One might not have noticed, but Akshay Kumar owns the biggest franchise in Hindi Cinema. The Khiladi franchise has as many as 8 films. Interestingly, except for two, all of them have done exceedingly well, earning a hit tag for themselves. All of these 8 films are standalone films.

Akshay starred in the first Khiladi film in 1992, which was his first successful action film. In fact, the name Khiladi Kumar was coined for the actor since he never looked back after the first film’s success.

All the Khiladi films belong to the action genre, and Akshay Kumar was the first action superstar of the 90s. The only film in the Khiladi franchise that was not action-dominated was Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi, which belonged to the comedy genre.

Actor Emraan Hashmi shared a glimpse with actor Akshay Kumar, whom he tagged as the ‘Og Khiladi’ , from the sets of the revamped version of the song ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’.

Emraan also shared that the two will be seen having a dance-off on the recreated version of the track in the upcoming film ‘Selfiee’.

He took to Instagram and wrote: “28 Years after the original. The Og khiladi with the new Anari. This stare down led to a dance off. And what a dance off it was. (Haven’t stopped icing my feet ever since).”

Emraan also posted a picture on the photo-sharing website, where his and Akshay Kumar’s back is towards the camera. The two are seen wearing bedazzled jackets and are having a stare-off.

The original number is from the 1994 film ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ featuring Akshay alongside Saif Ali Khan.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will be seen recreating the magic of the 1994 song ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ for the upcoming film ‘Selfiee’. However, he also penned quirky birthday note for actor Saif Ali Khan, who starred in the movie alongside him 28 years ago.

Taking to his Instagram, Akshay shared a video of him dancing to the song, ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ from the film with the same name.

He captioned it: “It’s been 28 years but dancing again to the tunes of Main Khiladi Tu Anari for #Selfiee still brings back fondest memories. Especially when it happens to be the birthday of my partner-in-crime in the original, Saif Ali Khan. He’s not on social media but wishes reach nonetheless. Happy Birthday, brother!”
