Actor Rupert Everett had high hopes for his role in the Netflix series Emily in Paris. Unfortunately, the opportunity was not what he had been expecting, leading to a feeling of severe disappointment that Everett had big trouble working through.
Everett joined the show in the Season 4 Part 2 finale, "All Roads Lead to Rome." He played Giorgio Barbieri, a longtime friend and former lover of Sylvie Grateau. The role was memorable, but Everett was not called to return for Season 5. Per Vanity Fair, Everett said he was "fired" from the show in a new interview, claiming he'd been told to wait for a call that never actually came.

After making his Emily in Paris debut in Season 4, don’t expect to see Rupert Everett back in the City of Love next season.
The two-time Golden Globe nominee recently recalled the “tragedy” of not being asked back to reprise his role as Italian fashion designer Giorgio Barbieri in the Netflix series after he played the role in the Season 4 episode “All Roads Lead to Rome.”
“For me, it was a tragedy. I was in bed for two weeks because I couldn’t get over it,” he told Vanity Fair.
“I did a scene in the latest season, and they told me, ‘Next year we’ll speak,'” continued Everett. “I waited for them to call me — but ultimately, it never came, and they just fired me. Like his heroine, Emily In Paris creator/executive producer Darren Star is currently in Paris, working on the upcoming fifth season of his hit Netflix comedy series starring Lily Collins.
During an interview about the Netflix success of his previous series, Younger, Star provided an update on Emily In Paris.

Emily’s not done with Paris — or Rome — just yet. Netflix has officially renewed Emily in Paris for a fifth season, and oui, fans are already plotting their next fashionable binge. The production kicked off in May 2025, starting in Rome before circling back to Emily’s home turf, Paris. So while the release date hasn’t dropped, all signs point to a late 2025 or early 2026 premiere.
Creator Darren Star cleared (Via Deadline) the air: “She didn’t change her Instagram handle to Emily in Rome.” Instead, Emily in Paris Season 5 is embracing a cross-continental vibe. After Season 4 closed with Emily zipping through Rome on a Vespa with Marcello to the tune of Close To You by Gracie Abrams, fans knew the next season would bring Italian heat. How has there never been a royal character before now?
As revealed by Netflix and exclusively reported by Variety, Minnie Driver will co-star in Emily in Paris season 5 as Princess Jane. The Good Will Hunting and The Riches star plays Sylvie's friend, though if she's an old friend or a recent friend (or even a frenemy), we're not sure yet. All that we know about Princess Jane so far is that she married into a royal family. Ooh la la!

The film, shot in Brazil, dramatizes the real-life solo transatlantic row of Brazilian explorer Amyr Klink and stars Filipe Bragança, Felipe Camargo and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu.
Global Constellation will handle international sales for “100 Days.” The project has attracted attention for its ambitious production scope and multinational collaboration, including Brazil’s Ventre Studio (“Godless John”), Boipeba, Madremidia, O2 Filmes (“City of God”), Total Post and Disney Group, as well as Finland’s well-connected Good Hand Production.

Lily Collins is heading back to Paris and Rome this summer.
Season five of Netflix’s hit show, Emily in Paris, is set to begin production in May, filming in Rome first before moving back to Paris later this summer.
Series regulars Collins (Emily Cooper), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Thalia Besson (Genevieve) and Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello) will all reprise their roles.
One former castmember notably missing from the list is Camille Razat, who played Camille in the first four seasons. However, it’s not a total surprise, as her character (spoiler!) left Paris at the end of season four after faking her pregnancy with Gabriel.
On the other hand, Bravo’s return as Gabriel may be a bit shocking, as he previously expressed that he’s been “frustrated with the direction my character is taking,...

Netflix has dropped the trailer for Part 2 of Emily in Paris Season 4, and of course, all roads lead to Rome at the end of the latest installment.
“Sometimes all you need is a new perspective,” the clip teases in between shots of Emily (Lily Collins) with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Camille (Camille Razat) in snowy France and Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) new hire Genevieve (Thalia Besson), another American employee joining Savoir.
Tension brews between Emily and Gabriel as Camille still hasn’t shared that she isn’t pregnant with her ex-fiancé. Meanwhile, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) might turn into more than just a business asset for Emily as he first comes to Paris “exploring some business opportunities.
Jvma hopes to acquire whoever Marcello works for, and Sylvie is keen to nab a meeting with him via Emily — which involves her going to Rome.

Several loose threads at the end of Emily in Paris Season 3 will feature more prominently in Season 4 Part 1 of Darren Star’s Netflix series.
As the ensemble cast of Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), Mindy Chen (Ashley Park), Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), Camille (Camille Razat), Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) and more come back together for the fourth installment of the soapy Netflix show, viewers may be wondering what happened in Season 3 of Emily in Paris. The ten-episode third season came out at the end of 2022, and the fourth season was delayed by the double strikes in Hollywood.
A recap of what to remember ahead of the first half of Emily in Paris Season 4 awaits below.
Business Decisions
At the beginning of Season 3, Emily faced the tough choice between staying on at Savoir under the Gilbert Group with a very pregnant Madeline (Kate Walsh) or jumping ship for Sylvie’s new group – Agence Grateau.

Emily in Paris‘ long-awaited fourth season finally has a trailer (below). Said Saldanha, “I’m so excited to be able to tell this incredible story about this Brazilian hero to the world. I’m so happy to have this amazing cast, both Brazilian and international. Emily in Paris season four picks up after the dramatic events of Camille (Camille Razat) and Gabriel’s (Lucas Bravo) wedding, with Emily (Lily Collins) reeling as she has strong feelings for two men: Gabriel and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), according to Netflix. “Emily in Paris” Season 5? Not so fast.
During the amfAR Gala at the Cannes Film Festival, which raises money for research to end HIV and AIDS, Winnie Harlow and Paris Jackson appeared onstage to auction off a walk-on role in a previously unannounced fifth season of the Netflix series. The winner of the auction shelled out €250,000 to appear in the series as well as the chance to attend the Season 4 premiere in Los Angeles. Harlow and Jackson also said that Season 5 of the popular series is scheduled to begin shooting in mid 2025.
However, an individual with knowledge of the situation says that Netflix has not in fact greenlit another season of “Emily in Paris.” According to the official amfAR auction website, the walk-on role came “Courtesy of Darren Star,” the creator of the series. The website was recently updated to state that the winning bid “will have the opportunity to...

The first time Donna Langley came to the Cannes Film Festival she was a junior executive working on 1999’s “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.”
“I had just been promoted and I was fortunate enough to get picked to come on this trip to be part of the support team, and it was great! It was very different to this experience, I will say,” Langley said, eliciting a laugh from the well-heeled crowd at the Kering Women in Motion dinner, held at the Place de la Castre high above the Croisette. “[But] we had the time of our lives. We were just in so much awe to be in the cinema capital of the world.”
Indeed, the chairman of NBC Universal Studio Group no longer needs to share an apartment with four other young women — especially not one situated behind the fancy hotels. After all — and as Cannes president Iris Knobloch...

“Series Mania is mine!” shouts Logan Roy, in a promo video dropped today that blurs the lines of industry confab and fiction.
The Succession patriarch makes a short comedy cameo in a social media trailer video for France’s Series Mania, which runs between March 15-22 in Lille, France.
“Paris is so overrated. Lille is the new Paris,” says a voiceover as the video begins, before the words ‘Emily in Lille’ overlay the screen.
A surreal comic sketch follows, with an apologetic Series Mania boss Laurence Herszberg rushing into a posh office room in character as Emily from Emily in Paris, which has run on Netflix for three seasons so far and stars Lilly Collins as an aspiring marketing executive who moves to Paris to provide an American perspective to a French agency.

“Trauma bangs” are gone. Emily in Paris star Lily Collins confirmed on Instagram today that the cast of the popular Netflix comedy series have reconvened in Paris to begin production on the strike-delayed Season 4. Posing with the script for Episode 401, Collins revealed a hairstyle that harkens back to the first two seasons. In Episode 301, Emily famously chopped off her hair for what her Bff Mindy (Ashley Park) called “trauma bangs.” (You can watch the official Emily’s Trauma Bangs video below.) Emily sported the bangs for the entire season.
In her post, Collins referenced the long delay for Season 4, which was supposed to start filming last summer but was pushed to January by the WGA and the SAG-AFTRA strikes.
“Did someone say Saison Quatre?!”, Collins wrote in the caption, alongside a photo of herself with the first episode script. “Finally reunited with my @emilyinparis fam back in Paris and it feels so good.

That could stretch longer if WGA members remain on the picket line, reports ‘Variety’.
Streaming giant Netflix has declined to comment. The plan is still to start shooting by the end of fall, according to a source close to the streamer.
