Per FlixPatrol, a day after the Tubi original’s debut on Amazon Prime, the movie has risen to the #8 spot, while Statham’s Homefront dropped to #10. With The Thicket debuting in the top 10, we can expect the movie to rise to a better spot on the charts in the coming days and weeks.

SixDegrees.org, the nonprofit founded by Kevin Bacon, has launched #IGetIt, a nationwide mental health movement aimed at normalizing the conversation and making mental health support more visible and accessible.

Designed to spark authentic conversations and share everyday tools for well-being, #IGetIt unites celebrities, nonprofits, and communities to say you’re not alone, and we get it.

Alongside Bacon, fellow actors including Rachelle Lefevre, mental health advocates like the Frost family, and brands like Natural Life have joined the campaign, sharing on social media what helps them reset, recharge, and feel grounded.

Exclusive: Preston Oliver (Secrets of Sulphur Springs), West Mulholland (Steven Soderbergh’s Presence), Ruby Rose Turner (Descendants: The Rise of Red), and Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight) have wrapped production on Someone Saved My Life, a period drama based on the Bloomington, Indiana childhood of Angelo Pizzo, the multi-hyphenate behind titles like Rudy and Hoosiers.

Set in the 1960s, the film follows junior high schooler Dean (Oliver), who strikes up a friendship with the vibrant yet reckless Roy (Mulholland), in an effort to escape his mother’s (Lefevre) controlling grasp. But when the boys’ friendship threatens Dean’s budding romance with Beth (Turner) and his own well-being, Dean must find his own voice, or risk following Roy down an increasingly dangerous path.

Pizzo directed from his own script. Bradley Gallo and Michael A. Helfant produced for Amasia Entertainment, with Jo Throckmorton and Joseph Stern (Judging Amy) also producing. Pizzo exec produced alongside Michael Leahy, Josh Sathre for Amasia, and Sugar Studios CEO Jijo Reed.

Twilight fans will soon be able to go back to where it all started thanks to Lego, as the company has officially unveiled the newest set in their Ideas line, Twilight: The Cullen House. The "Twilight" Saga is one of those film franchises that is so ungodly profitable and popular in the zeitgeist that even people who have never seen a single clip beyond a gif of Edward Cullen sparkling in the sunlight and declaring "This is the skin of a killer, Bella" at least know the general story beats. It's a love triangle between the vampiric Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a werewolf named Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), and the most average girl in the world, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). The entire "Twilight" phenomenon was stupid lightning in a stupid bottle, and I doubt author Stephenie Meyer could have ever predicted her relatively chaste, monster-loving Mormon stories had the power to completely change the landscape of teen girl cinema forever.

It may only be July, but fans of Christmas are already clamoring for Hallmark’s festive schedule. Whether airing on Hallmark Channel or Hallmark+ a list is exciting and that’s without mentioning Countdown to Christmas and its 15th anniversary.

Hallmark Media has announced a new, original limited series, Holidazed, set to air during the holiday season exclusively on Hallmark+.

At the TCA Summer 2024, Hallmark announced its first holiday series Holidazed. Filmed nearly two years ago, this is a highly-anticipated series that promises laughs and lots of Christmas. The stars in this series have had to keep this series under wraps for a very long time. Finally, they can talk about it.

According to TV Line, starring in this new holiday series are Ser’Darius Blain, Lindy Booth, Erin Cahill, Osric Chau, Nazneen Contractor, Loretta Devine, Noemi Gonzalez, Ian Harding, Dennis Haysbert, Rachelle Lefevre, Virginia Madsen, John C. Another streaming service is arriving for consumers.

This time, it’s Hallmark+, which is launching in mid-September. Talking with reporters Thursday in Pasadena, President and CEO Mike Perry said the new platform would cost $80 a year and offer the “very best of Hallmark with new exclusive content and membership benefits program.” That includes e-cards and “surprising gifts.”

In other words, members will apparently earn reward points based on content that they are watching. Those points, or rewards, can be used in Hallmark stores.

“It’s symbiotic between streaming and our retail and digital footprint,” said Chief Brand Officer Darren Abbott. “We give content to inspire their lives and their rewards to help them live it.”

“Shoppers are viewers, viewers are shoppers,” added Perry.

The execs added that its partnership with Peacock will continue.

Under the Dome ended after season 3, possibly due to declining ratings and increasingly negative reviews. The show pioneered a new type of summer TV programming and paved the way for other original summer series. Despite leaving the possibility open for another season, the show ended with a satisfying conclusion according to showrunner Neal Baer.

Under the Dome season 4 is not in the works, but the reason for the show ending is unclear. Premiering in January 2013 on CBS, Under the Dome is the only adaptation of Stephen King's 2009 book. The story depicts the small town of Chester's Mill that, one day, suddenly has a giant, impenetrable, invisible dome fall around it, separating the inhabitants from the outside world. While the United States government attempts to break its way in, the citizens of the town begin to compete for dwindling resources as tensions rise and panic takes hold.

Upon a re-watch of the Twilight saga, the recasting of Victoria is an awkwardly handled plot point that derails the flow of the movie adaptations. The Twilight movie adaptations are by no means perfect. Andrew Szusterman will be the managing director of the Auckland-based South Pacific Pictures from February 2020.

Szusterman joins the company from Mediaworks, where has worked for the last 17 years, most recently as chief content officer, responsible for programming across the company’s TV, radio and digital platforms.

He will work with South Pacific Pictures’ CEO Kelly Martin and head of production Sally Campbell, bringing his knowledge of local and international audiences to the company.

“South Pacific Pictures are thrilled to have Andrew coming on board in 2020,” says Martin.

“He brings a wealth of experience and expertise, and we know he will be a huge asset to the company.”

Szusterman is looking forward to the new opportunity. “It’s great to be joining one of New Zealand’s most iconic film and television studios at such a vibrant time for the production community,” he says.

AMC-owned streamer Acorn TV has secured a new distribution deal with ABC Commercial for a significant range of local content for its Anz-based subscription service, and has partnered with Sky Nz to commission Kiwi thriller The Sounds.

The new ABC agreement will include Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Jungle Entertainment’s A Moody Christmas and The Moodys. The agreement also lists UK productions Kingdom, Shameless and made for television film, Churchill’s Secret. All ABC content in the agreement will be available to stream in locally September and October.

ABC Commercial has been a founding content partner for Acorn TV, which re-launched in 2018 in North America and recently hit the 1 million subscribers.

Created and co-written by author Sarah-Kate Lynch, the eight-part series is made by All3Media’s New Zealand production company South Pacific Pictures and Toronto-based Shaftesbury.

It follows a married couple who move to a new town to escape their family. But when Maggie’s husband Tom disappears, it re-opens old wounds and secrets about the seemingly close community in which they live.

The Sounds stars Rachelle Lefevre, who featured in CBS series Under the Dome and White House Down, and Narcos actor Matt Whelan in the lead roles. Multi-hyphenated Canadian Peter Stebbings is directing.

AMC Networks-owned streamer Acorn TV, Kiwi pay-tv platform Sky Nz, and Canadian pubcaster CBC are tuning into “The Sounds,” an original thriller set on New Zealand’s South Island.

The eight-parter will star Rachelle Lefevre (“Under the Dome”) and Matt Whelan (“Narcos”) as a couple who move to Marlborough Sounds to start a new life. When Tom disappears, unsettling facts about him soon come to light, and the search brings long-buried wounds to the surface.

Matt Nable (“Arrow”) will co-star. The cast also includes Emily Piggford (“The Girlfriend Experience”), Peter Elliott (“Tarzan”), Anna-Maree Thomas (“The Brokenwood Mysteries”), and Vanessa Rare (“Last Man Standing”).

All3Media’s New Zealand production company South Pacific Pictures and Toronto-based Shaftesbury are co-producing the show, which will bow in 2020. The crime drama has been canceled after one season, less than 24 hours after the conclusion of Proven Innocent Season 1.

The series averaged 2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the demo on Fridays this season. 

Among Fox's sixteen scripted series, the show came in dead last, so the odds were always stacked against it making the cut for a sophomore season.
