‘Glee’ Cast Members Reunite For Song Remembrance Of The Late Naya Rivera
Image
Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, and other Glee cast members have reunited to add their voices to a previously unreleased song by their late costar, Naya Rivera.

Prayers for the Broken was recorded by Rivera in 2012. New background vocals have been added by McHale, Ushkowitz, Riley, Heather Morris, Vanessa Lengies, and Ashley Fink.

The song is now available online for download, streaming, or purchase, released as part of nonprofit Alexandria House’s annual Snixxmas Charity Fundraiser honoring Rivera, who was a supporter of the Los Angeles-based charity. The organization provides safe and supportive housing for women and children.

“We hope that ‘Prayer for the Broken’ brings you the same comfort it has brought us over the years — a poignant reminder of Naya’s otherworldly talent and a heartfelt gift, allowing us to hear her once more through this inspiring message,” the organization wrote on its website.

Glee Cast Join Forces on the SAG-AFTRA Picket Line
Image
The cast of Glee reunites on the picket line to support the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and show solidarity with their union. Glee achieved enormous success and impacted the careers of its stars, but not all cast members were able to sustain that popularity post-show. Actor Darren Criss emphasizes the importance of the strike, stating that they are working creative people who need protection, not just famous movie stars.

The cast of Glee reunites on the SAG-AFTRA picket line, more than 14 years after the premiere of the show and almost 9 years after it ended. Glee has become one of the most popular TV shows in history, especially among young audiences. Created by Ryan Murphy, the series followed a group of students from William McKinley High School from Lima, Ohio, who were part of the school choir team. Corey Sevier Talks Acting and Directing Take Me Back For Christmas
Corey Sevier
There's no doubt how entertainment can affect us. It can be moving and thrilling and take us places we never imagined we go.

It can also bring us together through shared experiences.

Sometimes, it does a little of everything, as I discovered during a recent interview with Corey Sevier about his Christmas in July movie airing tonight, Take Me Back for Christmas.

This is a movie very close to Sevier's heart, as his wife Kate Pragnell wrote the script, and he directed the film.

He also costars with Vanessa Lengies, who starred alongside him in another Hallmark movie, Heart of the Holidays, and whom he had known since he was ten, having met when he starred on Lassie.

I've always been a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies that do the unexpected, and Lengies stars in the movie as Renee, who always dreamed of owning her own business. But when her mother got sick,...

‘Turner & Hooch’: A Dog Has His Day Again
Image
In 1989, just months after he earned his first Oscar nomination for Big, and a few years before he went on a run of critical and commercial success that’s nearly unrivaled in the history of cinema, Tom Hanks starred in a series of middling movies that never would’ve suggested the megastar he’d become. One of these was Turner & Hooch, which starred Hanks as fastidious small-town cop Scott Turner, whose life is upended when he takes in a big, messy French mastiff named Hooch. It was a modest success,...

‘Turner & Hooch’ Cast Reflects on Working With Five French Mastiffs for Disney Plus Series
Image
In preparing for his eponymous starring role in “Turner & Hooch,” Josh Peck got the Manny Pacquiao treatment.

“I did physical fight training with Justin Fortune, who trains Manny Pacquiao. If someone drops out of the next Logan Paul fight, maybe I’ll hop in,” Peck told Variety at the Disney Plus series premiere event on Thursday.

Taking place at Westfield Century City, the pooch-filled premiere event featured set pieces from the show and dog-friendly “Puptails,” including the “Muttjito” (beef bone broth garnished with mint) and the “Blueberry Pawtini” (turkey bone broth garnished with duck jerky and a blueberry).

In “Turner & Hooch,” based on the Tom Hanks film from 1989, Peck plays Hanks’ character’s son, also named Scott Turner. A U.S. Marshal looking to advance his career, Turner finds his life turned upside down by an oversized, slobbering dog named Hooch.

“Tom Hanks is the goal, right?” Peck said.

Turner & Hooch Trailer Arrives with a Surprising Death on Disney+
Image
We have the first trailer for Disney's Turner & Hooch TV show. And the Disney+ series has not pulled any punches as the sneak peek comes with a pretty surprising reveal right off the bat. Josh Peck, of Drake & Josh fame, is starring in the lead role and he is playing the son of Detective Scott Turner, Tom Hanks' character from the 1989 movie of the same name. However, as the trailer reveals, his dad is dead, which pretty much rules out any hope for a Hanks cameo, barring a flashback of some kind.

The trailer opens by introducing us to Josh Peck's Turner, who is career-focused and a bit uptight. A large dog is then dropped in his lap that his dad wanted him to have. And, as we come to find later in the footage, his dad passed away. Things quickly get chaotic as the pooch is not exactly well behaved.

Turner & Hooch Kills Off Tom Hanks' Character in First Trailer
Josh Peck in Turner & Hooch (2021)
Are you ready for a very different Turner & Hooch?

Disney+ on Wednesday unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming original series, Turner & Hooch, based on the 1989 movie of the same name.

Hanks starred in the latter as a detective who took on Hooch, and well, hilarious moments ensued.

Josh Peck plays Scott Turner in the update, and the trailer confirms that Hanks' character is very much dead.

As a result, Scott inherits the beautiful titular canine, and he proves to be more than a handful.

Becca Tobin, Carra Patterson, Brandon Jay McLaren, Anthony Ruivivar, Lyndsy Fonseca, Jeremy Maguire, and Vanessa Lengies.

Five French Mastiffs also appear as Hooch, but will we be able to spot the difference?

Probably not.

The trailer begins with Scott having a string of missed calls from his mother.

His sister, Laura, arrives at his home to drop Hooch off with him.

Jeff Bridges at an event for The 82nd Annual Academy Awards (2010)
Missy Peregrym Reflects on ‘Stick It’ 15 Years Later: ‘It’s Been Such a Blessing in My Life’
Jeff Bridges at an event for The 82nd Annual Academy Awards (2010)
The actress recalls her favorite memories from the film, including being terrified about working with Jeff Bridges

2006 was a golden year for young adult films: “Step Up,” “She’s the Man” and “John Tucker Must Die” to name a few. There was also “Stick It” starring Missy Peregrym as Haley Graham, a young gymnast rebelling against the sport and all it stands for as she recovers from how it traumatized her family. Today, “Stick It” turns 15 years old.

The film was directed by Jessica Bendinger, who was just coming off of writing “Bring It On.” Much like that movie, “Stick It” was cheeky and lovable, and over the years has carved out it’s own spot in the hearts of millennials. These days, you can watch Missy Peregrym still kicking butt, this time as an FBI agent in CBS’ “FBI,” but she still remembers playing Haley Graham quite clearly.

“It feels like so long ago,...

Turner & Hooch Disney+ Series Brings Back Reginald VelJohnson as Mayor David Sutton
Image
Reginald VelJohnson will reprise his role as David Sutton in the Turner and Hooch sequel series on Disney+. The upcoming series, which stars Josh Peck as the son of Tom Hanks' character from the original movie, was developed by Burn Notice creator Matt Nix. Though the series will be following a new Turner and a new Hooch, VelJohnson's appearance marks at least one link back to the original movie.

Deadline reports that Reginald VelJohnson will be featured in a recurring role on the Turner & Hooch series, so he won't be limited to a one-off cameo appearance. Playing a cop in the original movie, VelJohnson's David Sutton is now the mayor of the city. Hanks is not currently attached to the project and there are not currently any plans to feature the original Scott Turner at this time. It's unclear if any other actors from the original movie will also be appearing.

Immortal (2004)
"What do you think it says about us as a society that the bad guys are always more fun?" Different Duck Films has released an official trailer for an indie horror-thriller anthology film called Immortal, which premiered at the Screamfest Horror Festival last year. It's written, directed and produced by Rob Margolies, featuring a star-studded cast headlined by Tony Todd, Dylan Baker, Robin Bartlett, Samm Levine, Vanessa Lengies, and Agnes Bruckner. "Thrown into the face of death only to emerge unharmed, the characters of Immortal are left staring at eternity in the face with uncertainty and fear like they've never imagined." Yes this has a solid cast, but the segments seem quite derivative - stories about immortality, another game of hunt-or-be-hunted in the woods,...
