Gordon Lam Ka-Tung is a Hong Kong actor and film producer. He began his career in 1988 after graduating from TVB's acting class. Initially taking on minor TV roles, Lam gained recognition in the mid-1990s. His lead role in the 1997 TV series "A Touch of Green" solidified his status as a good actor. After leaving TVB in 2001, he transitioned to film, signing with Andy Lau's talent management company.
Lam is a frequent collaborator in director Johnnie To's Milkyway Image films, such as "Exiled" and "Election." He has also appeared in many films involving Andy Lau, including "Firestorm" and "Infernal Affairs" series. His career reached a new peak in 2017 when he won the Best Actor award at the 36th Hong Kong Film Awards for his role in "Trivisa," making a clean sweep of major local best actor awards that year.
In 2020, he received his first Golden Horse Award nomination for Best Actor for "Hand Rolled Cigarette." He later achieved a rare double nomination for Best Actor at the 2022 Hong Kong Film Awards for his performances in both "Hand Rolled Cigarette" and "Limbo."
