Bengaluru, May 22 (Ians) Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Sanjay Bangar believes things just were ‘not clicking’ for veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik to bring out his famed finishing knocks for the franchise in Ipl 2023.
Karthik’s failure to get finishing kicks for the team in Ipl 2023 hurt Bangalore a lot, apart from meagre returns from other middle-order batters too. In Ipl 2022, Karthik hit 330 runs at a strike rate of 183.33 in 16 matched and helped the side get desired finishing touches to their innings, which also paved his way into India’s squad for 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
“We tried to define the role for him. We made sure that he was walking in at the moments or in the phases where his strengths could have been maximised. And he had an outstanding season (last year). So I don’t think that his efforts or his preparation or the role...

Bangalore, May 13 (Ians) Getting an opportunity to play for a team with such a large fanbase is every sportsman’s dream. Rising all-rounder Mahipal Lomror, who was picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the 2022 mega auction, considers himself among of the proud ones.
Speaking on the latest episode of Rcb Bold Diaries, Lomror opened up about his excitement after he came to know that he would be playing for Rcb.
“My expectations from the auction were very high. The 2-3 trials I had given had all gone well. Even in the prior Ipl seasons I had performed well in the 4-5 opportunities that I got so I expected some team would pick me. So, when Rcb signed me, I thought to myself that I will be playing in the same team as Virat Kohli, a team that has such a big name and fanbase. I felt proud.”

New Delhi, May 7 (Ians) Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rcb) pacer Mohammed Siraj lost his cool at Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batter Phil Salt and both were involved in a heated exchange during Match No. 50 of Ipl 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, here on Saturday.
The incident happened in the penultimate over of the Power-play during Delhi’s run chase. Salt, who was in sublime touch, hit Siraj for 6,6 and 4 on the trot, which rattled the pacer.
To bounce back, Siraj bowled a short-pitched delivery to Salt, who threw his bat at it, only for the umpire to call it a wide.
The 29-year-old Siraj wasn’t happy at all with the umpire’s decision as he approached Salt and gave the Englishman a mouthful.
DC captain David Warner tried to act as a peacemaker, but Siraj was in no mood to listen to his first Ipl captain and also gave him the same treatment.

Pune, Nov 12 (Ians) Surender Gill’s inspired raiding helped the U.P. Yoddhas achieve a 41-30 victory over the Telugu Titans in the second game of the day in the Pro Kabaddi League (Pkl) Season 9 at the Shree Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi here on Saturday.
Gill (13 points) was the undoubted star of the day, while Siddharth Desai’s (11 points) phenomenal effort came in a losing effort.
Even though the Titans, under pressure and lacking confidence, are stuck at the bottom of the table, the early stages of this match-up defied the predictions. The Titans matched the Yoddhas raid-for-raid, and with neither defence firing — it took almost 10 minutes for the first tackle point — the game looked set to be a high-scoring encounter.
The gridlock was broken by Surender Gill, whose Super Raid caught out Vishal Bhardwaj, Parvesh Bhainswal, Mohsen Maghsoudlou and Ankit leaving only two Titans on the mat. The first...
