Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh star in Scottish sitcom Only Child, and the BBC has released a first trailer. More here.
Gregor Fisher will always be inextracably intertwined with Rab C. Nesbitt, the permanently plastered Glaswegian festering in squalor alongside long suffering wife Mary Doll, played by Elaine C. Smith. The show became so popular that writer Ian Pattison adapted it into a stage show, and stars like Sylvester McCoy, Stanley Baxter and Richard E. Grant appeared in the show. Series 3 episode Touch features a very early television appearance by David Tennant, who guest stars as barmaid Davina.
As we approach the festive season, Fisher also features in arguably the sweetest story in Richard Curtis’ Love Actually, about the friendship between his character Joe and Bill Nighy’s rock star Billy Mack.
Now though? Gregor Fisher is returning to the small screen for sitcom Only Child.

Caitriona Balfe in ‘Outlander’ season 7 episode 1 (Photo Credit: Starz)
After a year-long Droughtlander, Starz’s Outlander season seven episode one leaps right into the action, with Claire (Caitriona Balfe) being hung as a murderer. Of course, that doesn’t really happen. Unfortunately for Jamie (Sam Heughan), it’s a vision that’s haunting his every waking minute since being forcibly separated from the love of his life.
Jamie feels deep in his bones that Claire is still alive and is committed to finding her. With Young Ian (John Bell) at his side, nothing will stop the determined Scot from reuniting with the missing piece of his heart.
Claire’s indeed alive and doing as well as can be expected, given that she’s locked up in a Wilmington jail. Margit Tolliver (Liza Sadovy) is in charge of the jail, and she lays down the basic rules of the facility. Claire...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 6, Episode 4 of Outlander, “Hour of the Wolf.”] Outlander is continuing to shine a light on its characters outside of central couple Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) with its latest installment, “Hour of the Wolf.” For most of the hour-long episode, Outlander focuses the spotlight on the couple’s nephew, Ian Murray (John Bell) as he recounts his time with the Mohawk, and fills in some blanks that the audience and his family had previously been unaware of. Moving back and forth in time, the episode tells Ian’s story through a series of flashbacks juxtaposing with a visit he and Jamie make to the Cherokee to deliver the weapons supplied by Major MacDonald (Robin Laing) and the British Army. Below, we’re breaking down all of the key moments so beware of big spoilers ahead. (Credit: Starz) The episode opens with a ceremony of sorts where Ian is groomed...

New Zealand drama film “Poppy” resumed production on Friday, becoming the first local film in the country to start up after a hiatus caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
The film was in its final week of shooting when New Zealand’s ‘Level 4’ lockdown took effect on March 23. With the country now returned to a Level 2 state of virus alert, “Poppy” will now complete six days of filming and wrap up on Thursday.
“Poppy” is the debut feature for writer-director Linda Niccol. It tells the story of a young woman with Downs Syndrome who refuses to be defined by her disability and decides to take control of her life. Production is by Robin Laing and Alex Cole-Baker.
Production finance comes from the New Zealand Film Commission’s 125 Fund, a bespoke source launched in 2018 to celebrate New Zealand’s 125 years of universal suffrage. Other support for the production comes from Tvnz, Nz On Air,...

The intensity and performances in Harry Wootliff’s film are astounding. Laia Costa puts forward a performance nothing short of magical on-screen. A phenomenal accomplishment in an equally remarkable feature that dives deep into the testaments of love.
