With production just about wrapping up on Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel fans are making one last attempt to alter the upcoming McU sequel. A petition on Change.org is calling for Tobey Maguire, the first actor to play Spider-Man on cinema screens in Sam Raimi’s trilogy, to show up for a quick cameo. Specifically, as a random pizza guy.
The idea seems to have really caught the imagination of fans of the Og Spidey as the petition currently has 38,950 signatures and it’s growing larger and larger every minute. Owen Lee, who started it, wrote the following explanation for why he thinks it’d be cool for Maguire to return to the franchise, even in just a small role – which would, of course, callback to Peter Parker’s profession in Spider-Man 2.
