There’s a lot for music-loving travelers to like about the Guitar Hotel at Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida.
The place has a 7,000-seat entertainment venue, suites suitable for a pop sensation, and a lagoon-style area with bungalows perfect for hiding from paparazzi. But the thing that stands out most about the property is its shape. The Guitar Hotel is literally configured like 450-foot, back-to-back guitars. If...

Pamela Anderson recently recalled musician and ex-husband Kid Rock's angry outburst during a screening of Borat!. The actor began her career in small parts on television and in film before she landed the role of "Tool Time" assistant Lisa on the hit sitcom, Home Improvement, starring Tim Allen, Patricia Richardson, Richard Karn, and Zachary Taylor Thomas. After two seasons, Anderson scored the role of Casey Jean "C.J." Parker in the wildly-popular lifeguard drama, Baywatch.
After a successful career in film and television throughout the 90s, Anderson was featured in a cameo role for Sacha Baron Cohen's 2006 mockumentary film, Borat. The comedy saw the titular Kazakstani immigrant travel to the United States to marry Anderson. According to Pamela Anderson, her former husband Kid Rock despised her “Borat” cameo.
The “Baywatch” alum wrote in her memoir “Love, Pamela” that following a private screening at CAA founder and former NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer’s home with Steven Spielberg in attendance, Rock (aka Robert “Bob” James Ritchie) yelled at Anderson and called her a “whore,” among other expletives.
“We were about to move in, until the premiere of ‘Borat,'” Anderson wrote of her relationship with Rock. “The screening at Ron and Kelly Meyer’s house didn’t go well. Lots of important industry people were there: Steven Spielberg, Rick Rubin, Laird Hamilton and his wife, Gabby Reece. I didn’t tell Bob I was in the movie, because I wanted to surprise him.”
She continued, “I forgot about the part in the film that referenced the ‘sextape.’ Bob stormed out, calling me a whore and worse.

Pamela Anderson’s just-released memoir, “Love, Pamela,” alleges that Kid Rock screamed at her and called her “a whore” following the world premiere screening of Sacha Baron Cohen’s 2006 blockbuster comedy film “Borat.” The two were in a relationship at the time and, according to Anderson, were set to move in together until the “Borat” screening derailed their partnership. Anderson brought Rock to the “Borat” premiere without telling him she factored into the plot. The likes of Steven Spielberg and Rick Rubin were also in attendance at the event.
“I didn’t tell Bob I was in the movie, because I wanted to surprise him,” Anderson writes (via a book excerpt released by Rolling Stone). “I forgot about the part in the film that referenced the ‘sex tape.’ Bob stormed out, calling me a whore and worse. Bob and I started spending more time in Detroit, his hometown. We had our big family wedding there, where Bob Seger and Hank Williams Jr. sang for us. Our life in Detroit was full of music. I took for granted all those nights with Hank, Zz Top, Uncle Kracker, Eminem, and Bob’s band. To be around such talent was inspiring. It was a true rock-and-roll lifestyle, gritty and soulful. Detroit had an energy all its own.

Editors Note: In the wake of Harvey Weinstein’s Los Angeles trial for rape, another woman has stepped forward alleging the media mogul sexually assaulted her 22 years ago.
A ballerina and a model, Lisa Pekar moved to Los Angeles from Milwaukee in September 2000 to pursue her Hollywood dreams as a writer and possibly an actress.
Pekar wrote a piece about her experience and also was interviewed for TheWrap by Kelly Hartog. Pekar’s allegations were corroborated by a witness who spoke to TheWrap on condition of anonymity. Asked to respond to these allegations, a spokesperson for Weinstein said: “Harvey… believes that this sequence of events did not happen as suggested here and that the accusation just isn’t true. The fact is that this narrative is so similar to others, it is therefore easy enough to suggest to some that it is a valid recollection, yet it is also possibly being repurposed for other reasons.

‘Rookies’ Directors Thierry Demaizière, Alban Teurlai on Bringing Parisian Hip-Hop to the Big Screen
Hip hop is a popular pastime in Paris and its suburbs, having now made its way into many of the city’s high schools. At The Turgot high school in central Paris, hip hop is now part of the curriculum, as the Berlinale documentary “Rookies” (“Allons Enfants”), by Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai, shows.
This compelling film follows some of the school’s most talented hip hop aficionados train and battle under the watchful eye of a demanding coach. It served as the opening film this year for the Generation section at the Berlin festival, a sidebar dedicated to new films exploring the lives of teens and children. The film is a testament to the power of embracing raw talent and turning it into potential.
Producer-director Demaizière is best known for the documentaries “Lourdes” and “Rocco,” both of which he collaborated on with Teurlai who is an editor and director.

Daphne Guinness has released a new music video for “Heaven,” directed by famed visual artist David Lachapelle.
The video tells the tale of a decadent romance between an older woman and a young, angelic man. Guinness and her lover appear in plenty of gilded, campy outfits and environments, fitting for the song’s disco influence. As their love grows, she remains the same age, but the man ages, until he appears close to death at the end of the video. Nevertheless, she remains by his side, taking care of him in his elderly age.

Actor Taron Egerton may have drawn raves in Cannes Film Festival for his portrayal of legendary singer Elton John in Rocketman but the legend's first choice was actor-singer Justin Timberlake.
The former boybander-turned-hitmaker and actor Timberlake had once starred in the David Lachapelle-helmed video of John's 2001 song "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore".
"But we never formerly approached Justin because we weren't ever at a stage where it was the right time to approach him," John's husband and Rocketman producer David Furnish told hollywoodreporter.com.

Paramount has high hopes for “Rocketman,” the Elton John biopic starring Taron Egerton as the legendary performer. Premiering at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, the film comes on the heels of Fox’s massively successful Freddie Mercury movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” and could capitalize on audiences’ newly discovered interest in rock star stories that transport them to their youthful memories.
Costume designer Julian Day and director Dexter Fletcher had worked together on “Rhapsody,” which Fletcher completed after Bryan Singer’s departure. But although both movies deal with the lives of rock stars, there’s a crucial difference.
“The first and foremost thing [about ‘Rocketman’] was that we weren’t doing a straight biopic like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’” Day says. “It was always planned as a fantasy musical. So that was the starting point for the costumes, hair and makeup, production design … everything.”
The craftspeople who worked on the look of the film embraced the strategy.

When Paramount was getting ready to release the first images from “Rocketman,” Elton John was shown one photo of Taron Egerton in character sitting on a plane.

I sent it to Elton and Elton said, ‘I don’t remember taking that. When did I take that picture?’” He thought it was him. Elton was like, ‘Oh my God. Oh my God. It’s uncanny.”
