Despite the 10 films under the "Fast & Furious" banner — each at varying levels of quality — the franchise's first sequel, "2 Fast 2 Furious," is still something of a black sheep within the saga. A lot of it has to do with the wild change in locale, which pivoted from Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) Nos-fueled thieving in Los Angeles to follow the street racing scene in Miami with Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker). Compared to the grounded thrills of its predecessor — and the American muscle that supported a lot of that action — "2 Fast" felt like a completely different world. Fortunately, director John Singleton wasted absolutely no time immersing us in that world and introducing audiences to the custom-painted imports, campy Y2K threads, and memorable characters that lived in it.

It's very rare that I want a show to come back from hiatus as much as Burn Notice. A case can be made that the fourth season is its best to date. Thankfully, the wait is over.
I don't think it shocks anyone that Michael is alive after being shot at the end of "Guilty As Charged." "Eyes Open" takes place a mere three days later, as all of John Barrett's misdeeds are being exposed, and he's recovering from his injuries in the hospital. There's a great callback to the Burn Notice pilot when Fiona kicks him in an attempt to get him to come around, just as she did to wake him up when he was first dumped in Miami.
Once Michael is up and moving, he wants to pick up where he left off, much to Madeline's annoyance. The hospital is the last place he'd like to be.

Burn Notice just keeps burning it up. It's winning ratings battles not just in the cable channel ghetto but when going up against the networks. The show, about the trials and tribulations of Michael Westen, discredited covert operative, has become popular.
But it is certainly not populist. Burn Notice has stuck to its subversive roots, with recipes for MacGyvering up everything from surveillance equipment to homemade explosives. And with supporting stars like Bruce Campbell, Sharon Gless and Gabrielle Anwar backing up Jeffrey Donovan, this show is anything but the usual television fare.
