Exclusive: 1091 Pictures has scooped digital rights to actor Dante Basco’s (Hook) directorial debut, The Fabulous Filipino Brothers, with plans for a release across platforms on February 8, 2022.

Pic follows four brothers as their Fil-Am family prepares for the ultimate Filipino event: a wedding. It’s comprised of four vignettes, ranging in location from Northern California to The Philippiness, which feature everything from cockfights and adultery to romance, food and family.

Dante Basco and his brother Darion co-wrote the film, which made its world premiere at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival. Together, they star alongside their entire family, including brothers Derek and Dionysio, and sister Arianna, with Solenn Heussaff, Tirso Cruz III, Liza Lapira, Joe Jitsukawa and Joey Guilla rounding out the cast.

“Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” is set to make its broadcast debut on The CW.

The broadcaster will air the four-episode followup to the classic dramedy over four nights beginning Nov. 23 and concluding on Nov. 26. The episodes will air on each of the four nights at 8 p.m. Et/Pt. The show will also stream for free on the ad-supported CW app and cwtv.com for 30 days following its premiere. “A Year in the Life” originally aired on Netflix in 2016.

The news comes as fans are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original series, which began its run on The CW’s predecessor, The WB, in 2000. The show ran for seven seasons, concluding its run on The CW in 2007.

The series saw the return of Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as the indefatigable mother-daughter team of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. The series also starred Scott Patterson as Luke Danes,...

The Gilmore Girls are heading back to The CW after 20 years.

The network will air the four-part mini-series, which was ordered by Netflix and aired in 2016, as an event series starting Monday November 23 and running through the week. It will air the series on its linear network and will also stream for free on its ad-supported app and online for 30 days.

The announcement comes on the 20th anniversary of the show’s launch on The WB.

Deadline understands that the deal terms of the acquisition were worked out between Warner Bros, which produced the show in association with Dolly Parker Drank Here Productions, and Netflix, allowing The CW to have a window.

In The Remains, writer/director Thomas Della Bella whips up his best Amityville Horror impression without coming within miles of the long-standing genre classic. So many scenes skirt around an obvious possession situation that clueless characters miscalculate, as we’re supposed to believe a grieving family had no idea they were moving into a cursed death house.

Scares are bare-minimum mundane – evoking the essence of Wan without any flare – and performances call for help that’s never provided via style or substance. What little creativity Della Bella works into his story is floundered through executional boredom, while viewers are kept waiting for something more than haunted house clichés to scare up excitement.

Frankly, you’ve seen this all before, done a hell of a lot better, and not much worse.

We're half-way through the final season of HBO's "True Blood," so this is as good a time as any for a celebratory Comic-Con send-off. Sookie, Jason and Bill rallied up their vampire friends and staged a rescue mission to save Arlene and Nicole from becoming Hep-v dinner in True Blood’s “Death Is Not The End.”

Still reeling from the deaths of Alcide and Mrs. Fortenberry, Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) have the honor of making death notifications to Alcide’s father, Jackson (Robert Patrick), and Hoyt (Jim Parrack), who is working on an oilrig in Alaska. Last week, "True Blood" went on a killing spree, dispatching major characters and lesser recurring characters and bit players and new characters—including a few that had potential, such as Sarah Newlin’s guru boyfriend—with an indiscriminating, bland casualness. The only loss that was supposed to mean anything was the unexpected, last-minute killing of Alcide, but his shooting—at the hands of a couple of random gun nuts, just after he’d appeared from out of nowhere to help rescue Sookie from the infected vamps—was such a hectic mess, and carried so little dramatic weight, that the only real emotion came from the slow, mournful version of Steely Dan’s “Fire in the Hole” that played under the closing credits. Surprisingly, tonight’s episode begins with an effort at closure, as if real lives had been cut short, or at least as if real characters the audience cares...

It always feels strange when we know that a TV show is coming to an end. Much like with Dexter and its final season we know season seven of True Blood is the conclusion of the tale of Sookie Stackhouse and Bill the Vampire, but will we miss them? In preparation for the start of the new season, True Blood: The Complete Sixth Season is being released on DVD and Blu-ray and I guess the question to be answered in this review has to be if season six leads us into the final season on a high, or did it show signs of a show nearing a natural death? Or a true death as the vamps would call it.

True Blood: The Complete Sixth Season begins where the last ended, with Bill seemingly a Vampire God, Alcide a new pack master and Warlow seemingly ready to claim Sookie as his.

True Blood will return earlier this year in the UK, it has been confirmed.

The final season of the HBO vampire series has moved from its usual autumn slot, and will now air in July on Fox, just a couple of weeks after it first airs in the Us.

Full broadcast dates have yet to be announced for Fox, but it returns on Sunday, June 22 at 9/8c on HBO.

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer will return for True Blood's conclusion, alongside 90210 star Riley Smith, who has been cast as a 'rock 'n' roll vampire' named Keith.

HBO recently released a teaser trailer for the final season, showing a graveyard of deceased characters including Sookie's father Corbett Stackhouse (Jeffrey Brown) and war veteran Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe), before revealing a tombstone for the series itself.

In this new featurette, actor Christian Kane talks about his character (Mark Allen) in the upcoming 50 To 1. Based on Mine That Bird, the underdog racehorse that won the 2009 Kentucky Derby, the film opens in theaters March 21, 2014.

Two songs from Kane’s The House Rules (2010) album – “Something’s Gotta’ Give” and “Whiskey in Mind” – are featured in the 50 To 1 soundtrack.

The cast and filmmakers of 50 To 1 will hit the road rock-star style on a cross-country tour beginning March 17 to promote the major motion picture’s release.

Cast members set for the tour are Skeet Ulrich, Christian Kane, Todd Lowe and Hugo Perez.Also on tour will be filmmakers Jim Wilson and Faith Conroy. As a very special treat – the real Mine That Bird will make special appearances along the way.

Sundance just ended, and we are already preparing for the next big film festival, South By Southwest. Not too long ago, the festival announced a few of the films premiering this year, but now they’ve announced the main slate. The midnight selections and some inevitable late-breaking additions are still to be announced, but this should be more than enough to get you excited. Along with many World Premieres, and Sundance favorites like Richard Linklater’s Boyhood and Gareth Evans’ The Raid 2, the line up also includes an anniversary screening of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and an extended Q&A screening of The Grand Budapest Hotel with Wes Anderson. Listed in the announcement are 115 of the features that will screen over the course of nine days at SXSW 2014. The lineup below includes 68 films from first-time filmmakers, and consists of 76 World Premieres, 10 North American Premieres and 7 U.S. Premieres. These films were selected from a record 2,215 feature-length film submissions composed of 1,540 U.S. and 675 international feature-length films. After announcing earlier this month that Jon Favreau’s Chef and the Veronica Mars movie will be making their world debuts at SXSW this year, the festival has revealed its full line-up, including further very promising world premieres, alongside appearances from some of the year’s most high-profile films.

The Midnight programme will be announced early next month, along with the Shorts line-up, and the complete Conference slate a little later as well.

Led by Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, Nicholas Stoller’s anticipated R-rated comedy, Neighbors, will be making its world debut at the festival, notably marked out as a ‘work-in-progress’ ahead of its theatrical release in May.

David Gordon Green’s acclaimed Joe will make its Us premiere, having bowed at Venice and then Toronto last year. Early reviews have Nicolas Cage giving one of the finest performances of his career, with Tye Sheridan (Mud) excellent alongside him.
