Voldemort May Have Been the Big Bad, but a More Sinister Harry Potter Villain Was Right Under Our Noses the Whole Time
Image
The Harry Potterfranchise has plenty of villains to hate. The antagonists range from Hogwarts bully Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) to the Dark Lord himself, each presenting a different challenge to Harry (Daniel Radcliffe). But, despite his crucial role, even Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) isn't the worst the series has to offer. With antagonists like Umbridge (Imelda Staunton), whose self-righteous, sickly sweet attitude earns her a place among the most hated characters, and Fenrir Greyback (Dave Legeno), whose unique brand of violence is especially dark, it's hard to see Voldemort as the worst. He may be the central antagonist of Harry Potter, but Voldemort isn't the most evil character in the story. That honor goes to Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter), the dedicated Death Eater, who, while not the leader of the organization, does the dirty work, unlike Voldemort himself.

Netflix’s “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” Horror Series Enlists “Baby Reindeer” Director
Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Caleb McLaughlin, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, and Gaten Matarazzo in Stranger Things (2016)
Netflix has ordered up horror drama series “Something Very Bad is Going to Happen” from producers The Duffer Brothers (“Stranger Things”). Today, Deadline reports that the series has found its stars and enlisted “Baby Reindeer” director Weronika Tofilska to helm four episodes.

Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & The Six, Death Wish) and Adam Dimarco are set to star in the Haley Z. Boston-created horror drama.

As for the plot, the series is “an atmospheric horror series set at a wedding, following a bride (Morrone) and groom (Dimarco) in the week leading up to their ill-fated nuptials. That’s not a spoiler – just read the title…”

Haley Z. Boston serves as series showrunner and executive producer. Boston is no stranger to horror, either, having previously written for Netflix’s “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities “and “Brand New Cherry Flavor.“ That alone bodes well for a series described as “atmospheric horror.

Harry Potter: The Complete Weasley Family Tree Explained (In Detail)
Image
An ancient wizarding family, the Weasley family tree is extensive and filled with some of the most important characters in the Harry Potter universe. After Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) saves Arthur Weasley (Mark Williams) from an attack by Nagini, Molly Weasley (Julie Walters) hugs Harry and tells him, "...it was a lucky day for the Weasleys when Ron decided to sit in your compartment on the Hogwarts Express, Harry." The opposite is also true because the Weasley family has helped Harry more times than anyone can count.

A very poor, very old, and very loving family, the Weasleys' unsaid invitation for Harry to be a part of their clan is just as important an invitation as the one brought to him by an owl at the beginning of The Sorcerer's Stone. The Weasley family is large with some siblings who are only hinted at until they're introduced later. From their...

This Roman War Movie Was a Box Office Bomb but Is Streaming for Free
Image
Quick Links What Is Neil Marshall's Centurion About? Where Have You Seen the Cast of Centurion? How Much Did Centurion Make, and Where Can You Stream It? Centurion, a departure from Neil Marshall's usual work, balances character-building with gruesome violence effectively. Despite its box office struggles, Centurion boasts a star-studded cast and well-choreographed action sequences. The film, set during the Roman conquest of Britain, features strong performances from Michael Fassbender and Olga Kurylenko.

Neil Marshall's Centurion is quite a bit different from his other movies. Whether it's the superb one-two horror combo of Dog Soldiers and The Descent or the misguided Hellboy reboot, this sword-fight-filled movie is an anomaly in the talented director's filmography. But it does carry his standard ability to mix solid character-building with gruesome violence. Though, as critics were quick to point out, it favors the latter over the former.

Yet, period pieces are far from...

‘Sheroes’ Review
Image
Stars: Sasha Luss, Isabelle Fuhrman, Wallis Day, Skai Jackson, Jack Kesy | Written and Directed by Jordan Gertner

Sheroes, the writing and directing debut of producer Jordan Gertner begins with a look into the lives of its four leads Diamond, Ezra, Ryder and Daisy.

Their lives are so hard that all of them end up exclaiming “This is such fucking bullshit” at the misery of private yoga lessons by the pool, selling art in an upscale gallery, being an actress or a professional skateboarder. You really feel bad for these poor young ladies and totally understand their need to jump on Diamond’s father’s private jet and fly to his villa in Thailand for a booze and drug-fueled vacation.

Complications and cliches ensue when one of their suitcases is accidentally switched with one full of cocaine. Which they proceed to snort the hell out of only to wake up the...

Match #1: Solo Sikoa def. Sheamus The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the height of an explosive showdown pitting Sheamus against Solo Sikoa, interference from The Usos incited a brawl between The Bloodline and The Brawling Brutes outside the ring. During the bedlam, Sikoa overcame Sheamus with the Samoan Spike – a tribute to the late great Samoan Superstar Umaga. After the matchup, Ridge Holland & Butch were swiftly taken out of the equation, paving the way for The Enforcer to cause further damage on his defeated opponent with a steel chair. Before he could, though, Drew McIntyre suddenly reemerged on SmackDown and cleared the ring!

‘Sword of Vengeance’ VOD Review
Stars: Stanley Weber, Annabelle Wallis, Edward Akrout, Ed Skrein, Karel Roden, Dave Legeno, Gianni Giardinelli, Peter J. Chaffey, Milica Jevtic | Written by Matthew Read, Julian Unthank | Directed by Jim Weedon

I really wanted to like Sword of Vengeance, I really did. Billed as “an almighty clash between Hammer of the Gods and Game of Thrones”, the film comes from the same people that worked on Nicolas Winding-Refn’s Valhalla Rising – to be fair that should have thrown up a warning or two given how much I hated that film – and tells the story of the Shadow Walker (Weber) who, cast out by the ruthless king, is searching for a new place to call home but clashes with many of the kingdom’s inhabitants along his journey. His story crosses paths with that of warrior Anna (Wallis) who, after the death of her husband, is called upon to lead her fellow Saxons into battle.

After years of slavery, a Norman Prince (Weber) returns to the lost lands to seek revenge on his father’s murderer by leading a band of farmers in bloody retribution. Kristen Stewart is The One in Another Snow White and the Huntsman Clip
The latest clip from Rupert Sanders’ “Snow White and the Huntsman” finds the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) discovering just how special Snow white (Kristen Stewart) is. In a word: she’s The One. Kinda like Neo. Minus the black leather, cool shades, and bad attempts at “knowing kung fu”. Kinda the same, though. In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power. Also starring Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin,...

Asylum Blackout: Not Arkham Asylum, But What Could Be? (Review)
Having never been in a high security mental institution I can only imagine what the interaction between cook and patient really is. I keep thinking of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest… Nurse Ratchet. McMurphy. Chief. It would seem to me it’s a rather humorous place to be if you just take the Ken Kesey angle (until Billy kills himself… then it’s no fun for anyone). Maybe the institution of Asylum Blackout is more like Arkham Asylum from the world of Batman. Dark. Demented. The patients ready to get out and exact revenge, insanely, on a staff that cared too little. Mostly I think of the thorazine shuffle. I think of heavily medicated folks drooling on themselves meandering about their padded cell. With that in mind, when I tell you that Asylum Blackout didn’t quite do it for me, it’s not for the lack of...

New Snow White and the Huntsman Posters
Check out three new character posters for Rupert Sanders’ “Snow White and the Huntsman” focusing on the movie’s three main leads, plus a fourth poster featuring all three. You’ll notice the lack of Sam Claflin’s The Prince, which again makes me wonder if the Chris Hemsworth’s The Huntsman is the love interest to Kristen Stewart’s Snow White here? I guess we’ll find out in June. A “re-imagining” of the Snow White story, “Snow White and the Huntsman” finds an all-grown up Snow White fleeing from the murderous grasps of the Evil Queen, only to return with an army to take back the kingdom. All manner of sword-slinging, magic-casting, and Charlize Theron looking ridiculously hot ensue. The film also co-stars Ian McShane, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Ray Winstone, Dave Legeno, Edgar Wright, Lily Cole, Stephen Graham, Bob Hoskins, and Eddie Marsan. Saving the kingdom June...

Snow White vs. The Queen in New Snow White and the Huntsman Clip
Take a gander at a new clip from Rupert Sanders’ “Snow White and the Huntsman”, which appears to be from much later in the film. As in, probably the last few minutes. I’m frankly surprised they’re showing this. Usually studios don’t give away anything from the Third Act of their movies, and this looks exactly just that. The clip features Kristen Stewart as Snow White, all armored up for battle, facing off Charlize Theron’s evil Queen Ravenna. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman and Sam Claflin as the Prince are, er, otherwise occupied. Looks like the girls will have to settle this one! “Snow White and the Huntsman” also stars Ian McShane, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Ray Winstone, Dave Legeno, Edgar Wright, Lily Cole, Stephen Graham, Bob Hoskins, and Eddie Marsan. The grudge match goes down June 1, 2012. Get more images and videos in our “Snow White and the Huntsman” preview page.

It’s not ideal, but George (Rupert [ Read More ]...
