Kurt was born in Yokosuka, Japan and grew up in Sunnyvale, California. He moved to Los Angeles in 1987. Kurt earned a BA from Cal State Northridge in TV Production in 1990 and in 2007 an MIA in Interior Architecture from UCLA. He has appeared on screen as himself (featured designer) in three episodes of HGTV's House Hunters Renovation. "A Baby on the Way", first aired February 6, 2016.
