10 WWE Finishers That Wrestlers Hate To Take
Image
Professional wrestling is far more physically demanding than some people give credit for, particularly in the eyes of non-fans who look at WWE from the outside looking in. To non-fans, the sport might be "fake," but most moves that wrestlers do in the ring can't be faked, and especially the pain behind them. While at least 90% of moves in a wrestling ring can be done safely, every move has its risks and drawbacks for the person receiving it, including some iconic finishers.

Finishers are a big part of the wrestling business, and every wrestler performs their own in almost every match. Some, however, are more painful than others, despite the way they look. Over the years, WWE superstars have expressed how much they hated taking a specific colleague's finisher move, and while some are to be expected, other entries in this list will come as a total surprise.

Review: WWE The Attitude Era Volume 3: Unreleased (Blu-ray)
In a move as inevitable as The Rock dropping a People’s Elbow on somebody at WrestleMania, WWE have released the third in their Attitude Era series, focusing this time on previously unreleased content. This gives this volume a slightly different feel to the previous two, but is a little hit and miss because of it.

What does work about this volume is drafting Corey Graves in to provide context and comment between each of the fifteen matches in the main feature. Graves brings an enthusiasm and knowledge to this role that others sometimes lack, namely John Bradshaw Layfield on the recent Us Championship release, and his comments are interesting and enlightening.

The choice of matches, too, is inspired with WWE digging deep to present several previously unreleased matches that are historically significant in the company’s history. The jewel in the crown of these has to be the first...

17 Reasons WrestleMania 17 Is The Greatest Wrestling PPV Ever
WWE.com

Wrestlemania 32 is a little more than a month away, and now that we’re firmly into Wrestlemania season, it’s time to look back at some of the great Wrestlemanias of the past. Specifically, it’s time to look at not just the greatest Wrestlemania of all time, but the greatest Pay Per View of all time: Wrestlemania X7.

Taking place 15 years ago on April 1, 2001, at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX, the show was nearly flawless from top to bottom (save a few hiccups here and there; Eddie Guerrero vs. Test comes to mind). Historically, the show was also a bookend to the most successful period in WWF/E history: the Attitude Era. It was a perfect blend of great matches, great storytelling, nostalgia, breathtaking spots, and some serious shocks.

Other Wrestlemanias have since given X7 a run for its money (Xix in 2003, 21 in 2005, and even 31 last...

Capsule Trailer: One Man Fights to Get Home From Space
While Capusle is a decidedly indie affair, the premise has me intrigued. *Supposedly* based on true events, I'd be curios to learn if there is any truth to that. Regardless, I live this kind of film.

Directed by Andrew Martin and co-written by Martin and

Synopsis:

1959: Guy is an experienced British fighter pilot who is in command of Britain's first manned mission to space. He has trained for this for three years at the height of the Cold War and now he is alone in space, suffering Hypoxia, with a malfunctioning capsule.

He has limited contact with the UK, some unusual communication with the Us and some unorthodox communication with Tyuratam deep in Soviet Russia. Can he get home? Who will help him? Will he make the right choice?

Full Content Listing For Upcoming Owen Hart DVD And Blu-ray
WWE.com

The full content listing for the upcoming WWE DVD and Blu-ray set on the life and death of Owen Hart has been revealed, courtesy of the Wrestling DVD Network. The list includes all chapter titles for the documentary feature on disc one, as well as all extras, including the full list of matches selected for the package.

Bret Hart recently commented on the documentary portion of the set, sounding very pessimistic about the chances that the documentary will do a good job telling the full story of his brother’s life. Bret believes that WWE is having to walk on egg shells to cater to Owen’s widow, Martha, who is not supporting the DVD release.

Bret told the Fight Network:

“I’m looking forward to it but I’m not really optimistic that it’s going to be a great job. Martha handcuffed them so much. I...

Narnia: The Silver Chair script is complete
The Chronicles Of Narnia take another step back towards the big screen, as a Silver Chair script is finished...

The fourth The Chronicles Of Narnia movie has taken a step forward, with the news that a draft of the screenplay has been completed. Screenwriter David Magee (who received Oscar nominations for his Life Of Pi and Finding Neverland scripts) Tweeted the news, writing "Completed the final draft of The Silver Chair today. I’ve had the immense pleasure to work on the project for over a year now. So fulfilling".

The Tweet is no longer visible at his account, but the folks at Narniaweb have been in touch with Magee, and he's confirmed the news.

There's still a long way to go on this one, of course. The Mark Gordon Company is the new custodian of the Narnia films, and it has to decide if it's happy with Magee's screenplay,...

7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 2007
WWE.com

The 2007 Royal Rumble PPV marked the 20th time that WWE held the annual January event. There was a nice sense of nostalgia about the show because of that reason.

There was a notable injury going into the show. Triple H was one of the biggest names in WWE and was rumored to win the Rumble in order to face John Cena at WrestleMania for the second year in a row. That didn’t happen because he suffered a torn quad for the second time in his career and he was out of action for the first half of 2007.

It was an interesting Rumble match because the previous few Rumble matches were about putting over some younger guys that hadn’t really been main eventers before. This time around it was about two guys in their early 40s that were already legends that decided they were going to steal the show.

WWE No Mercy 2001: 5 Awesome Things And 5 That Sucked
WWE.com

The 2001 edition of WWE (WWF at the time) No Mercy took place on October 21, 2001 in St. Louis, Missouri. It was the second WWE PPV that followed the horrific September 11, 2001 incident that surprised America and the rest of the world. They did their best to provide wrestling fans with entertaining storylines while also continuing the WCW/Ecw invasion angle.

It was a show that was historic because of one of the two major title matches. Chris Jericho challenged The Rock for the WCW World Title in a matchup that was the biggest match of Jericho’s career at the time and had people watching intently to see if he could win a major title for the first time.

The main event featured Steve Austin back in the heel role as the WWE Champion that had won the title back from Kurt Angle, who beat Austin for it at the Unforgiven PPV one month earlier.

WWE SummerSlam 2002: 5 Awesome Things And 5 Things That Sucked
WWE.com

The 2002 WWE SummerSlam PPV was held on August 25, 2002 in Uniondale, New York. The event took place at a time when WWE was going through a transitional phase.

They had just changed the company name from World Wrestling Federation to World Wrestling Entertainment and the roster was split in two with half the roster on Raw while the others were on Smackdown. The top draw Steve Austin walked out on the company, the second top draw The Rock was set to focus on his growing movie career and a number of young guys were being called up to the main roster.

One of those younger talents was Brock Lesnar, who debuted the night after WrestleMania and was main eventing this show after less than five months on the main roster. Other young talents that were called up to the main roster in 2002 were John Cena, Randy Orton and Batista...

Saturday Night Live (1975)
Recap: Saturday Night Live with Seth Rogen and Ed Sheeran
Saturday Night Live (1975)
It’s almost five years to the day that Seth Rogen last hosted “Saturday Night Live.” (Somewhat amusingly, his “Neighbors” co-star Zac Efron hosted the very next week.) Meanwhile, over the last five episodes, “SNL” itself has survived a rather rocky start to the post-Seth Meyers Era with a string of solid albeit non-classic episodes after the Jim Parsons-hosted debacle. Heading into its final break of the season, it will be interesting to see if the show ends on an upswing or downswing heading into the final stretch of this flawed yet fascinating season. As always, I’ll be liveblogging, assigning grades to each segment. As always, those grades are designed in a lab to make the maximum number of people on the internet angry. They couldn’t possibly be an inherently imperfect way for one person to sum up his or her thoughts about a sketch comedy show in real time.

Albert Re-Signs With WWE
International superstar Matt Bloom, who has been a big name in New Japan Pro Wrestling for years as Giant Bernard but is better known over here under the names Prince Albert, Albert and A-Train, has resigned with the WWE eight years after his release.

Wrestling Observer reports that Bloom will make his return to the company after next month’s WrestleMania 28, and that the current plan is for him to play the new henchman to John Laurinaitis.

The signing of Bloom is out of the left field as it’s rare the WWE sign up wrestlers who are 39 and especially those who didn’t hit the heights that were expected of them with the company previously. Though we have been hearing regular reports of Bloom impressing in Japan and as Giant Bernard is almost unrecognisable with his ring work which to be fair wasn’t bad in the WWE, he...

Medium Raw and a Wolf's Delight: A Movie Review
Director/writer: Andrew Cymek.

Cast: William B. Davis, John Rhys-Davies, Mercedes McNab, and Brigitte Kingsley.

Medium Raw aka Medium Raw: Night of the Wolf is a Canadian shot horror film. This feature was shown on television in 2010, with Anchor Bay Entertainment set to release this title on DVD August 16th. The film retells the ancient German legend of Little Red Riding Hood with a twist. Horror is always great for twist endings. Actor John Rhys-Davies is under utilized in his role and the updating of this children's tale is enhanced by the costume department. As well, Medium Raw introduces not one villain, but four. This is a slow building horror title, with some interesting action sequences in the final scenes.

This is the second film which has offed actor John Rhys-Davies in the first quarter of the film. The other film was Ferocious Planet (2011) and here Rhys-Davies plays Elliot Carbon.

Wrestler Martin Dead
Andrew Martin
U.S. wrestler Andrew Martin has been found dead at his Tampa, Florida home.

The 33-year-old tough guy, who fought under the name Test in the World Wrestling Entertainment spectaculars, was pronounced dead on Friday night.

The cause of death has not been released, but local authorities have ruled out foul play.

A neighbour alerted police after seeing Martin lying motionless on the floor of his apartment through a window.

Martin had past problems with substance abuse - at one point WWE officials paid for a rehab stint, even though the wrestler was not part of the organisation at the time.

He was arrested on a drink driving charge in 2008.

The Canadian dated wrestler-turned-reality TV star Stacy Kiebler.
