Hallmark Channel knows how to look after its customers by adding all this year’s Countdown to Christmas 2024 movies to Hallmark+. This means subscribers to the newly updated streaming channel can watch new movies on the day after they premiere.

Thanks to Hallmark, all the Countdown to Christmas and Miracles of Christmas movies will be available for streaming on Hallmark+. The newly rebranded streaming channel will now stream the movies, despite originally planning to wait 6-9 before releasing them.

Everyone’s getting into the holiday movie game now, bringing Hallmark competition for must-watch programming over the fall and winter months. But is Hallmark still the reigning champion, or have Lifetime or Netflix come out on top for 2024? Hallmark once again had the numbers, with nearly 50 films debuting across Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Mystery, and Hallmark+. That included a new Debbie Macomber film, Joyful Mrs. Miracle, the sequel Three Wiser Men and a Boy, a When Calls the Heart reunion in Santa Tell Me, football in Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, and the meta Sugarplummed. Plus network favorites teamed up for the first time in movies such as Jingle Bell Run, The Christmas Quest, and The Santa Class. Over on Lifetime, real-life spouses starred in The Holiday Junkie, Sarah Drew wrote and executive produced A Carpenter Christmas Romance, and Christmas in the Spotlight took some inspiration from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship.

Every year, you know you can tune in to Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery and have quite the pick of holiday movies between “Countdown to Christmas” and “Miracles of Christmas.” And every year, you know you end up having your favorite and the one you think was the best of the batch. With 47 new movies across the two linear networks and the streaming service Hallmark+, there are quite a number of contenders. There were new movies in fan-favorite franchises (Debbie Macomber’s Joyful Mrs. Miracle was a great addition), sequels to big hits (Three Wiser Men and a Boy was just as entertaining as the first), long-awaited cast reunions (Santa Tell Me finally brought When Calls the Heart‘s Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing back onscreen together), and even some sports mixed in. The one major complaint from Hallmark lovers about the launch of Hallmark+ was that they couldn’t watch new movies on the streamer.

It appears that Hallmark fans are getting their wish. The feel-good entertainment company had been attempting to thread a particularly difficult needle with the rebranding of its subscription video-on-demand streaming service Hallmark+. In an effort to not upset their linear distribution partners, when Hallmark refreshed and relaunched its streamer, its library was highlighted by a handful of exciting original movies and series, built on the foundation of years of films that originally aired on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery. However, what was noticeably lacking and increasingly frustrating to fans was that those channels’ new films were not available to stream on the service. Now, it appears that will change in the new year.

Hallmark are gifting fans an early Christmas movie. They are releasing all of their 2024 Countdown To Christmas and Miracles Of Christmas movies to the rebranded Hallmark+ streaming channel. This is a reversal of the network’s original decision to wait 6-9 months before releasing new movies.

However, that is not the only change. In addition, they made a major change when they stream 2025 linear movies on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery. Here are all the details.

The cable network announced Tuesday that it will offer viewers a special event night with a double dose of primetime drama on Sunday, March 26.

The big night kicks off with the highly-anticipated season finale of its critically acclaimed, hit multigenerational family drama series The Way Home.

The freshman drama moves to an earlier time slot of 8 p.m. Et/Pt.

After The Way Home wraps its run, we'll be introduced to the new drama series, Ride, at 9 p.m. Et/Pt.

Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams, and Sadie Laflamme-Snow (The Apprentice) star in The Way Home, which premiered Sunday, January 15, and has become a runaway hit for the cable network.

Over its first three episodes, The Way Home grew from its premiere to become cable's #1 program on Sundays.

Exclusive: Anonymous Content has closed a first-look deal with Theresa Park’s film and TV banner Per Capita Productions.

Park’s Per Capita Productions is focused an auteur-driven, independent films, primarily based on literary material.

Most recently, Park produced Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All starring Timothée Chalamet, Taylor Russell and Mark Rylance. The movie has been nominated for 2023 Independent Spirit Awards for Best Feature Film, Best Lead Performance and Best Supporting Performance; received two acting nominations from the Gotham Awards; and won the Silver Lion at Venice for Best Director; and Best New Talent for Russell. Bones and All was financed by The Apartment Pictures (a Fremantle company) and produced by that studio’s Lorenzo Mieli as well.

Park also produced the film After Yang with Cinereach for A24, starring Colin Farrell, Jodie Turner-Smith and Justin Min, adapted by writer-director Kogonada from Alexander Weinstein’s short story Saying Goodbye to Yang.

The Way Home is adding another big star to its cast.

Hallmark announced Tuesday that Chyler Leigh has joined the cast of its new original primetime series.

The project is slated to begin production later this month for a 2023 premiere on Hallmark Channel.

Leigh plays Kat Landry, who moved away from her small, Canadian farm town of Port Haven many years ago following a family tragedy, and remains estranged from her mother Del (Andie MacDowell) to this day.

With her marriage coming to an end and having just been laid off from her job, Kat decides to return home after receiving an unexpected letter from Del urging her to come back.

Although her 15-year-old daughter Alice is none-too-thrilled, Kat and her daughter arrive at her family’s farm, though the reunion isn’t what Kat had envisioned.

Andie MacDowell is returning to Hallmark.

Per Deadline, the onetime Cedar Cove star has joined the cast of The Way Home.

The series is the cabler's first series to get a formal pickup since 2016.

MacDowell is best known to Hallmark audiences for her work on Cedar Cove (2013-2015), the network's first original scripted series.

She will play Del, the "matriarch of the Landry family and a pillar of the close-knit community of her small, Canadian farm town," according to Deadline's character breakdown.

Del and her daughter, Kat, have been estranged from each other following harrowing events that changed their family forever and prompted Kat to move away.

Apple TV Plus released a trailer for “Invasion,” which launches Oct. 22 with it first three episodes.

The new series hails from Simon Kinberg and David Weil and is set across multiple continents as citizens across the globe struggle to deal with the titular event, which at first presents as smaller and more manageable issues.

Jesse Metcalfe will bow out of the beloved Hallmark drama during its forthcoming fifth season.

Deadline first reported the news.

“A new season of Hallmark Channel’s highly popular scripted series, Chesapeake Shores, is returning this summer. Jesse Metcalfe, who plays Trace Riley, has decided to leave the show. His character’s storyline will wrap up early in Season Five,” Hallmark Channel said in a statement to the outlet.

“Jesse is a valued member of the Crown Media family; we look forward to continuing to work with him on projects, including original movies on Hallmark Channel, as well as his Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ movie series, Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries, the next installment of which premieres on May 16."

The country music icon is teaming with Reel World Management (Netflix's Virgin River) to develop a drama based on best-selling author Debbie Macomber's Heart of Texas novels. Twain will also write original music for the potential series.

Productions have acquired film rights to the short story Saying Goodbye to Yang by Alexander Weinstein, which is part of the author’s book of short stories, Children of the New World from publisher Picador. Park is teaming with Cinereach, to develop and produce a film adaptation, to be adapted and directed by Kogonada (Columbus).

Saying Goodbye to Yang is set in a world where robotic children are purchased as live-in-babysitters. The story follows Yang, a robotic Chinese “Big Brother,” programmed to help his little sister learn about her cultural heritage. Such is the sort of dilemma that good ol' Olivia Lockhart (Andie MacDowell) is here to fix in the second season of Cedar Cove (2013-), based on the series by Debbie Macomber. Macomber writes more books in a year than I get haircuts. The Cedar Cove series got a new member about once a year from 2001 to 2011. She even wrote some of the scripts for this show. How she ever found time to knit and then write a book on the subject boggles the mind. Then again, if her books are as full of banal common sense and low drama as the Hallmark "original" series, then I'm pretty sure all you need is a life supply of adderall to put together one of these manuscripts at typing speed. Reading them must be like eating paste. Some people like paste.
