Dwayne Johnson’s Stake in WWE: The Rock’s Share in Tko Group Revealed
Image
Dwayne Johnson’s wrestling career with the WWE began in 1996 when he debuted in the Survivor Series under the name Rocky Maivia. He was quickly pushed to the front by the company, as he won the Intercontinental Championship against Triple H just a year after his debut. "High Chief vs. Tribal Chief": Did WWE Just Tease Roman Reigns vs. The Rock for WrestleMania 41?
Image
It may finally be time for WWE to deliver a delayed WrestleMania dream match. One year ago, it seemed as if the stage was set for Roman Reigns to go toe-to-toe with The Rock on the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, the vitriol of the WWE Universe vehemently against Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes being passed over forced WWE to pivot into Rhodes vs. Reigns II.

One year later, WWE seems to be planting the seeds again for Roman Reigns vs. The Rock at WrestleMania, but this time, they may actually follow through based on an emphasis on their Samoan titles. Monday Night Raw's premiere on Netflix saw Reigns defeat Solo Sikoa to become the undisputed Tribal Chief, but not without the blessing of The Rock presenting Reigns with the Ula Fala.

What's most significant about their post-match interaction is that, prior, The Rock continually emphasized that he...

Dwayne Johnson's Family Connections To The Moana Franchise Explained
Image
Disney's Moana 2 brought Dwayne Johnson back as Maui, a role that he has a deep connection with through his family. The long-anticipated sequel to 2016's Moana saw the titular character embarking on a new adventure across the ocean with a new crew, to unite the islands; she eventually reunites with Maui, and they battle together against the storm god, Nalo, and raise the island of Motufetu. While the sequel didn't quite reach the same level as the original critically, Moana 2 has broken box office milestones and is regarded as one of Disney's best sequels.

Dwayne Johnson Talks About Wearing Tattooed Bodysuit While Filming Live Action ‘Moana’
Image
While Dwayne Johnson is certainly no slacker when it comes to muscles and tattoos, the actor has revealed that he’s worn a bodysuit while shooting Disney’s live-action Moana movie.

Johnson, of course, plays Maui, the incredibly buff demi god whose many tattoos help tell the story in the animated films.

After paparazzi caught Johnson in character on set, he was asked recently by Extra if he had “bulked up” for the live-action role, given that his physique looked different in the photos. Johnson came clean.

“That’s a suit that took a long time to put on,” he revealed. “So, I’m so happy you said, ‘You bulked up,’ because when you say, ‘You bulked up,’ that means you couldn’t tell.”

He added, “That is a couple of hours every day of transforming, putting that on. We shot outside and when those pictures surfaced, I was like,...

Moana: Latest Set Photos From Live-Action Remake Confirm The Rock Will Wear A Muscle Suit To Play Maui
Image
As we first reported on Toonado.com, a second wave of set photos for the upcoming live-action Moana remake has just surfaced (via Mail Online) and these feature a much closer look at Catherine Laga'aia's title character and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Maui.

After seeing the blurry shots from yesterday, many fans quickly pointed out that it looked like the pro wrestler had somehow bulked up to portray a real-life version of the character he first voiced for 2016's Disney Animation hit.

Well, it turns out the actor has donned a muscle suit. This is a little ironic, particularly as many felt Johnson was taking a shot at Zachary Levi for wearing one in Shazam! while promoting Black Adam (he captioned a social media post by saying, "this is not your typical DC or Marvel padded muscle suit").

Maui has a very specific build, though, and it seems...

Disney Announces Live-Action Remake Of Moana With Dwayne Johnson, Just 6 Years After The Original
Image
If you thought Disney was slowing down with its live-action remakes of animated hits, you thought wrong. Instead, the Mouse House is putting its foot on the accelerator by announcing a live-action remake of "Moana," a mere six years and change after the original arrived in theaters. Dwayne Johnson, who voiced the South Pacific demigod Maui in the animated film and even showed off his singing skills in the number "You're Welcome," announced the "reimagining" (Disney's preferred branding for its live-action remakes) in a video that also features his two youngest daughters, Jasmine and Tiana.

Johnson intends to reprise his role as Maui, but while actress Auli'i Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the 2016 original, is attached as an executive producer, there's no indication yet that she'll be returning on-screen alongside Johnson. The remake is still in very early development; "Moana" screenwriter Jared Bush and Samoan writer/producer Dana Ledoux Miller...

‘F*** the villain’: Dwayne Johnson says he can see himself as James Bond
Image
Dwayne Johnson has said that he’s far more interested in playing James Bond than a villain in the action franchise.

The actor’s grandfather Peter Maivia, who was also a wrestler, played a “bad guy” opposite Sean Connery in the 1967 Bond film You Only Live Twice.

In a new interview, Johnson was asked what film series he’d most like to appear in, when he recalled his family connection to 007.

“You know my grandfather was in You Only Live Twice?” he told LadBible. “He was, he was a bad guy in You Only Live Twice. He had this amazing fight scene with Sean Connery. Yeah, I could see that... I would easily say James Bond.”

Adding that he would also like to appear in a Star Wars film, he continued: “I see myself as James Bond. F*** the villain! An American Bond? It can happen, right? It’s like Henry Cavill playing Superman.

Seven Things You Didn't Know About Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne Johnson
By Tara Fowler

This weekend sees the sixth (sixth!) installment of the "Fast & Furious" franchise hit theaters (and it's not the last — a seventh is set for next summer). Here are seven things you may or may not have known about Johnson and his 18-inch biceps below:
