She was an actress, known for Clash of the Titans (1981), All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989) and BBC Sunday-Night Theatre (1950). She was married to Colm O'Kelly. She died on 8 March 2009 in Waterford, County Waterford, Ireland.

She married Colm O'Kelly, a stage manager and actor. Not long afterward, the company went to Egypt on tour. O'Kelly went swimming in the Nile, contracted polio, and died. They had been married less than a year. Manahan never remarried.
