Dexter: Resurrection season 1 episode 1 recap: Dexter Morgan reborn
Image
This post contains spoilers from Dexter: Resurrection season 1 episode 1 from this point forward.

It’s been four years since we last caught up with Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall). In the sequel series, Dexter: New Blood, we met him living in a small, secluded little town in upstate New York. He was going by the name Jim Lindsay, and he was living a quiet life. He owned a store. He kept up with his fitness. He had a girlfriend—the Chief of Police, no less—and he kept his urges in check.

All that came undone as his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), found him. Dexter was forced to confront his past and to try and pass on something to his son. But it didn’t take long for things to go off the rails. His past surfaced. He faced new challenges. And as the show closed, Harrison took aim and shot his father.

Paramount+ Linked Michael C Hall’s Dexter to the Film Leonardo DiCaprio Left
Image
If you thought Dexter Morgan and Patrick Bateman only had the shared love for blood in common, Paramount+ is here to deepen the lore for you. The network’s spin-off series Dexter: Original Sin doesn’t just revisit the origins of Miami’s best vigilante killer- it links him it also links him to another iconic psychopath: Bateman from American Psycho.

You read that right. Observant fans and critics of the show will know exactly what I’m talking about: Dexter, long known for creating fake identities, tipped his scalpel to the infamous Wall Street monster. While Leonardo DiCaprio was once famously slated to take on the role of Bateman before exiting the film, the psychopathic killer still finds a strange afterlife in Dexter’s ever-so-twisted world.

Dexter’s Alias Was a Bloodstained Tribute

In the Og Dexter series, Michael C. Hall’s character was often seen adopting aliases...

10 Valid Reasons Fans Love Dexter: Original Sin
Image
Dexter is one of the greatest drama series ever made. It follows serial killer Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter analyst with Miami Metro Homicide. The interesting thing about Dexter is that he knew from a young age that he had a "Dark Passenger" and, with the help of his father, created a code to live (and kill) by. Dexter is a serial killer, but he only kills people who deserve it. When the justice system fails, Dexter lies in wait to take matters into his own hands.

After Dexter's series finale, fans wanted more, and they got it in the form of a miniseries called Dexter: New Blood. While New Blood did have a lot going for it, many fans felt that the ending was even more unsatisfying than the original series. Dexter: Original Sin is the newest show in the ever-expanding Dexter universe. Original Sin is a prequel...

'Dexter: Resurrection': Everything to Remember About 'Dexter: New Blood' Before the Sequel
Image
Dexter goes down in history as one of the best shows with a terrible series finale. But that’s Ok, because the series' reputation was partially saved by the continuation series Dexter: New Blood, along with the prequel Dexter: Original Sin. Now, in April 2025, there will be Dexter: Resurrection, a direct continuation of Dexter: New Blood that brings the fan-favorite vigilante killer back to life – literally.

The series has fans giddy about what’s to come for Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall). Tons of big-name actors have been named among the cast, including Peter Dinklage, Krysten Ritter, Uma Thurman, Neil Patrick Harris, and Eric Stonestreet. Along with Hall, James Remar will reprise his role as the late Harry Morgan, who serves as Dexter’s ghost guide, as well as David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista and Jack Alcott, who appeared as the grown son Harrison in New Blood. As fans gear up to watch,...

After 4 Years, It's Time for Fans to Admit Dexter: New Blood Wasn't a Bad Show
Image
Quick LinksDexter: New Blood Breathed Life Back Into the FranchiseDespite the Polarizing Reception, New Blood’s Ending is Actually GoodWhy Fans Didn’t Like New Blood

Dexter: Original Sin has rejuvenated a franchise that many fans assumed would be over after the 2021 miniseries, Dexter: New Blood. Dexter (2006-2013) is a beloved series about a serial killer named Dexter Morgan who satisfies his "Dark Passenger" by killing bad people. If Dexter can prove that one of his potential victims is a criminal who causes harm to others, then he feels justified in his killing. The series brought about a lot of interesting questions about morality and how far is too far if one's actions mean protecting innocent people.

Many fans weren't satisfied with the last couple of seasons of Dexter, especially when it came to the ending. Due to the dissatisfaction with the original series' conclusion, Dexter: New Blood was...

Dexter Thankfully Confirms The Next Sequel Show Is Avoiding One Of The Biggest Complaints About New Blood's Ending
Image
Showtime’s upcoming sequel series Dexter: Resurrection has confirmed that David Zayas is returning as Angel Batista, fixing one of the biggest complaints about the character’s appearance in the limited revival series New Blood. Three years after Dexter: New Blood’s divisive ending seemingly killed off the titular character and saw Harrison Morgan flee after shooting his father, Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan is officially alive and back in Dexter: Resurrection. Showtime's prequel Dexter: Original Sin confirmed that Dexter was miraculously revived by doctors after being shot, meaning a major fallout is coming after he was exposed as the Bay Harbor Butcher.

After bringing Dexter Morgan back to life, the sequel series is also bringing back some important characters from the original show to explore the aftermath of Dexter being shot, outed as a serial killer, and facing severe consequences for his crimes. In addition to Michael C.

Dexter: New Blood Cast & Character Guide
Image
The Dexter original series finale ended on a haunting note. Dexter: New Blood then attempted to revive the series, gifting fans a ninth season and a second finale. Dexter: New Blood isn't exactly a reboot. It's more of the show's second finale. The series follows Dexter Morgan, a man who lives a double life as a serial killer by night and a blood-spatter analyst by day, along with the police. Characters in the original series don't tend to last very long given Dexter's dark hobby. However, Dexter: New Blood still manages to bring some fan favorites back. The ninth season proves that even a character who's officially dead in the original show can reappear in other forms.

Dexter: New Blood ties up some loose ends, especially regarding the way the original series leaves things with Dexter's son, Harrison. Dexter is reunited with Harrison in Dexter: New Blood. 10 years after the events in the season 8 finale,...

Our volatile relationships with antiheroes were suddenly under a microscope, as Dexter analyzed blood spatter at crime scenes while setting up his next victim — those he believed weren’t meted the appropriate dose of justice.

Although Dexter finished its award-winning eight-season run in 2013, the man, the myth, and the legend live on.

He was first revisited with a Showtime original series, Dexter: New Blood, in 2021. If the original series ending didn’t satisfy, Dexter: New Blood proved equally as divisive. Yet, still, we tune in.

Dexter: Why Didnt Harrison Find Astor & Cody In New Blood?
Image
Harrison's absence in Astor and Cody's lives remains unexplained in Dexter: New Blood. Astor and Cody's exclusion from the revival series allows for a focus on Harrison's storyline. Harrison could potentially reconnect with Astor and Cody after the events of Dexter: New Blood.

Dexter: New Blood introduced a major Harrison plot hole why didnt he find Astor and Cody after being sent to Miami, and since he didn't, what really happens to Rita's kids? Harrison arrives in New Blood episode 1 after finally tracking down Dexter, who abandoned him in the original series finale nearly a decade before. When Harrison explains to Dexter how he found him in Iron Lake, he says he was living with Hannah in Argentina for approximately five years before she died, after which he was shuffled through the foster system in Miami for three years.

Considering Harrison has (presumably) living family members left in Florida,...

Even New Blood Knew That Dexter Couldn't Work Without A Different Character's 9-Season Role (Despite Ruining Their Ending)
Image
Warning: Major Spoilers ahead for Dexter.

Debra Morgan is a crucial character in Dexter, providing a strong bond and moral anchor for Dexter throughout the series. Jennifer Carpenter's portrayal of Debra gave the show personality, making her a fan-favorite with a compelling performance. Dexter: New Blood smartly brought back Debra to guide Dexter, showing the impact of her character and importance to the series.

The Dexter sequel series Dexter: New Blood understood that the series wouldn't work without one crucial character. New Blood was released in 2021 as the long-awaited followup to Dexter's season 8 finale in which Dexter miraculously survives charging his Slice of Life into an incoming hurricane to become a loner lumberjack in hiding. Dexter: New Blood - How The Serial Killer's Return Fixed The Show's Ending
Image
Dexter: New Blood finally gives fans the ending they wanted, fixing the problems of the original series finale and providing closure for key characters like Debra. The revival series diverges from the 2015 book Dexter Is Dead, with major differences in character fates and storylines, but still captures the satisfying conclusion and themes of the novel. By allowing Harrison to kill him, Dexter finally pays for his crimes and acknowledges the flawed nature of his vigilante system, providing a more satisfying conclusion than his survival in season 8.

Dexter: New Blood saw the long-awaited return of the legendary serial killer and uses the 2015 novel Dexter Is Dead as a source text. The revival series premiered in November 2021, set 10 years after the Dexter original series finale, "Remember the Monsters?" It's loosely based on Jeff Lindsay's final novel in his Dexter series but with some significant changes. The original Dexter follows the titular Dexter Morgan,...

Everything That Happened Between Dexter & Dexter: New Blood
Image
Although Dexter has led a peaceful life between the show's ending and the beginning of Dexter: New Blood, the life of major characters related to him drastically changes throughout the years. The controversial season 8 final episode, "Remember The Monsters?", left a bittersweet taste in mouths as there were too many loose ends. While new episodes and a real conclusion to the complex serial killer's arc arrived eight years after the final Dexter episode aired, New Blood did end with controversy again as they decided to kill Dexter off in "Episode 10" and undermined the character development and growth he went through in the original series.

Still, this did not mean there weren't any positive qualities to the spinoff. After Dexter faked his death and escaped in the finale, many questions arose as to what would happen to Dexter's son, Harrison, who had been left in the hands of another serial killer...

The Meaning Behind Dexter’s New Fake Identity
Image
The meaning of the fake name that Dexter Morgan uses in Dexter: New Blood pays tribute to the serial killer character’s origins. When Dexter returned in New Blood, he was introduced under an entirely new name and persona in Iron Lake, New York after fleeing Miami, Florida. A decade after faking his death, Dexter's protagonist was going by the alias James “Jim” Lindsay, an act that he would keep up until being exposed shortly before his death in New Blood's finale.

As a serial killer who had to anonymously introduce himself to potential victims or purchase items that couldn’t be traced back to him, Harry's Code dictated that Dexter Morgan had to come up with plenty of fake identities in the original series. Some of Dexter’s most notable aliases included Kyle Butler (to Arthur Mitchell’s family), Daryl Tucker, Sean Ellis, Patrick Bateman, M.D., and Dave Cutler.

The 14 Best Dexter Episodes, Ranked
Image
"Dexter" is a show with a history almost as tumultuous as that of its titular antihero. The gory crime drama follows Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a blood spatter analyst by day and vigilante serial killer by night. Season 1 of the Showtime drama debuted in 2006 to positive reviews and reigned as the premium channel's highest-rated series for the next four years. Seasons 2 and 4 are widely regarded as the show's best, with the latter boasting a fantastic performance by John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer, one of TV's most terrifying villains. After the departure of showrunner Clyde Phillips, "Dexter" began a downward slide that ran all the way up to its disappointing series finale, frequently remembered as one of the worst of all time. Eight years after Dexter drove his boat into the eye of a hurricane, the serial killer with a heart of gold returned in "Dexter: New Blood," a...

Clancy Brown (‘Dexter: New Blood’) on going toe to toe with ‘the most storied serial killer of all time’ [Exclusive Video Interview]

Clancy Brown admits he was not familiar with “Dexter,” the Emmy-winning Showtime series starring Michael C. Hall, before signing on for the reboot, “Dexter: New Blood” in 2021. “I was a little afraid of it because, I thought, a hero who’s a serial killer?” Brown admits. “Plus I really liked Michael in ‘Six Feet Under’ and I didn’t want to see him be what I thought a serial killer would be. But it’s kind of a remarkable show. He’s such an attractive, horrible character. Once we started talking in earnest about doing it, I binged the whole thing and was blown away by how good it is and how good the writing was.” Watch the exclusive video interview above.

The Dexter: New Blood Finale Has a Surprising Dexter Easter Egg
Michael C. Hall in Dexter: New Blood (2021)
This Dexter: New Blood review contains spoilers.

Not many shows get a second chance at a finale. But then again, not many shows’ first finales are as bad as Dexter’s was.

After the original Dexter series finale back in 2013 was received, let’s say, less than warmly, Showtime decided to try it again. Following a seven year cool-off period, the network invited original showrunner Clyde Phillips back to envision a new end for Bay Harbor Butcher in the limited series Dexter: New Blood.

Now Dexter: New Blood’s new ending has come and gone and despite mixed fan reaction, it’s hard to argue that it isn’t an improvement…or at least we believe it is. Still, while Dexter: New Blood did an excellent job in wrapping up Dexter’s story once and for all, it left some secondary Dexter characters out in the cold. That’s partly...

‘Dexter: New Blood’ Finale Wraps Up Serial Killer’s Story
Image
Spoiler Alert: This story includes details from the finale of Showtime’s Dexter: New Blood.

It’s truly the end of an era as the fate of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) has been sealed in the final episode of Showtime’s Dexter: New Blood. And whether or not fans like the ending this time around, there’s no going back.

“Dexter Morgan is dead,” series showrunner Clyde Phillips confirmed to Deadline in a conversation that will run immediately following this recap.

Nearly a decade after America’s favorite fictional serial killer disappeared into a Miami hurricane in the original series finale, in New Blood it is revealed that Dexter was alive and well living in Iron Lake, NY under the alias Jim Lindsay.

He had completely changed his life and left every part of his old life behind, until right around the time someone from his past found him.

Dexter: New Blood's Julia Jones Teases an "Uncomfortable" Conversation Between Angela and Dexter
Michael C. Hall in Dexter: New Blood (2021)
How is Dexter going to explain this away? Then, Angela's daughter Audrey (Johnny Sequoyah) shared that Iron Lake teen Harrison (Jack Alcott) confessed that his dad's name isn't really Jim. After some internet sleuthing, Angela found Dexter's obituary, which included a very telling photo. And,...

Original ‘Dexter’ cast member David Zayas had ‘mixed feelings’ about series finale, but ‘extremely happy’ to return
Image
“Dexter: New Blood” staged a reunion (of sorts) in the December 5 episode when Dexter’s new girlfriend, Iron Lake Chief of Police Angela Bishop (Julia Jones), met his old coworker, Miami Metro Captain Angel Batista (David Zayas). The last time viewers saw Batista was in the 2013 series finale, when Dexter (Michael C. Hall) drove his boat into a hurricane and made everyone believe he and his son Harrison had died. Zayas now reveals he had “mixed feelings” about that controversial ending, telling EW, “I felt it might’ve been a little underwhelming.”

Dexter Recap: Angela Makes a Startling Discovery About [Spoiler] as a Face From the Past Returns to the Fold
Image
If Dexter Morgan thought he had problems before, Sunday’s episode of Dexter: New Blood raised the stakes in some major ways.

Not only did things take a rough turn with teen son Harrison — the boy Od-ed at a party! — but someone close to Dex learned the stone-cold truth behind his “Jim Lindsay” alias. Plus, an old face from the series proper made a surprise return, and Kurt Caldwell’s true villainy was more or less confirmed. It was a meaty episode, so let’s dive right into this recap of “Runaway.”

Dexter Boss and Michael C. Hall Talk Harrison’s Emerging Darkness and Dexter’s Reaction to That Big Reveal
Image
In Sunday’s episode of Dexter: New Blood, Dexter’s greatest fear may have become reality.

While Harrison was being hailed as the savior of his high school for thwarting a potential shooting, Dexter’s suspicions over his son’s story led him down an unsettling rabbit hole. With the help of police photos and crime-scene spatter, Dexter deduced that Harrison was actually the instigator of the conflict, and later found what he believed to be the real weapon used on the teen’s classmate, Ethan: a straight razor — the same blade used by the Trinity Killer when he sliced...

Jennifer Carpenter of ‘Dexter: New Blood’: Returning to Deb ‘Was Like Jazzercise’
Image
Dexter Morgan’s head must be an interesting place to be. Besides recently coming out of a nearly 10-year break from committing murder, the well-intentioned serial killer, played by Michael C. Hall, has been under an increasing amount of pressure in the revival series Dexter: New Blood. Besides killing again, he’s also come face-to-face with the now-teenage son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), he left behind when he faked his death almost a decade earlier. Plus, he’s maintaining the pretend identity of Iron Lake, New York, community member Jim Lindsay to keep his murderous past in the past. However, that past is very present since in his mind he sees and hears the voice of his deceased sister, Deb (Jennifer Carpenter). Deb’s presence in Dexter’s life is much more intense and more aggressive than when Dexter would see and hear his adopted father Harry (James Remar) in the original series.

Would Michael C. Hall Continue Playing ‘Dexter’ Beyond ‘New Blood’? (Video)
Image
Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) cannot seem to avoid getting himself into tight spots. Of course, when the Dexter: New Blood revival began, he’d been living a few idyllic years in Iron Lake, NY (under the name Jim Lindsay) and not killing. But when we caught up with him for the first time since the Showtime drama’s 2013 series finale, he quickly has his first kill in nearly a decade and is reunited with his now-teenaged son Harrison (Jack Alcott) and things have been escalating ever since. For Hall, stepping back into the shoes of the well-intentioned serial killer wasn’t a huge challenge for him. “I think the fact that the writers were able to hit that target, that honored our desire to do something new but also honored something fundamental about the show’s DNA and the character,” he told TV Insider’s Jim Halterman. “I discovered he was still there.

Dexter: New Blood Season 1 Episode 2 Review: Storm of Fuck
Jennifer Carpenter
We knew it wouldn't be long until Dexter gave in to his Dark Passenger, but it's always more fun to watch him cover his tracks.

On Dexter: New Blood Season 1 Episode 2, that's exactly what he does.

Dexter is more at odds with himself than ever before, but his self-preservation instincts are still intact.

Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) is much more animated "conscience" to Dexter than Harry.

No disrespect to James Remar -- he was always solid -- but as Dexter's priorities and actions have shifted, so has the adversarial voice in his head, foul-mouthed and full of rage.

Carpenter rips and tears into this new version of her old character with her teeth bare, shredding Dexter every chance she gets.

You don't have to enjoy the wins so much, you smug fuck.

‘Dexter: New Blood’: Will Dexter’s Son Follow in His Murderous Footsteps?
Image
Dexter Morgan is proof that there is life after death. Well, fake death, that is. Eight years after the Miami serial killer of bad guys disappeared in a hurricane on the 2006–13 drama’s much-derided ending, the antihero is back for a 10-episode thrill ride. Says Hall, “We wanted to do something decidedly new but also maintain fundamental parts of the original.” It’s safe to say the limited revival absolutely, uh, kills it. Picking up 10 years after the finale, New Blood shows Dexter with a new identity (mild-mannered cashier Jim Lindsay), a new home and a new vow not to kill. For the past decade, he “has been committed to abstinence,” explains Hall, until unfortunate events in the November 7 debut change that. “This show is Dexter,” says exec producer Clyde Phillips with a laugh, “and people die.” Dana Starbard/Showtime While Dexter has blood on his hands in the present,...

‘Dexter: New Blood’: Michael C. Hall Celebrates Return Of Serial Killer: “It Was Wild!”
Image
Alert: This story contains details of tonight’s premiere of Showtime’s Dexter: New Blood premiere

Nearly a decade after Showtime’s Dexter concluded after 8 seasons, serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is back in the limited series New Blood—and boy is he rusty.

In Sunday night’s premiere, Dexter, who now goes by the alias of Jim Lindsay, is revealed to be far away from Sunny Miami and now living in Iron Lake, New York where he’s living with his sister, Deb (Jennifer Carpenter). Well, living wouldn’t be the right word since she actually died in the series finale.

Deb is back and living in Dexter’s subconscious as his new Dark Passenger. It is as yet unknown if James Remar will pop in at some point to reprise the role of Dexter and Deb’s dad, Harry Morgan—Dexter’s original Dark Passenger.

Dexter Showrunner Clyde Phillips Teases Trinity Killer Cameo and an Ending That Will ‘Blow Up the Internet’
Image
Dexter: New Blood showrunner Clyde Phillips isn’t shy when looking back at his work on the series proper. When we mention that Season 4 was “arguably the show’s best season,” the executive producer interrupts the declaration with a laugh and an exclamation: “Inarguably!”

Phillips left the original show following a fourth season that saw Dexter take down the Trinity Killer (John Lithgow), shortly after Trinity left wife Rita (Julie Benz) dead and bloodied in a bathtub. Now, Phillips is back to reclaim the reins in Showtime’s new limited event series (premiering Sunday at 9/8c).

Dexter: New Blood: Michael C. Hall on How Harrison Renews Dad's 'Appetite for Humanity' and Killer Instinct
Image
Ladies and gentlemen: Dexter Morgan is back for his encore.

It’s been eight years since Miami’s most under-the-radar serial killer dumped his sister’s body into the sea and disappeared into the night. If you’ll recall, Dexter boated through a hurricane, faked his own death and started a new life as a lumberjack in rural Oregon. But in Showtime’s new event series Dexter: New Blood (premiering Sunday at 9/8c), fans will finally get a chance to revisit the troubled-yet-beloved character, as a dangerous new tale unravels for Dexter and his dark passenger — one which hopefully sticks the landing this time.

Michael C. Hall Reflects on Becoming ‘Dexter’ Again for ‘New Blood’ (Video)
Image
Revisiting one of the biggest roles of your career after nearly 10 years could be overwhelming. But how does Michael C. Hall feel about returning to the iconic role of beloved serial killer for Showtime’s Dexter: New Blood? He does a pretty good job of explaining in TV Insider’s exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette, seen above. The series is returning to the cabler on Sunday, November 7, when we pick up with the very much alive Dexter Morgan (who faked his death in a hurricane in the original series’ finale in 2013). Now, we find him going by the name Jim Lindsay and living a seemingly normal, low key life in the fictional town of Iron Lake, New York. While working at a bait-and-tackle shop in the small town, Dexter has become adept at quieting any of his “dark passenger” instincts that previously led him to ...

‘Dexter: New Blood’ Boss Warns ‘People Are Going to Die’ in Revival
Image
It’s about bloody time! Die-hard Dexter fans who didn’t love the 2006–13 series’ controversial finale — principled serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) faked his death and went into hiding in Oregon — get a do-over with this 10-episode revival. The former Miami Pd blood spatter expert now resides in idyllic (fictional) Iron Lake, New York, under the name Jim Lindsay (a nod to Dexter novelist Jeff Lindsay). He “is trying to be as innocuous and untempted [to kill] as possible,” explains exec producer Clyde Phillips. (Credit: Seacia Pavao/Showtime) But this truck-stop town “is sort of a Bermuda Triangle of women who go missing.” Which means Dexter’s Dark Passenger — the inner voice that leads him to eliminate bad guys — can’t be ignored. Continues Phillips: “This is Dexter, so people are going to die.” One target: the imposing Kurt Caldwell (Clancy Brown), who “has too much bad history.” Expect to see a few familiar faces,...

Dexter: New Blood Trailer Reveals What Became of Dexter's Son
Michael C. Hall
Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is living his best life in the new season of Dexter...or at least the best life of a nice man named Jim Lindsay. Dexter's actual best life probably involves a lot more serial killing than he's doing in the new trailer for the Showtime revival, but he does seem pretty happy. He's got a police chief girlfriend, a retail job and a lot of friends, but a sinister mystery involving missing people seems to be bringing up his old murderous instincts.  These days, those instincts appear in the form of Deb (Jennifer Carpenter), Dexter's dead adopted sister.  "You are a serial killer," she reminds him in the trailer. "You love that you're getting...

Dexter: New Blood – Deb Will Be the New Harry
Image
Yesterday at the 2021 Television Critics Association summer press tour, journalists were given a lot of new information about Showtime’s upcoming Dexter revival, Dexter: New Blood. The continuation of one of Showtime’s most popular dramas is one of the most anticipated series of the year, but so far, few details have been revealed. That all changed when showrunner Clyde Phillips and stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter started to spill their guts, metaphorically speaking, about what fans and skeptics alike can expect from the forthcoming miniseries.

First and most importantly, Phillips and co. knew that in continuing the story, they would have to contend with the original series’ infamous, contentious ending, and that there was no way to erase the sight of Dexter Morgan: lumberjack.

‘What we wanted to do was acknowledge the fact that almost a decade has passed,” Phillips told TCA attendees. “We didn’t want...

‘Dexter: New Blood’: Showtime President Says Limited Series Is “A Proper Finale For A Brilliant Series”
Image
Showtime‘s Dexter: New Blood may remain a limited series, the network’s president of entertainment Gary Levine revealed on Tuesday.

“Dexter is a jewel in the crown of Showtime and we didn’t do it justice in the end. That has always been a burr under my saddle,” Levine said during the network’s TCA executive panel. “We’ve always wanted to see if there was a way to do it right and it took a long time to figure out what that was. It took a long time for Michael [C. Hall] to be willing to revisit the role. We’re thrilled to get [Clive] Phillips back. We finally got to a place that I just can’t wait to show the world.”

He added, “We call it a limited series but the rules say it can’t be a limited series if it’s coming from something that was on...

Dexter Trailer Teases A Second Series Finale
Image
The Dark Passenger is back. Dexter Morgan is returning to Showtime in Dexter: New Blood, and the new limited series appears to be aiming to erase the, let’s call it contentious, reputation of the Dexter series finale. You can check out the first look at Dexter: New Blood below.

Michael C. Hall is back as everyone’s favorite compulsive serial killer, this time taking up residence in snowy upstate New York under the alias Jim Lindsay (the name appears to be a nod to Dexter creator Jeff Lindsay). Dexter is once again hiding in plain sight, but he knows that “Every day I walk through this world, faking it. Knowing if someone knows who I am, that’s it.” Dex doesn’t appear to have changed his look much, meaning that in the world of Dexter, you can still count on the FBI to be pretty incompetent.

A change...
