Prue has been a news reporter with TCN-9 Sydney and reporter and
presenter for the current affairs programme, No Man's Land, and her own
daily current affairs show in Townsville. After a cadetship with
Eastern Suburbs Newspapers, Prue worked as a news reporter for Radio
6PR Perth and Radio 3AK Melbourne. Returning to print she was a
contributor for New Idea and The Age newspapers before becoming a
senior journalist with TV Week and the magazine's NSW editor. In
addition to her duties as TV Week writer and editor, Prue handled all
media liaison for TV Week's annual Logie Awards, organising press
conferences and interviews for Logie celebrity presenters. Among those
she looked after were John Wayne, Ernest Borgnine, Loretta Swit,
Lindsay Wagner and Priscilla Presley. During her time as a journalist,
Prue studied marketing at Sydney's University of Technology gaining a
Diploma in Advertising. Prue founded her own company, PMA (Prue
MacSween & Associates) in 1986, which is a Registered Consultancy with
the PRIA and of which Prue is a member. Regarded as one of the top
public relations companies in Australia, PMA handles accounts both
internationally as well as in Australia. Prue served as Deputy Chairman
of the NSW Bi Centennial Committee, was a member of the Sydney 2000 Bid
Announcement Committee, responsible for planning the Sydney
announcement of the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Currently she is on the Board
of the Australian Day Council (NSW) Chairman of the Marketing Committee
for Australian Day (NSW) and is Deputy Chairman of the NSW Centennary
of Federation Committee and a board member of the NSW State Chamber of
Commerce.
