Natalie Portman's Controversial 30-Year-Old Action Thriller Gets Free Streaming Home

Lon: The Professional will soon have a free new streaming home. The 1994 Luc Besson-helmed action thriller marked Natalie Portman's feature film debut in a role viewed as more controversial over time.

Lon: The Professional will hit Tubi on November 1. Written and directed by Besson, the film starred Portman alongside Jean Reno and Gary Oldman. The action thriller follows Reno's titular Lon, a professional hitman who reluctantly takes Portman's twelve-year-old Mathilda Lando under his wing after a corrupt DEA agent, Oldman's Norman Stansfield, kills her family. The movie's cast also includes Danny Aiello, Michael Badalucco, Ellen Greene, Peter Appel, Adam Busch, Joseph Malerba, Mawenn, George Martin, Keith A. Glascoe, Willi One Blood, and Jean-Hugues Anglade in a cameo role.

Do New Clips For French Creature Feature Prey Point To France Release Date
Antoine Blossier's creature flick 'Prey' (Aka 'Proie') is amazingly still yet to be unleashed in its home country, France. Even though it briefly popped up in theatres stateside last year those Frenchies are still waiting, but low and behold things are looking up as a couple of new clips from the movie have arrived so all things appear to be moving in the right direction. Berenice Bejo, Gregoire Colin, Isabelle Renauld, Francois Levantal, Fred Ulysse and Joseph Malerba are all on board. Check out the two new clips below....

IFC Films Announces a December 3rd Relese Date for French Creature Feature Prey
IFC Films has announced a December 5th release date for Antoine Blossier's Prey. A trailer on this picture was recently posted (here) and with the arrival of a set launch date, fans can prepare to see the ferocious of a wild beast set loose in the French countryside. More details on this picture are below.

The synopsis for Prey is here:

"One night, several deer hurl themselves unexpectedly against the electric fence of a farm. Seeing deep signs of biting on the animals’ bodies, the farm owners realize that a predator is roaming about the neighbouring woods. Having determined to hunt it down, the farmer and his family penetrate deep into the surrounding forest. They look with bewilderment at the dying environment ravaged by a mysterious evil force. As the sun slowly sinks away, howling resounds through the forest. The hunters have become prey..." (IFC Films).

Release Date: December 3th (Video-on-demand).

IFC Readying its Genre Slate for December 2010/January 2011
It was way back in May when IFC Midnight acquired writer/director Antoine Blossier's debut feature Proie (Prey), and finally, come December we'll be able to watch it either On Demand (starting on the 1st) or in selected theatres (as of the 3rd).

The film, co-written by Blossier and Erich Vogel, stars Grégoire Colin, Bérénice Bejo, François Levantal, Joseph Malerba, Fred Ulysse, and Isabelle Renauld. It was produced by Polaris Film Finance & Production and Quasar Pictures.

Synopsis:

One night several deer hurl themselves unexpectedly against the electric fence of a farm. Wild Boars and Pesticides Equals Oinky Chaos in this Trailer for Prey
Prey is a film from Polaris Films, which is a French language film. The film is expected to release in France later this year, now that production is complete. IFC Films also has plans to distribute this film in theatres, at a future time and here you will find the film's first trailer.

The premise of the film involves a man-eating animal and his or her brood. The trailer below is a little grainy, but viewers will likely see a hint of large boar hidden partially in darkness. Have a read of the synopsis and delve into the bush with the clip below.

Writer/director Antoine Blossier's first feature film is new French creature horror flick 'Prey' (Aka 'Proie').
