Future Alien vs Predator Movies With Prey & Romulus Characters Seemingly Teased By 20th Century Boss
Image
More Alien vs. Predator movies could be on the way, combining characters from the new subfranchises spawned by Prey and Alien: Romulus. The original crossover franchise between the Alien movies and the Predator movies kicked off with AvP in 2004 and was followed by a sequel subtitled Requiem in 2007. While AvP 3 has so far failed to come to fruition, both franchises are still going strong with the 2022 prequel Prey being followed by Predator: Badlands and 2024's Romulus becoming the second highest-grossing movie in the franchise.

The Hollywood Reporter recently sat down for an interview with 20th Century president Steve Asbell. During their conversation, he touched on the success of both franchises and the possibility of the Alien vs. Predator subfranchise continuing in the wake of their success. In a word, he said a new AvP movie would "probably" happen, though "we haven't gotten to that point." He adds that such...

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007) – Awfully Good Horror Movies
Fede Alvarez
A new episode of the Awfully Good Horror Movies video series has just been released, and with director Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus now in theatres, we have decided to celebrate by taking a look back at one of the least popular entries in the Alien franchise, the crossover sequel Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (watch it Here). You can hear all about it in the video embedded above!

Directed by the Brothers Strause from a screenplay by Shane Salerno, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem has the following synopsis: Residents of Gunnison, Colorado, are caught up in the crossfire when two deadly extraterrestrial species bring their longstanding conflict to Earth. On the one side, nearly indestructible Aliens; on the other, a lone Predator whose mission is to wipe out all traces of the Alien infestation from Earth, no matter who gets in the way.

The film stars Steven Pasquale, Reiko Aylesworth, John Ortiz,...

Where to Stream All the ‘Alien’ Movies Right Now
Image
If you want to stream all of the movies in the “Alien” franchise, including the “Alien vs. Predator” spinoffs, head over to Hulu.

All eight films, released theatrically by 20th Century Fox (since renamed as 20th Century Studios) are currently on the Disney-owned streamer at the moment.

Ridley Scott’s 1979 original space thriller and James Cameron’s action-packed 1986 sequel and subsequent sequels are variously available on Fubu, FX Now and Max.

Here’s where to stream all the “Alien” movies right now ahead of the release of “Alien: Romulus,” the ninth film in the franchise that opens in theaters on Aug. 16.

20th Century Fox

Alien (1979)

In the first film, the crew of the Nostromo – Ripley, Dallas (Tom Skerritt), Ash (Ian Holm), Kane (John Hurt), Parker (Yaphet Kotto), Lambert (Veronica Cartwright) and Brett (Harry Dean Stanton) — answer a deep-space distress call that will prove fatal for most of them. Four decades latter,...

Every Alien & Predator Movie, Ranked
Image
Though they originally began as separate projects, the Alien and Predator movies have combined into a unique hybrid franchise that continues to endure today. The two properties both belonged to 20th Century Fox as part of that studio's proud tradition of science fiction that encompasses the likes of Star Wars and the Planet of the Apes movies. Both have also received a boost in profile, with 2022's Prey lauded as a new classic, and the hotly anticipated Alien: Romulus due to hit theaters in August, 2024.

Should Alien: Romulus prove to be a hit, it could launch a whole new era of movies for both halves of the franchise. A total of thirteen films have been released in both series so far, covering five decades and ranging from unquestioned masterpieces to unmitigated disasters. Fans may be interested in re-familiarizing themselves with the franchise, which may mean separating the classics from the misfires.

Sons of Anarchy: Every Samcro Member Who Is Killed Off (& Why)
Image
Jax Teller's journey in "Sons of Anarchy" led to a tragic and poetic end with his suicide to end the cycle of violence. Deaths of key Samcro members like Clay, Opie, and Bobby showcased themes of betrayal, loyalty, and the deadly consequences of club life. From Juice's final betrayal to Bobby's heartbreaking end, each death in "Sons of Anarchy" further deepened the show's narrative and character arcs.

The Sons of Anarchy deaths across its seven seasons helped the show maintain its connection with the Shakespearian tale on which it was based. Created by Kurt Sutter, Sons of Anarchy premiered in 2008 and ended in 2014. It was successful from the beginning, praised for its tone, performances, and the themes it addressed, such as racism and corruption. Soa tells the story of Jax Teller, VP of the motorcycle club Sons of Anarchy, based in Charming, California.

When Jax finds a manifesto written by his late father,...

15 Predator Characters Who Could Return For New Future-Set Badlands Movie
Image
Badlands, the future-set Predator movie, has the potential to bring back 15 surviving characters from previous films, giving fans of the series exciting possibilities for their return. Characters like Molly, Ricky, Kelly, and Dallas have the potential to redeem themselves and showcase their Predator-fighting skills in Badlands. The characters Rory, McKenna, Bracket, Leona Cantrell, Anna, Isabelle, Royce, Naru, and Dutch also have the potential to make a comeback and add depth to the franchise's storyline.

Although the Predator movies have established the titular Yautja as one of the deadliest hunters in the galaxy, each movie leaves one or more survivors standing to retell their encounter with the terrifying alien. Unlike other successful sci-fi series, Predator does not rely on returning characters to provide continuity between installments. That said, the number of Predator survivors means that there is plenty of scope for potential returnees in the new future-set Badlands movie from Prey director Dan Trachtenberg.

The Detail Everyone Forgets About Bobby On Sons Of Anarchy
Image
Samcro treasurer Bobby Munson (Mark Boone Junior) is known for his levelheadedness on Sons of Anarchy, but there's one detail that everyone forgets about him. Bobby is the son of an accountant who worked for the mafia, and he applies the skills he learned from his father to keep track of the motorcycle club's finances. As shown in Bobby's best Sons of Anarchy quotes, his logical mind sets him apart from other Sons of Anarchy members, who prefer to enact violence first and ask questions later. Bobby is also extremely loyal to the club, and always makes decisions based on what he thinks is best for Samcro.

But while Bobby would do anything for the Sons of Anarchy, he is also an independent thinker. When he doesn't agree with Jax's (Charlie Hunnam) leadership as Samcro president, Bobby resigns as VP, cutting off his patch. It's these unique traits that...

What Would Happen If Naru Met Other Predator Heroes?
Image
The heroine of Prey, Naru, is a formidable warrior, and there could be some epic battles indeed if she met the other heroes of the Predator franchise. Prey sees a Yautja hunter arrive on Earth in the 18th century, with Comanche warrior Naru (Amber Midthunder) stepping up to battle the creature to save her people. Prey proved to be one of the best-received Predator movies ever made, and with the movie's end-credits teasing Prey 2, it seems likely that Naru will step into another Yautja showdown in the near future.

Naru is hardly the only human to defeat a Predator on-screen, however. With the Predator franchise stretching back to the 1987 original led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, numerous human protagonists have fought Predators in the past and lived to tell the tale. With that being said, Naru is a particularly adept hunter and warrior even among Predator heroes. That makes the idea of Naru meeting,...

Katy Perry Walks the Red Carpet With Orlando Bloom's Ex, Miranda Kerr
Image
Katy Perry and Miranda Kerr were all smiles when they reunited at the G'Day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles on Jan. 28. The pair's friendship caught fans by surprise, considering Kerr is Orlando Bloom's ex-wife and Perry has been engaged to the actor since Valentine's Day 2019. The couple also share 2-year-old daughter Daisy Dove.

In a speech presenting Kerr with the excellence in the arts award, Perry was quick to dispel any feud rumors, setting the record straight on her friendship with Kerr once and for all. "Some of you might be confused about why I'm introducing Miranda," she said, according to People. "That doesn't play into the antiquated narrative of ex-wives and new wives."

"It's like I gained another sister, one with whom I usually sidebar from the main family chat and agree with."

Addressing the audience, Perry continued, "And yes, it's true, most of the media would...

Every Predator & Prey Survivor Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
The Predator franchise's human survivors have ranged from forgettable to true warriors. 1987's Predator first introduced the world to the eponymous alien hunter (also known the by the name "Yautja"), with the heat-seeking extraterrestrial swiftly becoming one of the most popular movie monsters in history. Predator's success would not only lead to numerous sequels, but an entire expanded Predator mythology in other media like comics books and video games, including the Aliens vs. Predator crossover franchise.

In Predator, Arnold Schwarzenegger's special forces soldier Dutch was the first human to battle a Yautja on-screen and live to tell about it However, Dutch certainly has not been the last. The Predator franchise has followed a wide assortment of different human protagonists, but naturally, their skills and the harrowing stories they are placed does not show them all as being on equal footing. Here is every human survivor of the Predator franchise,...

The 2 Sons Of Anarchy Characters Who Never Killed Anyone
Image
Sons of Anarchy was packed with action due to the title club being involved in many conflicts with other groups and individuals, and there are only two characters who never killed anyone in the whole series. The Sons of Anarchy club saw a lot of drama among its members due to clashing personalities and conflicting interests, but because that wasn’t enough, there was also a lot of conflict in the personal lives of Samcro’s members and with other clubs and organizations, leading Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) and company to kill many people on different occasions, either for their own protection or for that of the club.

Of course, all those conflicts, fights, and shootings on the streets of Charming, California led to many tragedies as no one in Samcro was safe from being hurt or killed, and there were cases where one bad, violent decision led to the death of a Samcro member,...

Sons of Anarchy Creator Kurt Sutter Will Make Directorial Debut with Netflix's This Beast

24 Secrets About The Cast Of Sons Of Anarchy
Hollywood is supposed to tell fictional stories about people pretending to do whatever their characters are doing on screen. Even when the stories being told are based on real events, the people portraying them are still supposed to be just pretending.

Apparently, with the cast of FX's Sons of Anarchy, the behavior seen in the show was often on par, if not tamer than the stuff that was going on behind-the-scenes. Some of these stories may even be more crazy than the violent stories told in the show itself.

Many of the actors in the show were just as rough and tumble as their onscreen counterparts. They were in and out of jail, struggled with addictions, and occasionally bought way too many Nikes.

Some were able to put their lives back together. Others, unfortunately, were not and suffered an early demise. Also, more than a couple of them were...

‘Sons Of Anarchy’ School Shooting: Why It Didn’t Cross A Line
Season six of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ started with a bang — literally. The controversial ending to the Sept. 9 season premiere caused an uproar of fans who were not happy with that ending. However, I’m on the other end of the spectrum.

Just when you thought Sons of Anarchy couldn’t get anymore shocking, season six’s premiere proved us all wrong. While some loved the new episode, “Straw,” others felt it pushed the limit. However, if you’ve watched Sons from the beginning, you know there wasn’t much of a limit left.

‘Sons of Anarchy’ School Shooting: Why It’s Not Pushing The Envelope

The dramatic season premiere ended when an 11-year-old, who was introduced earlier in the episode pulled out a machine gun, entered his middle school and started firing shots.

First things first: I understand, in the midst of the tragedy in Sandy Hook, and the violent...

‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Season 6 Premiere Stuns Viewers With Horrific Twist
Spoiler alert: Stop reading if you don’t want to know what happened on the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ season premiere!

Sons of Anarchy is famous for pushing the envelope — if that envelope even exists anymore — with jaw-dropping twists that manage to stun die-hard fans, while also getting a rise out of casual channel surfers. And although the sixth season premiere featured plenty of surprises for long-time viewers, its most controversial scene will likely strike a chord with those casual channel surfers I mentioned.

Without going into too much detail, a seemingly innocent 11-year-old boy — whom fans of the show had barely been introduced to before — pulled out a machine gun and opened fire on his elementary school.

Yeah. That happened.

Needless to say, the horrific twist — which went down in the final moments of the Sept. 10 episode — will undoubtedly give viewers, and non-viewers who will likely hear about it on the news,...

Katy Perry’s Ex Johnny Lewis Not On Drugs When He Killed His Land Lady
The actor who once dated Katy was widely reported to have been on drugs when he killed his landlady and then himself but the toxicology report released on Nov. 29 reveals that was not the case. The events surrounding Johnny Lewis' suicide and murder of his landlord left many people very confused. The actor, who dated Katy Perry from 2005 - 2006, had just recently been released from jail. There were numerous reports that he had been on hallucinogenic drugs and medication during the tragic events on Sept. 26, but the toxicology report claims otherwise, how sad! Johnny's death has also been ruled an accident even though many thought he purposefully jumped off his roof. The autopsy found nail marks on his neck and that he had been "partially strangled" suggesting that the landlady Catherine Davis, 81, had attempted to fight back. But no cocaine, alcohol, or marijuana was found in his system. The...

DVD Review: 'Lovely Molly'
★★☆☆☆ Eduardo Sanchez was one half of the directorial team that unleashed the now prevalent found footage motif onto horror movies in 1999 with The Blair Witch Project. His latest offering to the genre, Lovely Molly (2011) - which hit cinemas earlier this year and is released this week on DVD - is a disconcerting movie which plays its cards close to its chest throughout and is unnerving without ever managing to truly scare. The eponymous Molly (Gretchen Lodge) is a young woman who we're introduced to through some video footage - welcome back Mr. Sanchez - of her wedding to truck driver Tim (Johnny Lewis).

31 Days of Horror: ‘Lovely Molly’ – a psychological character study masquerading as a haunted house film
Lovely Molly

Directed by: Eduardo Sanchez

Written by: Eduardo Sanchez and Jamie Nash

2011, USA

Eduardo Sanchez made his name as one of the co-directors of The Blair Witch Project. Blair Witch wasn’t just an indication of his creative talent, but also a true passion, and belief in the idea that the less we see the more effective the horror. The act of visual discretion is admirable because it often balances on a razor’s edge. A director can just as easily lose the audience if ideas are not handled with a deft cleverness and attention to detail. In Lovely Molly, Sanchez continues to practice the ‘less is more’ approach to horror. It creates moments of great terror and suspense, but the approach also creates several moments of muddled sloppiness.

Lovely Molly is a psychological character study masquerading as a haunted house film. We watch the character of Molly, played by Gretchen Lodge,...

Blu-ray Review: Lovely Molly
Lovely Molly

Stars: Gretchen Lodge, Johnny Lewis, Alexandra Holden | Written by Eduardo Sanchez, Jamie Nash | Directed by Eduardo Sanchez

Known predominantly for the massive hit that was The Blair Witch Project (one of the highest-grossing independent films of all time no less), Eduardo Sanchez returns with what is his fourth directorial effort since that films groundbreaking debut and his best movie yet. Now I’ll admit I wasn’t a huge fan of Blair Witch, I enjoyed it for what it was but the obnoxious cast always put me off, however Sanchez’s 2006 directorial follow-up Altered was a stroke of genius that undeservedly shoved out as a direct to DVD release. But now he’s back, surpassing all expectations with Lovely Molly.

The film starts off innocently enough, with the titular Molly (Lodge) and her newlywed husband Tim (Lewis) moving into the old family homestead to start their married life together.
