“Khakee: The Bengal Chapter Leaves Bihar Far Behind” – A Subhash K Jha Review
Image
Neeraj Pandey’s Khakee: The Bengal Chapter would have been the perfect crime thriller were it not for a couple of incongruous performance which impede the other-wise pitch-perfect crime thriller, arguably the best we have seen in ages. Khakee: The Bengal Chapter boasts of razor-sharp writing and unexpected twists and turns all through.

A coiling-recoiling raga of rage plays itself out in the combustive length and breadth of the lengthy parable on crime and violence in the ‘City Of Bhoy (fear)’, as a character describes the crime situation in Kolkata.

The series kickstarts in a stunning swirl of bloodshed and deceit when an honest cop, Saptarishi (Parambrata Chatterjee), is slayed by the goons of a gangster, Bagha (played by tonally attuned Saswat Chatterjee). The ensuing bedlam in the City keeps up the cops all night, as we, too, sleepless until the lengthy but never dull episodes are done.

Embracing the...

‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ Ending Explained & Finale Recap: Is Ranjit Dead Or Alive?
Image
The ending of Khakee: The Bengal Chapter was all about Ips Arjun trying to find Ranjit and make him pay for killing his predecessor, Ips Saptarishi, and committing several other crimes. Ranjit used to work alongside Sagor for the dreaded gangster Bagha, who in turn was working for Cm Shirshendu’s right-hand man, Barun. When Bagha insulted Ranjit and Sagor for trying to rise up the ranks of the world of crime by killing Saptarishi, the duo killed Bagha and became Barun’s most trusted aides. After that, when Barun began favoring Sagor over Ranjit and supported his political ambitions and sidelined his sidekick, Ranjit retaliated by not only sexually assaulting a close friend, Deepa, but also attempting to kill her and her father, Manik, in a bomb explosion. Sagor’s wife, Manjula, became collateral damage, causing Sagor to go on a bloody rampage. Hence, Ranjit killed Sagor, and he...

10 The Simpsons Cast Members Who Voice Characters On Futurama
Image
Futurama and The Simpsons share a number of voice actors, with Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright, Jan Hooks, Hank Azaria, Kevin Michael Richardson, Tress MacNeille, Frank Welker, and Maurice Lamarche all contributing to both shows. Several cast members from The Simpsons have made guest appearances on Futurama, including Dan Castellaneta as The Robot Devil, Nancy Cartwright as a Bart Simpson doll, and Jan Hooks as both Manjula and Angleyne. The crossover between the two shows goes beyond voice actors, with numerous guest stars appearing as themselves on both Futurama and The Simpsons, and even some fictional characters from The Simpsons being depicted on Futurama.

When Matt Groening launched Futurama in 1999, it was very much viewed as his follow-up to The Simpsons. The show opted to stay away from comparisons to The Simpsons in some ways such as avoiding Halloween specials and embracing a new animation style that would enhance its hand-drawn...

How Pat Sajak Kicked Off His Final ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Season
Image
Right now, it’s business as usual on Wheel of Fortune, but fans can start counting down the days that they’ll see Pat Sajak as the game show’s host — not that you’d know that by the Season 41 premiere. Sajak (who has hosted the nighttime version of Wheel since it debuted in 1983) and Vanna White walked out like usual to kick off the episode on Monday, September 11. “Another year,” Sajak remarked. “Yes, 41,” White agreed. “But who’s counting?” Sajak then asked. That was all that was said before the focus turned to the gameplay, with Sajak jokingly calling the contestants the season’s first three “victims” and getting to the puzzles. Sajak also had fun with the players when, for the prize puzzle with the category Person, all three — Kevin, Valerie, and Manjula — started the round off by guessing incorrect letters. “I’d like to point out ...

Dahaad’s Anand Swarnakar closely reflects a real-life serial killer — Cyanide Mohan
Image
CrimeVijay Varma’s character in Dahaad seems to be loosely based on a mild-mannered teacher turned serial killer from Karnataka, though there has been no official confirmation from the show’s creators.Anand Swarnakar, the dreaded serial killer in Amazon Prime’s latest web series Dahaad, can send chills down the viewers’ spines. He does not employ violent methods to kill his victims, nor does he leave behind gruesome murder scenes. On the contrary, he is a mild-mannered Hindi professor in a local girls’ college in Rajasthan’s Mandawa, who analyses love poetry in his classes. It is precisely this polite demeanour that makes Anand, played by Vijay Varma, all the more terrifying. Though there has been no official confirmation from the creators of the show, Anand’s character seems to be loosely based on a mild-mannered teacher turned serial killer from Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka — Mohan Kumar aka Cyanide Mohan.
