We have some exclusive photos from the film that reveal the horrendous crimes of Mr. Shiny and the lengths he goes to create horrific tableaus…

'Strange Harvest' Promises To Be the Sleeper Horror Hit of 2025
Image
There's no denying that 2025 has already been filled with some great horror movies. The Monkey, 28 Years Later, and Final Destination Bloodlines all managed to impress, but there's one film that's flown under the radar that could just be the sleeper hit of the year. Titled Strange Harvest: Occult Murder in the Inland Empire, the terrifying new mocumentary hits theaters on August 8, and it already has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94% thanks to its festival appearances. If the newly released trailer is any indication of anything, horror fans definitely need to add this one to their watch list, because it's poised to become the talk of the community later this year.

Directed by Stuart Ortiz (Grave Encounters), Strange Harvest stars Peter Zizzo, Terri Apple, Andy Lauer, and Matthew Peschio. The film focuses on a couple of detectives who are thrust into a chilling hunt for Mr. Shiny – a sadistic serial...

View terrifying found footage in the trailer for Strange Harvest
Image
Saban Films and Roadside Attractions have just released the trailer for the chilling new found footage horror film Strange Harvest. The movie comes from writer-director Stuart Ortiz, who is known for Grave Encounters. Strange Harvest is a hauntingly grounded thriller that introduces “Mr. Shiny,” a serial killer at the center of a terrifying and otherworldly mystery. The movie uses various methods of voyeuristic point-of-views in a twist on the usual found footage formula as we see the action through webcams, news outlets and body cams.

The official synopsis for Strange Harvest from Saban and Roadside Attractions reads,

“Detectives are thrust into a chilling hunt for “Mr. Shiny”—a sadistic serial killer from the past whose return marks the beginning of a new wave of grotesque, otherworldly crimes tied to a dark cosmic force.” The movie stars Peter Zizzo, Terri Apple, Andy Lauer, Matthew Peschio, Janna Cardia, Travis Wolfe Sr. and Christina Helene Braa.

Meet Mr. Shiny in Serial Killer Horror 'Strange Harvest' Official Trailer
Image
"We are begging for you to help us!" Saban Films & Roadside Attractions have debuted the trailer for an indie horror thriller film titled Strange Harvest, the latest from filmmaker Stuart Ortiz (also the director of Grave Encounters). Not to be confused with either The Strangers series or the other film titled Harvest with Caleb Landry Jones. This is a chilling new found footage thriller that introduces "Mr. Shiny," a serial killer at the center of a terrifying and otherworldly mystery in Inland Empire. Detectives are thrust into a chilling hunt for "Mr. Shiny" — a sadistic serial killer from the past whose return marks the beginning of a new wave of grotesque, otherworldly crimes tied to a dark cosmic force. The horror film stars Peter Zizzo, Terri Apple, Andy Lauer, Matthew Peschio, Janna Cardia, Travis Wolfe Sr, & Christina Helene Braa. All this grainy, jittery cam footage doesn't make this look any good.

Zara slips out of bed as her husband Robert sleeps. She goes downstairs, pulls a small box out of a trunk and looks through the book of sinister-looking drawings it contains. She’s about to go from aspiring actress and abused wife to the seductress from hell.

Post credits we see them at the breakfast table, she’s waiting for a callback for a part and he’s being an obnoxious prick. The thing is he’s not wrong in saying if they have money troubles she should get an actual job, she made less than $10K last year, it’s the belligerent, demeaning way he says it that’s the problem. That belligerence only gets worse as time goes on, leading to Robert forcing himself on her, and, after...

‘Swim’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Jennifer Field, Andy Lauer, Brett Hargrave, Daniel Grogan, Joey Lawrence, Addison Bowman, Rib Hillis | Written by Anthony C. Ferrante | Directed by Jared Cohn

It was bound to happen. Netflix started making and showing original movies, then Amazon, and then Tubi followed suit with Swim. But as Tubi is not a thing here in the UK (thanks Gdpr) we’ve instead had to wait almost two years for the film to hit Blighty. However, don’t get too excited. Given their budget and “free with commercials” format of its source, this isn’t The Irishman or The Tomorrow War. This shark in the house film was made by The Asylum and their frequent director Jared Cohn from a script by Anthony C. Ferrante… so don’t expect Jaws either!

The Samson family Lacey, her father Noah, and kids Charlotte (Brett Hargrave; Weedjies: Halloweed Night) and Tucker (Daniel Grogan) are renting a beach house.

Indie Web Series Vampire Mob Back For Season 2
Kirsten Vangsness in Vampire Mob (2010)
Award winning filmmaker Joe Wilson brings us Vampire Mob, an indie web series showcasing a hitman vampire forced to live with his mother-in-law, for eternity. The series is completely independent, getting its money strictly through audience donations; they raised over $10,000 in order to create their story.

“After losing all our money on Kickstarter, we raised the budget of $10,000 on our own site and got to make a story – no network, no company, no FCC, no sponsor – nothing to fuck it up! Web Series Vampire Mob - A Totally Indie Effort - Returns for Season 2

Just people helping people tell a story. We shot an 80-page script with 23 actors, and I've never worked harder making a project happen than this one! Online Buzz Doesnt Sell Movie Tickets? Hogwash
Andy Lauer at IndieWire did a very interesting article and there is one piece of it in particular that caught my eye and made me laugh. Ted Mundorff who is the CEO of LandMark Theaters has made a bold statement about the irrelevance of online film critics and I think he is dead wrong. According to him the Local Print Critic is the most important critic because without them tickets wont get sold. He also goes on to say some things about those of us who write online; “We’re scared to death that critics have gone away. Wire services don’t cut it. Those reviews, the aggregato...
