Brie Larson is all set to release her cookbook, and she decided to promote it in the most creative way possible – The Nicki Minaj Stiletto Challenge. Thankfully, the actress wasn’t hurt while pulling off the stunt, but the same can’t be said for everyone, as an influencer broke her spine attempting the challenge that is viral on social media.

What is the Nicki Minaj Stiletto Challenge, you ask? It all began with the rapper’s 2013 music video for ‘High School‘ where she is seen chilling by the pool in her stilettos, crossing a leg over the other and balancing on the pointy heels.

Of course, social media had to take it a few steps further as the challenge involves wearing stilettos and balancing on random items with one foot. Whether it’s a can of soda or a dumbbell, users are going to great lengths for the viral challenge.

Jason Statham and Alan Ritchson's 'Fast X' Team-Up Is an American Streaming Hit
Image
Alan Ritchson is hard at work filming Reacher Season 4 right now, but ahead of its arrival, the star’s biggest box office hit is tearing up streaming charts. Ritchson stars alongside Jason Statham and Vin Diesel in Fast X, the 2023 Fast & Furious movie following Dom Toretto and his family, who are the targets of a brutal vengeance campaign by drug kingpin Hernan Reyes (Jason Momoa). Fast X is streaming on Starz in the United States and on Netflix globally, but it’s quietly crept into the Starz top 10 in America, sitting at #8. The film earned scores of 56% from critics and 84% from audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $704 million against a $340 million budget, which makes it one of the most expensive movies ever made.

Fast X recruited plenty of stars to bring the 10th Fast & Furious movie to life beyond Ritchson, Statham, and Momoa, though.

The 15 Most Powerful Marvel Characters, Ranked
Image
As long as there have been superhero stories, there have been debates over who is strongest. There's plenty of discourse between franchises, as comic book readers argue over who'd win in a fight: Superman or Sailor Moon? Spawn or Batman? The Hulk or Hellboy? It's hard to even come to a proper consensus in just one comic book franchise, with divided opinions over who the strongest Avengers in the MCU are, which gets more complicated with every new film that's released.

For Marvel especially, the comics are known for their massive stakes, including cosmic threats, reality-altering magic, and mythological gods and monsters. There's no shortage of characters in Marvel's canon who are canonically omnipotent, and plenty of Marvel characters who would absolutely destroy Superman. However, time and time again, these 15 Marvel characters prove themselves to have very few limits to their powers, whether they come from humble beginnings or have existed for thousands of years.

The Disney+ Curse: How the Streaming Service Hurt Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar Brands
Image
It was meant to be a cozy, celebratory get-together, with journalists gathering at Marvel Studios’ office in the Frank G. Wells building at Disney’s Burbank headquarters. At the event, held in early July, Kevin Feige, producer and president of Marvel Studios, was supposed to prime the pump for Marvel’s next big bet: “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”

But Feige wound up talking about something that his superheroes avoid at all costs: failure.

The producer explained that the period after 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” which capped off a period of the movies known as the Infinity Saga and wound up being one of the most successful movies of all time, was about experimentation. But the demands of Disney+, Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform that launched in November 2019, was also about expansion.

Feige specifically pointed to “The Marvels,” the sequel to 2019’s $1 billion-grossing “Captain Marvel,” which brought in $206 million globally, as...

Brie Larson Is Hooked on Donkey Kong Bananza, Says She Needs to “talk to someone about this game”

‘Super Visible: The Story Of The Women Of Marvel Comics’ Authors Reflect On Book’s Relevance In “Quieter Moment For Female Superheroes” At Comic-Con
Image
Although Marvel Studios did not make a presentation in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con this year, Gallery Books held a presentation of Super Visible: The Story of the Women of Marvel Comics Sunday afternoon in a return to the roots of the convention: fan and community engagement.

Written by Beautiful Creatures author Margaret Stohl, former Marvel Entertainment editor Jeanine Schaefer and producer and Women of Marvel podcast host Judith Stephens, the book delves into the experiences of women behind Marvel Entertainment — from the early days of the comics to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“We talked to some of the movie people that had come into earlier chapters, but we really had to focus less on Marvel Studios by the end. This book was done with permission of Marvel, and Marvel Entertainment was so cool about it,” Stohl told Deadline on Saturday morning. “There also would have been five more years of an approval process.

MCU Multiverse Saga Movies Ranked According To Rotten Tomatoes (Including The Fantastic Four: First Steps)
Image
Love or hate it, Rotten Tomatoes has become a crucial tool in helping many moviegoers decide whether they want to watch a newly released movie. And, for studios, those "Certified Fresh" badges have become a huge part of pre- and post-release marketing campaigns.

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has delivered hit after hit since Iron Man was released in 2008, the Multiverse Saga has been a mixed bag. That's apparent from this Saga delivering not one, not two, but three "Rotten" movies.

Is the Multiverse Saga really as bad as some would have you believe? It's been a tad inconsistent, yes, but how does this era of storytelling stack up in terms of those all-important percentage scores on Rotten Tomatoes? Captain America: Brave New World didn't fare too well, but Thunderbolts* was rightly hailed as a return to form for Marvel Studios. The Fantastic Four: First Steps has proven to be another huge win.

All 37 MCU Movies Ranked
Image
Most of Marvel Studios’s films are the cinematic equivalent of breadcrumbs, which have been dropped into theaters strategically so as to keep one looking for the next sequel or crossover, when the endless televisual exposition will eventually, theoretically yield an event of actual consequence. Occasionally, however, a Marvel film transcends this impersonality and justifies one’s patience. Weird, stylish, and surprisingly lyrical, Ant-Man, Iron Man 3, and Doctor Strange attest to the benefits of the old Hollywood-style studio system that Marvel has resurrected: Under the umbrella of structure and quota is security, which can bequeath qualified freedom. On the occasion of the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, here’s a ranking of every film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to date. Chuck Bowen

Kevin Feige Stands Firm: Marvel Won’t Back Away from Diversity Despite Industry Pushback
Image
Hollywood has seen a lot of drama lately around diversity, equity, and inclusion—often called Dei. Many studios have quietly pulled back on their Dei efforts because of pressure from critics, especially with Donald Trump back in the White House pushing against these programs.

But Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says his studio isn’t giving up on trying to make movies that reflect the real world.

Feige told reporters, “I said this before ‘woke’ and ‘Dei’ became a thing and I’m still saying it after: Marvel is the world outside your window. It’s not Gotham City and Metropolis. This is New York and L.A.. And yes, there’s also Wakanda and Asgard, but it is all made up of the people who make up our world.”

This isn’t just talk for Feige. The success of “Black Panther” back in 2018 proved that diverse stories can be huge hits.

Kevin Feige Calls This MCU Actress “One of the Greatest Castings Ever”
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its perfect casting choices. For example, fans everywhere instantly link Robert Downey Jr. to Iron Man, Chris Evans to Captain America, and Scarlett Johansson to Black Widow and so on. Over the years, Marvel Studios has built a reputation for picking the right actors to bring their heroes to life.

Now, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, has shared who he considers one of their best casting decisions. In a recent chat with reporters, Feige pointed to Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel. “She’s one of the greatest bits of casting we’ve ever done,” Feige said, adding, “I can’t wait to see her somewhere.”

For those who don’t know, Vellani was just a newcomer when she got the role of Kamala Khan. Back in 2020, her aunt spotted a casting call and encouraged her to audition. After sending in a self-taped audition,...

Image
Academy Award-winning star Jamie Lee Curtis has shared her reaction to the possibility of starring in her own spinoff of FX’s The Bear series. For her Season 3 performance as Donna Berzatto, Curtis recently received another Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

During a recent interview with Variety, when asked about potentially starring in a Donna spinoff, Curtis immediately shut down the idea with a “Never, never” response, revealing her lack of interest in getting her own The Bear spinoff. In addition, the Halloween vet also opened up about what it was like to receive another Emmy nomination for playing the complicated role of Donna Berzatto.

“I can’t believe it,” Curtis said. “It’s just beautiful. It’s a beautiful show, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I love it. I’m a fan of the show. I was a fan from the beginning,...

Kevin Feige Stands by Marvel’s Diversity: ‘Marvel Is the World Outside Your Window’
Image
While right-wing backlash against Hollywood’s efforts at diversity, equity and inclusion — or Dei — has led studios to back off of corporate efforts to advance the practice, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said he stands by his studio’s efforts over the past several years to increase representation on set and on the big screen with characters like Black Panther and Ms. Marvel, and suggested that the MCU won’t be pivoting away from that.

“I said this before ‘woke’ and ‘Dei’ became a thing and I’m still saying it after: Marvel is the world outside your window,” Feige told reporters on Friday. “It’s not Gotham City and Metropolis. This is New York and L.A.. And yes, there’s also Wakanda and Asgard, but it is all made up of the people who make up our world.”

In 2018, Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther” became one of Marvel...

'Jurassic World Rebirth' Pummels $185 Million MonsterVerse Blockbuster at Global Box Office
Image
Having completed two weeks of release in theaters worldwide, Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirthis on the verge of passing the $300 million milestone domestically and the $600 million mark worldwide. The seventh installment of the blockbuster action-adventure franchise has a rather cynical origin story, entering pre-production without a director attached. But the studio’s decision has been validated by the movie's box office performance. Rebirth should comfortably cruise past the $700 million milestone this weekend, but on its third Friday, it celebrated passing the lifetime global haul of Warner Bros.’ Kong: Skull Island, the second installment of the studio’s MonsterVerse franchise.

This comes days after Rebirth passed the $550 million lifetime global haul of Peter Jackson’s King Kong. With around $580 million worldwide, the film has overtaken the $571 million lifetime haul of Kong: Skull Island, which debuted in 2017 and earned mostly positive reviews. In fact, it was the MonsterVerse’s highest-grossing movie until last year,...
