Star Trek Actors From Multiple Eras Appeared In A Forgotten Britney Spears Movie
Image
There are different kinds of stardom. There's the level of fame one achieves by simply being newsworthy for whatever reason in their chosen field, there's the crossover success one attains by appealing to millions of people from different demographics, and then there's the supernova stardom that makes musicians want to become actors, actors become musicians, and athletes become both (typically to their detriment).

As the world entered the 21st century, there were few people more famous than Britney Spears. The teen idol had knocked out two multi-platinum albums, "... Baby One More Time" and "Oops! ... I Did It Again," and caused something of a scandal with her sexy schoolgirl music video for the title track of the former. The provocation worked sensationally in her favor: The public was obsessed with Spears, which led to her landing a hosting gig on "Saturday Night Live" and, predictably, the starring role in a feature film.

Hayden Panettiere and Grace Caroline Currey Take on a Wild Pack of Dogs in ‘A Breed Apart’ Trailer [Exclusive]
Image
Hayden Panettiere (Scream VI) is digging back into her horror roots with Collider’s exclusive first look at Lionsgate’s A Breed Apart. Set for a theatrical, digital, and on-demand release on May 16, the carnage-filled horror comedy is the latest to come from brotherly directorial duo, Griff and Nathan Furst — known collectively as The Furst Brothers. Using social media as a foundation, the movie builds an ominous and thrilling story with the help of its lineup of talent which, along with Panettiere, also includes Grace Caroline Currey (the Shazam! film series), Virginia Gardner (Beautiful Disaster), Riele Downs (Darby and the Dead), Page Kennedy (Blue Mountain State), Zak Steiner (Jessica Jones), Joey Bragg (Liv and Maddie), and Troy Gentile (The Goldbergs).

Crossroads Is on Netflix: Everything You Need to Know About the Iconic Film
Image
If you were a kid in the early aughts, chances are you’re already familiar with Crossroads. Written by Shonda Rhimes, this coming-of-age movie follows three childhood friends as they embark on a road trip that will change them for good.

Like much of Rhimes’ other work, the story takes on taboo topics with a sense of humor and care that makes it feel both entertaining and nuanced. The journey explores what it means to be on the cusp of adulthood; Spears’ song, “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman” underscores the thesis of the film.

Crossroads first premiered in 2002 and is available to stream on Netflix in the US!

Set in a small Georgia town, the film begins with three childhood friends who’ve grown in vastly different directions over the course of high school. Lucy (Spears) is the valedictorian, Kit (Saldaña) is...

When these two facts are combined, it explains why some of the industry's most prominent actors started their careers on reality TV.

Everyone knows that megastars like Kim Kardashian and Kelly Clarkson rose to prominence thanks to reality TV. However, the vast majority of reality stars have to settle for fifteen minutes of fame, if they leave any impression at all. Image
Jon Davison, the lead singer of the legendary progressive-rock band Yes since 2012, is firing back at a copyright-infringement lawsuit filed last week over the group’s 2021 single “Dare to Know.” In a lengthy statement posted on the band’s website today, Davison says the new legal claim from fellow prog-rock musician Riz Story — someone he says he previously considered a friend — is an “utterly fictitious” and “defamatory” attempt at a “shakedown.”

“You can legit burn in Hell”: Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad Legacy Got Eternally Tarnished after 1 Actress Claimed a Major Star of the Show Abused Her
Image
Breaking Bad transformed pop culture, began the Netflix renaissance, and lifted Bryan Cranston out of his relatively obscure career in Hollywood. If not for Vince Gilligan and his eye for talent, the majority of the series cast would have been encased in guest/supporting roles or in Cranston’s case, as a middle-aged dad in a dysfunctional family sitcom after Malcolm in the Middle.

In hindsight, however, not all facets of the AMC sleeper hit are laudable. There are darker truths, allegations, and unsolved mysteries hidden within the annals of Breaking Bad history. Cast members were accused of crimes so flagrant that they would be blacklisted by the industry in today’s socio-political climate. One such accusation almost destroyed the reputation of Breaking Bad, if not tarnished its legacy entirely.

Every Season Of Orange Is The New Black, Ranked
Image
Spoilers for all of "Orange is the New Black" ahead.

"Orange is the New Black" is among the most important shows of the 2010s. It was not only one of the first series to establish the binge model as a viable release format — for better or worse — but it was also groundbreaking thanks to its diverse cast and the massive range of storylines it juggled at any given time. At its best, the show was riveting, funny, heartfelt, and bold. At its worst, it was still a fun time.

Most notably, few shows have ever felt so distinct from season to season. Season 1 was the fun fish-out-of-water comedy centering firmly around Piper (Taylor Schilling). Season 2 was a riveting prison drama centered largely on the Black inmates like Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Poussey (Samira Wiley), and Suzanne (Uzo Aduba). Season 3 was a surprisingly relaxed, lighthearted period, while season 4 took a brutal turn in the other direction,...

‘Fall’ Stars Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey Reunite for ‘The Breed’ Remake
Image
With a sequel to the fear-of-heights thriller Fall on the way, Variety reports this week that the two stars of the 2022 movie will reunite for the upcoming remake of The Breed, a new take on the killer dog horror movie that was produced by Wes Craven back in 2006.

Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey will star alongside Page Kennedy (The Meg) in the remake that’s being directed by filmmaking brothers Sean and Bryan Furst.

The remake is described as “an unconventional reimagining of the Wes Craven cult classic,” though again the original movie wasn’t directed by Craven and isn’t quite a cult classic.

In any event, Curmudgeon Films will be producing The Breed. In the fresh take on the 2006 horror movie, “Violet [Grace Caroline Currey] is a rebel icon and badass on a mission to search for abandoned dogs on a remote island which leads to complete adrenaline-fueled terror.”

'I Didn't Like It': Orange Is the New Black Star Wasn't Happy With Character's Fate
Image
Orange Is the New Black was one of Netflix's most popular shows during its run between 2013 and 2019. Five years later, one of its stars has opened up on her character's unsatisfactory ending.

From the start of the show, Star Trek: Voyager star Kate Mulgrew played Red, a powerful figure in the prison who served as Head Chef and ran her own gang known as Red's Family. By the end of the show, Red is last seen suffering from the effects of dementia that had progressed after spending time in the Security Housing Unit (Shu). Per Collider, Mulgrew was present at Fan Expo Boston where she spoke about Red's fate, sharing how she didn't like it --- and she even told series creator Jenji Kohan about it.

Page Kennedy to play a country rapper in The Breed remake
Image
Back in 2006, Wes Craven produced a killer dog movie called The Breed (watch it Here), which was directed by Nicholas Mastandrea from a screenplay by Robert Conte and Peter Martin Wortmann and starred Michelle Rodriguez, Oliver Hudson, Taryn Manning, Eric Lively, Hill Harper, Nick Boraine, and Lisa-Marie Schneider. I thought the movie just slipped into obscurity, since I don’t think I’ve heard anyone reference it in the eighteen years since its release, but apparently it has gained enough of a cult following that it’s now getting the remake treatment. A couple weeks ago, we learned that Grace Caroline Currey of Fall is set to star in the film, and now Variety reports that Page Kennedy – who had to deal with man-eating sharks in The Meg and Meg 2: The Trench – has joined Currey in the cast of this killer dog redo.

Kennedy will be playing a character called Farmer John,...

Many of these TV dramas share that strength, whether or not they stuck the landing with their conclusions.

As the shows continue for several seasons, viewers become invested in where each character's arc goes. Because of the large ensemble, they find many journeys to be invested in and new scene-stealing characters to adore. From Game of Thrones and Succession to Lost and Stranger Things, these TV dramas feature some of the best ensemble casts ever assembled.
