man of Steel, Milly Alcock's Supergirl makes her debut in a fun scene towards the end of the movie.
When Supes returns to the Fortress of Solitude after saving the day, his cousin Kara drops by to pick up Krypto. The Girl of Steel has been partying on a planet with a red sun (the only way a Kryptonian can get drunk), and is more than a little merry.
After playing around with her super-pooch for a bit, Kara departs with a "thanks for watching him, bitch."
Now, Alcock's hairstylist Lindsay McAllister Pritchard has shared our first behind-the-scenes look at the House of the Dragon alum suited-up as Supergirl. An official still from the movie has yet to be released, but there's a good chance Kara will get her own character poster...

First off, Krumholtz admitted that he hadn't always behaved the best as a child actor. But Krumholtz thinks he was outright headed down the wrong path. “I was a really irresponsibly, unprofessionally behaved child,” Krumholtz said of his younger self. Nearly a decade ago, when the adult-animated comedy flick Sausage Party jumped off the shelves and into cinemas, it’s unclear whether the minds behind it had any idea of just how popular it would become. The DC Universe is officially kicking on Jul. 11, with Superman. Written and directed by James Gunn, the DC Studios co-ceo alongside Peter Safran, the superhero film is also filled with other superheroes who will be a part of the upcoming Dcu.
Aside from the titular hero, Superman's ensemble cast includes Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White. Superman is the first DC Studios movie, and is expected to introduce Milly Alcock's Supergirl before she takes flight in next summer's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Making Supergirl the second Dcu movie is an intriguing move on James Gunn's part, particularly as it keeps the action in the Man of Steel's corner of this world. Well, mostly. The Maiden of Might's big screen return is expected to be a largely cosmic affair, so does that mean we'll visit the new version of Krypton?
ComicBook.com caught up with Gunn and asked how much of Kara Zor-El's backstory on Krypton will be explored in her upcoming solo feature.

Ever since it was announced that James Gunn's Superman movie would include a slew of DC characters outside the titular hero, fans have been concerned about it being overcrowded. Superman will feature various characters from across the DC Comics canon, not generally related to the Man of Steel, including Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Guy Gardner, and The Engineer, along with iconic supporting characters like the staff of the Daily Planet. However, Gunn has assured fans there is nothing to be concerned about, citing Christopher Nolan's Academy Award Best Picture winner as a point of comparison.

Recently, DC Studios boss James Gunn explained how and why DC Extended Universe star Jason Momoa was brought back for the new DC Universe post-reboot—only, not in the same role. Rather than reprise his part as Aquaman, Momoa had another character in mind: Lobo. According to Gunn, the actor pitched himself as the iconic DC antagonist, and he ultimately scored the role for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is set to release in 2026. Based on the comic of the same name, the film also stars Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham.
In an appearance on the DC Studios Showcase podcast, Gunn told the story of how Momoa approached him. He explained: "When it was announced that I got the job. [...] I got a message immediately. It was Jason Momoa texting me saying... just all caps, 'Lobo, baby." A billion exclamation points."

Although sold to audiences as a delightful holiday comedy for the family, John Pasquin's 1994 blockbuster "The Santa Clause" has a twisted premise at its heart. Divorced dad Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) is looking after his young son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) on Christmas night when, up on the roof, there arises a clatter. He goes to investigate and finds the very real Santa Claus preparing to go down his chimney. Scott yells out and startles Santa, causing the jolly old man to fall off the roof to his death. The accidental manslaughter of Santa Claus is a weird place to start a heartwarming fable for kids, much less Disney's larger "Santa Clause" franchise.
Scott then finds a business card among Santa's belongings, entreating him to don the furry red coat and pick up the Christmas gig where Santa left off. Scott, in turn, returns the sleigh to the North Pole...

Jeremy Allen White knows what it feels like to be left off the Oscar list—but that might actually work in his favor this time. After missing out on the coveted award for The Iron Claw, White is stepping into Bruce Springsteen’s shoes for his next big role. The buzz around his new biopic, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, is already loud enough to rattle the Academy.
Playing the iconic rocker behind Born to Run and No Surrender, Jeremy Allen White is starring alongside Paul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young, Gaby Hoffmann, Stephen Graham, David Krumholtz, and Marc Maron. But overall, it seems this movie could finally score its first Oscar nod, and maybe even end a sad streak that’s plagued music biopics for years.

Bruce Springsteen is revealing what it was like to watch Jeremy Allen White portray him in his forthcoming biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere.
The film, hailing from writer-director Scott Cooper, stars White as the legendary artist, centering on the time period when he made his 1982 record Nebraska. The album is deeply personal, and Springsteen told Rolling Stone that there was “some unusualness” to watching the project be filmed because it touches on “some of the most painful days of my life.”
“I mean, there’s some unusualness to it because the movie involves, in some ways, some of the most painful days of my life,” he said, adding that he would take time away from set “if there was a scene coming up that was sometimes really deeply personal.”

In a new interview published Thursday, Bruce Springsteen opened up about his experience on the set of the forthcoming music biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” and praised its star, Jeremy Allen White, for being “wonderfully tolerant” of his presence during production.
While speaking with Rolling Stone, Springsteen was asked what it was like to watch an actor play a younger version of him. “I’m sure it’s much worse for the actor than for me. Jeremy Allen White was very, very tolerant of me the days that I would appear on the set,” Springsteen told the outlet. “I said to him, ‘Look, anytime I’m in the way, just give me the look and I’m on my way home.’ So the days that I got out there, he was wonderfully tolerant with me being there.”

From 20th Century Studios, Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.
