Hulu is bringing back the binge release this September. The streamer has announced that all 10 episodes of Futurama Season 13 will be released on the same day.

Hulu Switches ‘Futurama’ Season 13 From Weekly to Binge Release; Shares Premiere Date and First Look Photos (Exclusive)

Image
Elio star Yonas Kibreab is plotting his next move. The 13-year-old actor will voice star in Pinocchio & the Water of Life, an indie animated feature he will also executive produce.

The film is a steampunk-inspired take on the classic story of the wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy. Victor Lakisov directs from a script by Mark DeCarlo and Ryan Rowe, based on the characters created by Italian author Carlo Collodi, who introduced the world to Pinocchio in 1883’s The Adventures of Pinocchio.

Per the logline, the film follows “Pinocchio and his sidekick Coot as they try to save his puppet friends from the villainous Faustino—who livestreams their destruction in nightly pay-per-view events.”

X-Men: All 7 Gambit actors ranked from worst to best
Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, and Hugh Jackman in X-Men (2000)
There have been some notable actors to play Gambit in X-Men media but how do they rank?

When Gambit debuted in the comics in 1990, he stood out nicely. The Cajun thief had a sneaky side and a mysterious past, but captivated readers with his slick accent, style, and mutant power to charge objects (usually playing cards) with kinetic energy to explode. Remy Labeau was soon a mainstay of the comics.

The character rose to prominence with the 1990s X-Men animated series. Over the years, there were plans to integrate him into the X-Men movies that never came about. He finally got there with a couple of live-action appearances and many more in animation and video games.

There have been seven official actors to play Gambit in X-Men media, with each bringing their own style and abilities to the role. Here’s how they rank to show who brought this raging...

Andor season 2's big recast should be an important lesson for Star Wars
Image
It’s hard to believe that there are just six episodes of Tony Gilroy’s Andor left, but as we scooch closer to the events of Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, some familiar faces from the galaxy far, far away are sure to stop by. Andor season 2 has already brought back Ben Mendelsohn’s villainous Orson Krennic to expand the Imperial director’s backstory, while Alan Tudyk is confirmed to reprise his role as K-2So. There are whispers we could see more of Mads Mikkelsen’s Galen Erso, and although the idea of Felicity Jones popping up might be a pipe dream, the fact that Andor is confirmed to collide with the start of Rogue One means anything is possible.

More than just old favorites, Andor has juggled his plenty of newcomers with a starring role for Diego Luna’s titular 'rebel scum”. Standouts like Stellan Skarsgård...

Andor Season 2 Quietly Recasts A Major Star Wars Character With A New Actor
Image
This articles contains spoilers for the second arc of the second season of "Andor."

Senator Bail Organa from Alderaan has been a storied figure in the "Star Wars" mythos from the very first installment in 1977, when Princess Leia Organa sent her holomessage recording to Obi-Wan Kenobi in his exile on Tatooine. It was the galaxy's most desperate hour: Bail asked Leia to retrieve Obi-Wan Kenobi and invite him back into the fold of the Rebellion and bring the Death Star plans to the Rebel base. But Darth Vader captured Leia, and made an example out of Alderaan by using the Death Star to turn it into space dust. Bail Organa met his tragic end among the Alderaanian citizens during that explosion, and was never seen on screen in the 1977 film.

The Bail Organa character wasn't actually seen in the flesh until 2002's "Attack of the Clones," when he was played by actor Jimmy Smits.

“We offered him the role without even hearing an audition”: Not Jason Isaacs, Only 1 Atla Voice Actor Was So Good He Got the Part by Default
Image
Turns out, not all casting calls need auditions. Sometimes, pure greatness just walks in. Back when the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender were assembling their dream team, one voice actor brought so much heat, they didn’t even bother with a test run. While Jason Isaacs had to earn his stripes as Zhao, this particular legend skipped the line entirely.

The performance was that iconic, locking down the role before a single word was spoken into a mic. And yep, it paid off. Because that voice? It practically bent its way into animation history.

Bring Back Justice League Unlimited: A DC Hero Who Was Merely a Dei Hire Became So Goated He Changed the Comics Forever

Justice League Unlimited was a show that introduced whole generations of viewers to some iconic versions of characters like Batman, Superman, and of course, Green Lantern. The latter of the three was allegedly added to the group instead of Hal Jordan to add some diversity to it. John Stewart remains one of most quintessential members of the Justice League, almost making it into the Dceu as well

However, as is the case with a lot of things in the Dcau, a slew of things made it into the comics, especially when it comes to the history of the character. The animated series was where John Stewart actually got his background as a marine, which became one of the most significant aspects of the character, even in the comics.

John Stewart was originally made to be a...

The Real Reason There Are Less Than 50 Viltrumites In Invincible
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Invincible."

The defining moment of "Invincible" comes early on in the comic (and in the very first episode of the series), when superhero Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) reveals himself as a brutal invader. After killing his fellow superheroes on the Guardians of the Globe, Nolan shares the truth with his son Mark/Invincible (Steven Yeun). Nolan's people, the Viltrumites, are an empire out to conquer all life in the universe. Long ago the Viltrumites battled amongst themselves to purge their gene pool of all but the "strongest." Now they've unleashed their near-insurmountable strength of the rest of the cosmos.

It's a scary premise for an alien race, like the Saiyans from "Dragon Ball" mixed with Nazi eugenicists, or if Krypton was full of only General Zods. An evil Superman archetype like Omni-Man is not exactly a novel idea, but it's gutting here because of the personal betrayal.

Star Trek’s Best Section 31 Movie Is The One They Aren’t Making
Image
A great premise for a Star Trek movie about Section 31, Starfleet's clandestine black ops division, was already set up in Star Trek: Lower Decks, but that's not the Section 31 movie that Paramount+ is actually making. Coming January 24, Star Trek: Section 31 is the first feature-length movie in Star Trek's streaming era. Star Trek: Section 31 is a spinoff of Star Trek: Discovery featuring Michelle Yeoh as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, and directed by Discovery's Olatunde Osunsanmi, with the darker and edgier tone that earlier seasons of Star Trek: Discovery embraced.

In the season 5 finale of Star Trek: Lower Decks, "The New Next Generation", the crew of the USS Cerritos thwarts a barrage of soliton energy that threatens to destroy Star Trek's Prime Universe by turning the rift into a stable multiversal portal. Captain William Boimler (Jack Quaid) and the crew of Section 31's Defiant-class Anaximander are poised to...

Warning: Spoilers For Star Trek: Lower Decks' Season 5 Finale - "The New Next Generation"

Star Trek: Lower Decks just promoted its First Officer to Captain, something Star Trek: The Next Generation never did for Commander William Riker (Jonathan Frakes). The wormhole becomes a permanently open gateway to the multiverse with Starbase 80 stationed at the rift's entrance.

With Starbase 80 now serving as the base of operations for the exploration of other quantum realities, Starfleet puts Captain Freeman in charge of supervising these missions. She and her husband, Admiral Alonzo Freeman (Phil Lamarr), move onto the station, and Starfleet promotes Commander Jack Ransom (Jerry O'Connell...

Brad Boimler (Jack Quaid) receives a message from his transporter clone, Captain William Boimler (Jack Quaid), that a devastating soliton wave is heading for Star Trek's Prime Universe.

Although Starfleet Command would usually not assign a California-class starship to take on a mission of this magnitude, they have no other choice but to rely on the Cerritos. Starfleet informs Captain Carol Freeman (Dawnn Lewis) and her crew that the USS Enterprise-e is on its way, but will not arrive in time.

Aaron Pierre Reveals the DC Series That Introduced Him to Green Lantern
Image
Having already commanded the screen in this year’s hit Netflix movie Rebel Ridge, Aaron Pierre will look to do the same as John Stewart in Lanterns, the new Dcu series that James Gunn says is slated to release at some point in 2026. Before we get there, though, Pierre recently shared how he was introduced to Stewart in the first place, and it’s all thanks to a beloved animated series that’s still held up as the gold standard of superhero shows.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly about his upcoming role in Lanterns, of which he said he "can't wait to get to work" on, the 30-year-old English actor revealed that he was just a kid when he first met Green Lantern, thanks to a short-lived Cartoon Network series that only lasted 39 episodes. Perhaps it’s one you’ve heard of?

I think Justice League Unlimited might have been one...

Invincible Season 3 Trailer Enters The "Blue Suit Era" As Kid-Omni-Man Makes His Debut
Image
The action-packed first trailer for the third season of Prime Video's acclaimed adult animated series, Invincible, debuted during Ccxp last night, and has now been officially released online (via Toonado.com).

Like the recent poster, the trailer gives away quite a few major plot points including the fact that Mark Grayson and Cecil Steamman ultimately become enemies after some particularly shady dealings from the latter.

We also get a first look at Oliver Grayson suited-up as Kid-Omni-Man (The Mauler Twins probably shouldn't be taking this youngster quite so lightly), a brand-new villain known as Powerplex, Mark donning his new costume, and much more.

Enter the "Blue Suit Era" by checking out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

Invincible Trailer Leaked Screenshots Tease Some Major Season 3 Moments
Image
The first trailer for the third season of acclaimed adult animated series, Invincible, is expected to debut during Ccxp at some point tomorrow, but Prime Video mistakenly shared it on the streaming site a little early.

The teaser was quickly taken down, but not before some audio and quite a few high-quality screenshots were posted online.

Like yesterday's poster, it looks like the trailer is going to give away quite a few major plot points, including the fact that Mark Grayson and Cecil Steamman ultimately become enemies after some particularly shady dealings from the latter.

None of this will come as a surprise to anyone who's read the comics, but just in case, here's a spoiler warning.

Invincible: First Official Season 3 Poster Reveals A Pretty Big Spoiler
Image
There was a significant gap (over two years) between the first and second seasons of Prime Video's Invincible, but we had been assured that the wait for season 3 wouldn't be as long, which was recently confirmed via the release of the first teaser.

Invincible will return to our screens on February 6, 2025 - and there will be no pesky mid-season break!

Now, the streamer has released the first official season 3 key art for the adult animated series, and if you're not familiar with the comics, the image counts as a pretty big spoiler!

The recent teaser saw a now 19-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) meeting with Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins) in a café in a similar set-up to the season 2 teaser with Allen the Alien. Cecil is not happy (for a change) with Mark taking a lengthy break from crime-fighting, and tells the young hero that he needs more training if...

'Watchmen: Chapter 2' Ending, Explained: Is This a New Beginning?
Image
The original Watchmen graphic novel was first published monthly through 1986 and 1987, before being compiled into a single volume in 1987. The comic was written by famed author Alan Moore, illustrated by artist Dave Gibbons and published by DC Comics. In the years since, Watchmen has had three major adaptations – a theatrical live action film directed by Zack Snyder in 2009, an HBO miniseries set in the universe of the comic in 2019, and most recently, an animated two-part film released this year.

This newest adaptation was directed by Brandon Vietti and produced by Warner Brothers. It’s not the first adaptation and is almost certainly not going to be the last, but it is the first that feels like the graphic novel given motion and is the most accurate adaptation of the original work to date.

Pixar’s First TV Show Did What The Studio’s $200 Million Movie Couldn’t And Is Still Incredibly Underrated 24 Years Later

Although Pixar has created a few TV shows in the years since 2000, the studio’s first cartoon did what Toy Story’s spinoff Lightyear couldn’t manage in 2022. Every Pixar movie has its champions, and the studio isn’t short of critical defenders. Pixar’s movies have fared incredibly well with reviewers, with no less than 11 of their feature film efforts winning Best Animated Feature at the Oscars. Only six Pixar movies weren’t nominated for any Academy Awards, and all of them were spinoffs, sequels, and prequels. One such movie was 2022’s box office failure Lightyear.

Pulp Fiction Director Quentin Tarantino Tricked Censors To Save the Most Disturbing Scene
Image
Quentin Tarantino's sophomore hit, Pulp Fiction, was filled with disturbing scenes, from Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) and Vincent (John Travolta) accidentally killing Marvin (Phil Lamarr), Mia Wallace's (Uma Thurman) overdose, and even Captain Koons (Christopher Walken) telling a young Butch (Bruce Willis) about his father's smuggled watch. But no scene in Pulp Fiction is more shocking than the gimp. Played by comedian Stephen Hibbert, the character is only known as Gimp, and has no lines in the movie. Tarantino was worried the censors would force him to cut the scene, so he blindsided them with an even more disturbing moment, that he never intended to leave in the final cut.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pulp Fiction, Phil Lamarr spoke with Variety about his brief time working on the crime classic, and revealed Tarantino's genius plan to trick the rating boards. In the final cut, Marvin is accidentally...

Pulp Fiction's Gimp Scene Was Saved By An Alternate Violent Death That Was Never Meant To Make The Final Cut
Image
Pulp Fiction star Phil Lamarr unveils new details about his character's death and what was cut and kept in the final version. Quentin Tarantino's 1994 crime drama explores the intersecting lives of various figures within the criminal underworld of Los Angeles. In the movie's "The Bonnie Situation" storyline, John Travolta's Vincent and Samuel L. Jackson's Jules are in the car with Lamarr's Marvin after an interrogation. However, an incident on the roadbed causes Vincent to accidentally kill Marvin, causing the vehicle to be covered in blood.

With Pulp Fiction celebrating its 30th anniversary, Lamarr opened up to Variety about how certain choices were made to ensure that the final cut would be released. Revealing that his character Marvin would have had a more drawn-out demise originally, it was argued that this fate would turn viewers on Vincent.

Originally, Marvin was supposed to get shot twice: once in the throat,...

The Inside Story of ‘Pulp Fiction’: 20 Creatives Break Down Making the ‘Tarantinoverse’ Look and Feel
Image
As ill-fated coffee shop burglar Pumpkin in Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction,” Tim Roth knows the truth about a privileged piece of movie mythology.

“We tend to know only as much as [our character] would know, but one thing that I do know because my character would know, which is what’s in the suitcase,” Roth reveals. “But Quentin asked me not to mention it.”

In a film full of mysteries, the contents of that sacred object remain among the biggest. But even without Jules Winnfield’s 9mm pistol pointed at his head, Roth is kind enough to volunteer an answer that, though perhaps slightly disappointing, is at least factually accurate. “I remember him saying that the answer if they ask you was, ‘A battery and a lamp’.”

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of “Pulp Fiction,” Variety spoke with more than 20 members of the film’s cast and crew about their experiences,...

Invincible Season 3 Teaser Leaks Online; Confirms February 2025 Return
Image
There was a significant gap (over two years) between the first and second seasons of Prime Video's Invincible animated series, but we had been assured that the wait for season 3 wouldn't be as long, and that's now been confirmed thanks to a leaked teaser.

Invincible will return to our screens on February 6, 2025 - and there will be no pesky mid-season break!

We have no idea how long this promo will stay up (and wouldn't be surprised if an official version was released fairly soon), but it finds a now 19-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) meeting with Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins) in a café in a similar set-up to the season 2 teaser with Allen the Alien.

Cecil is not happy (for a change) with Mark taking a lengthy break from crime-fighting, and tells the young hero that he needs more training if he hopes to face the oncoming Viltrumite threat. It's a fun teaser,...

20 Most Proficient Anime Swordsmen
Image
Anime swordsmen are always some of the most popular characters, as seeing someone who has gone through extensive training and practice to hone their skills and bring their techniques to perfection is not only impressive but also inspiring. Often wielding nothing but a sword, these characters can take on any challenge. No matter how intimidating their foes may seem, they rarely refuse a chance to practice.

Even in the realm of sword fighting, there are plenty of different fighting styles and techniques that can be employed. Some swordsmen may prefer to focus on quick and unexpected strikes, while others may wield oversized swords and overpower their enemies through raw strength. Whether they use a single sword or multiple, great swordsmen know how to adapt to any situation and overcome any obstacle. This list presents anime swordsmen not based on their raw destructive power but on their actual skills in wielding their weapon.

Rebel Ridge star Aaron Pierre joins HBO's Green Lantern series as John Stewart
Image
HBO's The Penguin may be my favorite show currently on the air, which is a little surprising because it's a superhero spinoff TV show and I go in to those worried they're just going to be lazy cash grabs. But HBO is knocking it out of the park with The Penguin, proving that a superhero show can be as gripping as anything else on the network.

That's good news, because there are more shows based on DC Comics coming down the pike. To wit: showrunner Chris Mundy, best known for his work as the showrunner on Ozark, will also serve as showrunner on Lanterns, a show about the Green Lantern Corps. Basically, the Green Lanterns are space cops who protect the galaxy by using magic rings that allow them to manifest their thoughts in physical form. The show is said to be a mystery series with some elements pulled from True Detective,...

‘Rebel Ridge’ Breakout Aaron Pierre to Play John Stewart in ‘Lanterns’ Series at HBO

“Rebel Ridge” breakout Aaron Pierre will play John Stewart in the “Lanterns” series at HBO.

Pierre will star opposite Kyle Chandler, who will play Hal Jordan in the DC adaptation. The series follows new recruit Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

“Lanterns,” which is produced in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, has received a straight-t0-series order from the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned network.

Chris Mundy will be showrunner and he’s set to co-write the series with fellow executive producers Damon Lindelof and Tom King.

“We’re thrilled to bring this seminal DC title to HBO with Chris, Damon and Tom at the helm,” DC Studios co-chairmen and co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran said in a joint statement. “John Stewart and Hal Jordan are two of DC’s most compelling characters,...

Ryan Reynolds Imagined as Fry in Live-Action Futurama Concept Trailer

A fan-made concept trailer has been made imagining a live-action adaptation of the animated series Futurama. Brie Larson and Ryan Reynolds are among the cast members picked for the concept trailer.

Posted by Multiverse of Movies on YouTube, the trailer has garnered more than 444K views in just over a week's time. The concept trailer was created with the use of AI-generated imagery using the likenesses of famous actors. While this makes the character older in the film than he was in the animated show, Philip J. Fry was cast with Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds, whose voice has also been replicated as the narrator. Brie Larson is also imagined in a major role as Leela, complete with one eye. The full video can be seen below.

Samuel L. Jackson Details More Gruesome Version of Iconic Pulp Fiction Scene in Original Script
Image
Pulp Fiction is a film that's certainly not without its violence, but one character's death scene was originally intended to be much more horrific. For better or for worse, the violence of the scene was ultimately toned down for the final cut.

In a new interview with GQ, Pulp Fiction star Samuel L. Jackson commented on the original scripted death of Marvin, a character played by Phil Lamarr. Marvin is accidentally shot in the face by Vincent Vega (John Travolta) during a car ride, splattering the gangster and his partner, Jules Winnfield (Jackson), with blood and brain matter. It was a quick and painless death for Marvin, certainly preferable to what was initially planned for his demise. As Jackson explained, the script was written so that Marvin would have instead been shot in the throat by Vincent, leaving it up to the trigger-happy hitman to put the poor guy out of his misery.

5 Actors Who Could Play John Stewart In James Gunn's Green Lantern TV Series
Image
Green Lantern has had a rough history on film. In 2011, Warner Bros. bet on the hero being their Iron Man; a B-lister underdog who could kick off a blockbuster franchise. "Green Lantern" starring Ryan Reynolds did not fly high so the character was almost completely absent from the DC Extended Universe. (None of the major Green Lanterns show up in either cut of "Justice League.")

Now, James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios is again looking to make the Green Lantern Corps an early fixture of their DC Films. Nathan Fillion is playing Guy Gardner in 2025's "Superman" and a "Lanterns" TV series is currently in development at HBO. A "True Detective" style murder mystery, "Lanterns" will star the two most famous comic Green Lanterns: Hal Jordan and John Stewart (not the one from "The Daily Show").

Kyle Chandler has recently been cast as Hal Jordan, so what about John?...
