Stephen Collins Accuser Recalls Sexual Molestation By ‘7th Heaven’ Star in ID Series
Image
One of the alleged victims of Stephen Collins – who played Reverend Eric Camden on 7th Heaven for 11 seasons before his career was ended by a molestation scandal – sits down for a tell-all interview in the first episode of Investigation Discovery’s Hollywood Demons docuseries.

In the first episode of the ID six-parter, April Price recounted a series of allegedly inappropriate sexual encounters she had with the actor in 1983. Price was 13 years old and Collins lived next door to her aunt and herself in a Los Angeles apartment complex. “This is bad. This is really bad. I don’t know what I’m going to do,” Price at one point in the episode recalled after finding herself along with Collins in his apartment, and he emerged from his bedroom without any clothes on.

“At this point, I was as rigid and tight and as small as I could make myself, and...

‘7th Heaven’s Jeremy London Defends Stephen Collins In Upcoming ID Series: “I Never Noticed a Damn Thing About Him Working With Young Girls”
Image
7th Heaven actor Jeremy London comes to the defense of Stephen Collins in Hollywood Demons, an Investigation Discovery series premiering Monday that promises to “focus on different scandals and tragedies” in Tinseltown.

The first episode of the six-episode series focuses on Collins, who admitted back in 2014 that he sexually assaulted three underaged girls but was never charged. London, who played a minister on the drama that aired on the WB and CW from 1996 to 2007, spoke to ID about his memories working with the actor.

“What I noticed about Stephen Collins working with young girls and extras is that I never noticed a damn thing about Stephen Collins working with young girls and extras,” said London. “He never crossed any lines of any kind.”

London joined 7th Heaven for the seventh and eighth seasons to play Chandler Hampton, a young minister who temporarily fills in for Collins’ Reverend Eric Camden.

‘7th Heaven’ Actors Listen to Co-Star Stephen Collins’ Sexual Misconduct Confession for the First Time: ‘He Would Be a Dead Man if That Was My Child’
Image
“7th Heaven” actors Jeremy London and Kyle Searles reckon with co-star Stephen Collins’ sexual misconduct for the first time in an episode of ID Discovery’s upcoming series “Hollywood Demons” (via The Daily Beast). Collins starred as patriarch Eric Camden on all 11 seasons of the family drama series. He confessed in 2014 to prior sexual misconduct with three underage girls.

Searles, who appeared in the last four seasons of “7th Heaven ” as Mac, says in “Hollywood Demons” that he admired Collins during the making of the show, explaining: “He would drive to work in a beautiful Toyota Prius every single morning when the man was making enough money that he could have been driving up in a Bentley. He could have been decked-out, dressed in the nines, but he was wearing what Jay Leno typically wears, with the blue jeans shirt and jeans. I always felt like I want to be like that.

Billed by its distributor Breaking Glass Pictures as “A Modern Slasher in the style of the 1980s,” Butchers Bluff gets off to an appropriate start with a gratuitous display of breasts as a couple go at it in a pick-up. ‘Bone Face’ Review

Stars: Jeremy London, Elena Sanchez, Alli Hart, Miles Doleac, Artrial Clark, Ritchie Montgomery, Laura Cayouette, Jared Bankens, David Kallaway | Written and Directed by Michael Donovan Horn

When a masked killer slaughters several campers in a small town, a sheriff and a deputy track the murderer to a local diner where, using their investigative skills, they must discover which person in the diner is the actual killer.

I will start this review with a warning. If you go into Bone Face (written and directed by Michael Donovan Horn) expecting a Friday the 13th summer camp slasher and hoping for a new horror icon then you’re going to be disappointed. Go watch Heart Eyes instead. But if you understand the perminters – there has been a mass murder at a summer camp and the vast majority of this film is working out from a small cast of characters in a diner who...

A Masked Killer Horror Thriller Whodunit 'Bone Face' Official Trailer
Image
"Come on, isn't it obvious? So who you after, sheriff?" Dark Star Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for Bone Face, an indie horror from filmmaker Michael Donovan Horn. This hasn't premiered at any festivals and will be released direct-to-vod this month. A masked killer slasher horror mashed up with a whodunit mystery? So it seems. When a masked killer slaughters several campers, a sheriff & deputy track a murderer to a local diner where, using their investigative skills, they must discover which person in the diner is the actual killer. "An engaging cocktail of slasher, thriller, and whodunnit with a superb cast... genre audiences will find something to love here." The film stars Jeremy London and Elena Sanchez as the small-town sheriff and deputy, with Alli Hart, Miles Doleac, Jared Bankens, Ritchie Montgomery, Escalante Lundy, and Madison Wolfe. This doesn't seem that interesting - my guess is the mask takes over people.

Screambox Hidden Gems: 5 Horror Movies to Stream Including Japanese Giallo ‘Evil Dead Trap’
Image
The Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox is home to a variety of unique horror content, from originals and exclusives to cult classics and documentaries. With such a rapidly-growing library, there are many hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

Here are five recommendations you can stream on Screambox right now.

Evil Dead Trap

Mix up your January Giallo viewing with Evil Dead Trap. Although its title invokes Evil Dead – and there’s a bit of Sam Raimi-esque kineticism in the camerawork – the 1988 Japanese film shares more in common with the lurid Italian thrillers: a mysterious killer, elaborate murder set pieces, gruesome violence, stylish cinematography, a dreamlike atmosphere, and an infectious synth score.

Upon receiving a graphic snuff film, a late-night TV host (Miyuki Ono) rallies a small production crew to investigate its origins at an abandoned military base. The story plays out in a manner that could be considered a slasher, but...

"We Just Lost Her": Kevin Smith on Hearing Ellen DeGeneres Walked Out of Chasing Amy
Image
Writer/producer/director/actor Kevin Smith is behind the cult classic movies like Clerks, Dogma, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy, an LGBTQ+ film. Smith, in the documentary Chasing Chasing Amy, revealed that one famous talk show host walked out of a screening of Chasing Amy, per People.

“The biggest blowback, God’s truth, that I heard, felt, and was told about was when they told me that Ellen (DeGeneres) and (then-partner) Anne Heche went to see Chasing Amy, and it was reported that they walked out in the first half hour,” Smith revealed in the Sav Rodgers documentary. DeGeneres came out as a lesbian the same year Chasing Amy was released.

“And us being like, ‘Well, that’s the most famous lesbian in the world. We just lost her. That means we’re never getting on The Ellen Show,'” Smith said. People reports that representatives for DeGeneres did not immediately return requests for comment.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Would Love To Honor Shannen Doherty In Mallrats Sequel
Image
Director Kevin Smith has been wanting to bring a Mallratssequel to the big screen for a while now, but a key figure from the first film is, tragically, no longer with us after the passing of Shannen Doherty following a brave battle with cancer. Despite her passing, Smith has figured out a great way to honor the late actress, and it involves having her best friend, and fellow actress, Sarah Michelle Gellar, stepping into the role the 90210 actress originated, something Gellar is more than happy to do.

Following Smith speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about wanting Gellar to step in for her best friend, the trade posted the story on their Instagram page and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress commented on the post by saying, "Here for this idea!!", indicating that she's more than willing to step into the role as a tribute to Doherty. Now that Gellar is on board,...

Sarah Michelle Gellar Up for Filling in for Late Friend Shannen Doherty in Mallrats 2
Image
Filmmaker Kevin Smith has recently been hinting that a sequel to his 1995 movie Mallrats isnt completely out of the question. Per Entertainment Weekly, Smith said he would like Sarah Michelle Gellar to step in for the late Shannen Doherty if a movie was to be made. Within hours of the news, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress commented on social media that shes Here for this idea, of joining the cast of the movie.

Gellar and Doherty had been friends for 30 years, Gellar wrote in a tribute she posted on Instagram to the late actress, who died in July after a long battle with breast cancer. How do you possibly find the right words to sum up 30 years of friendship? I keep reminding myself it only hurts this much because there was so much love, Gellar wrote.

Kevin Smith offered the latest on Twilight of the Mallrats (Mallrats 2), the long-awaited sequel to the 1995 cult film Mallrats, which starred Shannen Doherty, Jason Lee, Claire Forlani, and Jeremy London.

When discussing the potential sequel — that has been in stuck in limbo for years — during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Smith said that after Doherty’s death in July following a battle with cancer, he considered walking away from the project all together. “My first feeling after Shannen passed was like, ‘Well, that’s it,'” he told THR.

Kevin Smith Reveals Plan for Moving Forward With Mallrats 2 Without Shannen Doherty
Image
Kevin Smith's quest to finally realize a sequel to Mallrats has been many years in the making, but after the recent passing of one of the film's stars, the director had paused any further development of Mallrats 2. However, Smith recently revealed a possible solution that would act as a loving tribute to his late friend and collaborator.

Doherty passed away on July 13 after a long battle with cancer, understandably putting any ideas for a sequel out of Smith's mind. At the time of her passing, Smith posted a tribute via his Instagram to his late friend saying that Doherty "was the only reason Mallrats got green-lit in 1995." For a Mallrats sequel to happen, the loss of Doherty had to be acknowledged in some way, possibly excluding her character of Rene entirely. However, Smith appears to have come up with a possible solution, a re-casting that also acts as a loving tribute.

Kevin Smith on ‘The 4:30 Movie’ and Turning ‘Mallrats 2’ Into a Shannen Doherty Tribute
Image
The 4:30 Movie writer-director Kevin Smith is well aware that filmmakers are in a self-reflective phase, especially after the wake-up call that was the recent global pandemic. In the past few years alone, Kenneth Branagh (Belfast) and James Gray (Armageddon Time) have made period dramas based on their childhoods, but most notably, Steven Spielberg put out The Fabelmans in 2022, detailing how his parents’ divorce intersected with his budding filmmaking prowess. Smith’s 16th feature about his four first loves — his neighborhood movie theater, his adolescent crush and his two best friends — is already being compared to Spielberg’s most recent Oscar-nominated film.

“A lot of nice people online have been saying that [The 4:30 Movie] is kind of like The Fabelmans, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s sweet.’ And then The New York Times was like, ‘Yeah, it’s kind of like The Fabelmans if the kid grows up to make terrible movies,...

Mallrats 2: Will It Happen? Everything We Know

Quick Links Mallrats 2 Latest News Mallrats 2 Is Not Confirmed Mallrats 2 Cast Details Mallrats 2 Story Details Mallrats 2: Further News & Info

Kevin Smith's 1990s slacker comedy cult classic, Mallrats, has long been in need of a modern-day sequel, but will Mallrats 2 ever actually happen? Released in 1995 to little critical or commercial fanfare, Mallrats concerns a pair of aimless slackers (played by Jeremy London and Jason Lee) who spend an eventful day at the local mall after one of them breaks off their long-term relationship. Released in the wake of director Kevin Smith's groundbreaking indie hit, Clerks, Mallrats captured the cultural zeitgeist of the mid-'90s, but failed to score at the box office like its predecessor.

Bookended by much bigger hits in Kevin Smith's lengthy filmography, Mallrats is nevertheless a cult classic, and Smith has been keen on keeping the legend alive. Sequel hopes have been high in the nearly 30 years since the movie debuted,...

Mallrats 2 Delay Explained: Kevin Smith Gives Latest Update On Comedy Sequel
Image
Director Kevin Smith provides an update on the possibility of making Mallrats 2, a follow-up to his 90s cult classic. Written and directed by Smith, Mallrats was released in 1995 as the follow-up to his wildly successful comedy classic Clerks, and starred Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Shannen Doherty, Michael Rooker, and Claire Forlani. While the movie was not a box office success, it was popular on home video, and, like its predecessor, went on to develop a cult following.

In an interview with Deadline, Smith discusses the possibility of making Mattrats 2. The Chasing Amy director and New Jersey native previously planned to make the movie before Clerks III, even at one point announcing a 10-episode Mallrats TV show that never materialized. Speaking of his continued desire to see a Mallrats sequel, the 54-year-old discusses the challenges of getting the movie made with Universal, and his desire to make it independently. Kevin Smith Will Make Mallrats 2 Even if He Has to Finance It
Image
Kevin Smith is expecting another reasonable hit with The 4:30 Movie, but many fans have been wondering whether he will ever get to make his long-gestating sequel to Mallrats. Talk of Mallrats 2has been ongoing for a number of years now, but as well as there being little movement on the films development, the death of original star Shannen Doherty earlier this year made the impossible task seem almost even less likely than it was previously. It seems that was also how Smith originally felt too.

In a new interview with Deadline promoting The 4:30 Movie, Smith addressed the chances of Mallrats 2 ever being made, starting with how the death of Doherty seemed to be the end of the road for the sequel. He said:

"So, with Shannens passing, at that point, I was like, 'Well, I guess that kind of closes the book for us. But then a couple of weeks ago,...

Image
Kevin Smith has been dipping back into his View Askewniverse in recent years with the sequels Jay and Silent Bob Reboot and Clerks III, and has hinted at wanting to revisit another one of his beloved films, Mallrats, for its own sequel. With his latest film, The 4:30 Movie, now playing in theaters, Smith addresses the likelihood of a Mallrats sequel and what it would take for it to finally get off the ground.

In an interview with Deadline promoting The 4:30 Movie, Smith was asked what the status of Mallrats 2 was, as the director has publicly advocated making a sequel for many years now. Jeremy London Reveals Why Defending Gus Walz From Trolls Is ‘Personal’ (Video)

The sight of Tim Walz‘s son Gus tearfully standing up to proclaim “That’s my dad!” as he took the stage on Wednesday night’s (August 21) Democratic National Convention touched the hearts of audiences across the country. ‘The Black Mass’ – Gruesome True-Crime Horror Slashes Onto Screambox! [Trailer]

Actress-turned-filmmaker Devanny Pinn makes her directorial debut with The Black Mass, one of my favorite horror films of the year.

This gruesome and nasty slasher calls to mind serial killer thrillers of the past, including John McNaughton’s masterful Henry, and is now streaming on Screambox.

A true-crime thriller based on events in Florida during the winter of 1978, it unfolds over 24 hours and centers on a serial killer in the lead-up to his ultimate, deranged killing spree.

“Presenting a harrowing and unsettling portrayal of the twisted mind of a notorious murderer, Pinn also explores the devastating consequences of his violent actions on the victims and survivors alike,” FrightFest wrote out of its International Premiere.

'I Already Miss You': Kevin Smith Shares Touching Tribute to Mallrats' Shannen Doherty
Image
The passing of Shannen Doherty has many of her friends in mourning. Among them is Kevin Smith, the film director who became friends with Doherty three decades ago during the production of Mallrats.

On Sunday, it was announced that Doherty had died after living with cancer since 2015. She was just 53 years old. Hours after the announcement, Smith took to Instagram to share a handful of images of himself with Doherty, both from the 1990s along with a more recent reunion. The director went on to credit Doherty for getting Mallrats made, feeling grateful that she happened to pick his movie to be a part of coming off of the immense success of Beverly Hills, 90210.

‘The Black Mass’ Review
Image
Stars: Andrew Sykes, Devanny Pinn, Lew Temple, Jeremy London, Lisa Wilcox, Eileen Dietz, Nicky Whelan | Written by Eric Pereira, Brandon Slagle | Directed by Devanny Pinn

The Black Mass, the title of actress Devanny Pinn’s directorial debut is not, as one might guess, a reference to a Satanic ritual. It’s the description one of the survivors gave of the man who, across one long night in 1978, attacked four of her sorority sisters, killing two of them as well as attacking a random woman he encountered nearby.

That man was Ted Bundy. That doesn’t mean that The Black Mass is a typical true-crime film or even a straightforward slasher film. Pinn and co-writers Eric Pereira and Brandon Slagle keep the killer in the background figuratively and literally for much of the film.

While he is in almost every scene, or the scenes are shot from his perspective, for the...

Shannen Doherty Candidly Tells Kevin Smith That Mallrats Killed Her Movie Career
Image
Shannen Doherty believes that Mallrats' failure at the box office killed her movie career and was seen as her fault. Despite the film's poor performance, Mallrats has gained a strong following over time, leading to talks of a potential sequel. The progress of Mallrats 2 has been slow due to rights issues, but Kevin Smith may have something up his sleeve for its production.

Mallrats is considered one of Kevin Smith’s iconic cult classics that sits alongside his other View Askewniverse movies such as Clerks, but it wasn’t always that way as Shannen Doherty knows very well. Speaking to Smith on her Let’s Be Clear podcast, the Charmed star candidly told the director that the movie killed her movie career before it started thanks to its failure at the box office.

Doherty appeared in Mallrats alongside Smith, Jason Lee, Jason Mewes, Brian O’Halloran and Ben Affleck, but believes...

Shannen Doherty Tells Kevin Smith Her Film Career ‘Died’ Because of ‘Mallrats’ Box Office Failure: It ‘Was a Little Brutal’
Image
Kevin Smith has apologized to Shannen Doherty after she revealed to him his 1995 cult movie “Mallrats” killed her film career.

Doherty was reminiscing about the movie with Smith, a guest on her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast, when she pointed out that despite becoming a fan favorite, it had fared poorly at the box office when it was originally released.

“That’s kind of the interesting thing about ‘Mallrats,’ right, is that it wasn’t a box office success,” she told Smith, who replied “Oh, it died.”

“It died,” Doherty agreed. “So did my film career. That was it.”

Doherty was the most famous member of “Mallrats” when the movie came out, having already starred in “Heathers” and “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Smith even admitted during the podcast that it was largely because of Doherty’s involvement the film got greenlit.

When he asked Doherty during the podcast if she really...

Trailer for Musical Comedy 'Open' feat. 80's New Wave Hallucinations
Image
"I never start seeing anybody without stalking them first." Well, okay. Virgil Films has revealed an official trailer for an indie musical comedy called Open. A woman in a troubled marriage falls for her former teen heartthrob, who's fallen from industry favor, while having nagging (and empowering) hallucinations about fronting an 80's New Wave Band. Turns out this isn't really about wanting to be in a band, it's a weird story about open relationships and trouble romance. Starring Lindsay Anne Williams as Kristina, Jeremy London, William Forsythe, Amber Reign Smith, Elena Sanchez, and Miles Doleac. For the film's 10 original songs, writers Doleac & Williams partnered with their collaborator and composer, Clifton Hyde, and Oliver Hofer, to create a musical landscape "that's sure to delight fans of synth-driven 80’s post-punk." Or not. Because this looks really bad - the trailer is incoherent, and I don't expect the film to be any better.

Why James Marsden's Griffin Was Recast In Party Of Five Season 2
Image
Party of Five is a beloved show that aired from 1994 to 2000 and can still be streamed today, focusing on the Salinger siblings who face real-life challenges. James Marsden was initially cast as Griffin Holbrook, but was replaced by Jeremy London for season 2, as Marsden took on a bigger role in another show called Second Noah. Despite a small role in season 1, Griffin becomes a major character in Party of Five through his relationship with Julia, eventually marrying her and remaining a fixture in the series until the end.

Party of Five originally started with James Marsden cast as Griffin Holbrook, but he was recast with Jeremy London for season 2. First airing in 1994, Party of Five followed the five Salinger siblings as they are forced to live on their own and look after each other after their parents died in a car crash. Running for six seasons until 2000, Party of Five...

Black Mass: Devanny Pinn’s true crime serial killer thriller focuses on the victims
Image
When a filmmaker takes on a story based on the crimes committed by a real serial killer, they have to walk a fine line. If they cross that line, it can feel disrespectful to the victims… and can even seem like they’re glorifying the killer. That’s not something Devanny Pinn intends to do with her feature directorial debut a 1970s serial killer tale called Black Mass. Speaking with Rue Morgue, she revealed that Black Mass focuses on the victims rather than the killer.

Inspired by real events, Black Mass is set over a 24-hour period in Florida during the winter of 1978 when college girls were being stalked by a serial killer. Eric Pereira and Brandon Slagle wrote the screenplay. Cast members include Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Jeremy London (Mallrats), Lisa Wilcox (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master), Michelle Romano (Escape From Ensenada), Kathleen Kinmont...
