Brooklyn Nine-Nine features great character dynamics throughout its eight seasons, and one star recently recalled creating one of the best bonds of the show with the late Andre Braugher. Braugher played the serious but lovable Captain Holt in the NBC sitcom. He passed away in 2023, but his legacy remains with both fans of his work and his co-stars.

And Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg reflected on his time working with Braugher in an interview with People. The upbeat and lighthearted personality of Samberg's Jake Peralta created the perfect contrast to Braugher's police captain, delivering plenty of comical moments on-screen.

Poehler said of Braugher, "I never had the pleasure of meeting him, he seemed like he was just playful and fun,” to which Samberg answered, “He was, and just a good person," before going more in-depth.

Braugher played Captain Raymond Holt, a police captain who takes Samberg's Jake Peralta under his wing and forms an almost father-son-like relationship with him. Samberg described him to Poehler as “so deeply moral and kind and pleasant and smart,” before saying, “We all absolutely loved him. I miss him a lot.”

Speaking to IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking for the latest episode of “What No One Tells You,” Kenney-Silver said of her early years in comedy, “You are doing everything. You are the prop master. You are doing your own makeup. You’re slapping on wigs. You’ve got Ziplocs full of mustaches.”

The sketch group Kenney-Silver joined at New York University would go on to become the beloved comedy troupe The State, which also featured David Wain, Joe Lo Truglio, Thomas Lennon, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, and Ken Marino. When they were just starting out in 1992, every aspect of their performances were self-curated.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine features some brilliant characters who gel pretty well together. Be it Rosa and Amy, Jake and Boyle, or even Hitchcock and Scully, fans have loved every combination and permutation of the cast as duos. However, there is one that has not received a lot of screen time but is arguably one of the funniest pairs in the whole show.

If there was ever a spin-off based on one of these relationships, it should have been between Captain Holt and Charles Boyle, which would have resulted in some epic hilarity. Holt’s overtly stoic demeanor would have contrasted perfectly with Boyle’s over-emotional eccentricities.

And now that he's filled up our televisions and audio queues, he's determined to head back to the big screen as well, in a new movie that will reunite him with writer/actor/director David Wain. It's a film so audacious as to be described as "off-the-rails," that producer Anthony Bregman claims the script made him laugh harder than the time he read Wet Hot American Summer (a film Wain co-wrote) for the first time.

In a new report from Variety, it was revealed that the film will star Zoey Deutch and co-writer Ken Marino (another longtime Wain collaborator). Sabrina Impacciatore (of The White Lotus Season 2 fame), Ben Wang, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley are also in the ensemble.

Grab a pack of Lucky Strikes, and pour yourself some Canadian Club rye because a Mad Men reunion (of sorts) is on the horizon. According to Variety, Jon Hamm and John Slattery will star alongside Zoey Deutch for an untitled R-rated comedy from Wet Hot American Summer and Childrens Hospital director David Wain.

The project, which has a placeholder title of Untitled Celebrity Pass Movie, is described as an “off-the-rails odyssey through modern day Hollywood.” David Wain directs the film from a script he co-wrote with Ken Marino, who also stars in the comedy with Sabrina Impacciatore, Ben Wang, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley.

In the untitled film, “a Midwestern bride-to-be, Gail Daughtry (Deutch), has a celebrity hall pass agreement with her fiancé… who uses it. With their relationship in crisis, Gail sets out on an epic journey through Hollywood to even the scales.”

Ken Marino's career as an actor, writer, and director has been largely defined by two things: comedy and collaboration. After establishing himself via the MTV sketch comedy series "The State" with the comedy troupe of the same name (comprised of his closest friends and creative confidants), he went on to work on some of the funniest, most brilliant, and underrated TV and film projects to come out of Hollywood in the last two decades.

Melissa Rauch will have her seasonal plans derailed in "Feliz NaviDead" when a murder mystery performer enters the courthouse and brings chaos with them, including two new guest stars. NBC has unveiled a few images to preview the upcoming mischief ahead and tease the arrival of Andrew Daly and Joe Lo Truglio for the festive occasion. The new episode will premiere on December 17.

Police procedural sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine aired its eighth and final season in 2021. While fans have been clamoring for more comedic shenanigans, a revival is not on the cards.

Melissa Fumero, who played Amy Santiago, recently told ScreenRant that while the concept of a revival is exciting, they would not be able to shoot more episodes without the late Andre Braugher. "We've definitely all played with the idea, and we definitely all miss each other so much, and miss spending our days together," she said. "I don't think we could ever do it, though, without Andre, so I don't know that that would happen. But, yeah, I hope to work in other things with everyone," the actor explained.
