American independent producer, who began as a production manager for Columbia subsidiary Screen Gems. He was best known for the classic TV series Naked City (1958) and Route 66 (1960), both milestone shows in that they were shot on-location rather than in a studio.

Served in the military during World War II.

His wife, Betty Kennedy, guest-starred in several episodes of his TV show, Rin Tin Tin: K-9 Cop (1988).
