Born and raised in Northwestern Pa. A Graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, School of Communications and Film Studies. Has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film, Film theory, Film production. Got his start with (PBS) at WPSX television. Worked in post production for the Walt Disney Company at the Disney MGM Studios in Orlando Florida. Early work at the Disney Company was working on "Lois and Clark" for Viacom Productions and "The Mickey Mouse Club" for The Disney Company.
He left Orlando and headed west to the Post Group Los Angeles in Hollywood. While broadening my skills in post production, PJ developed an interest and an eye for color grading. Many projects came by the way of color in the late 80s and early 90s. Commercial work, music videos, episodic dailies and some time spent working on "Batman" animated series and "Pinky and the Brain" for Warner Bros.
After leaving The Post Group in the early nineties, he moved over to Pacific Ocean Post (POP) in Santa Monica. While at POP I was fortunate enough to work with artists such as Jackson Brown and Tom Petty early on. The evenings were filled with many music videos. There were many artists and genres; Master P, LL Cool J, Snoop Dog, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Tim McGraw, Miley Cyrus, YES, Blink182, LIVE, Dave Mathews and the Stones among others.
In the late nineties PJ was fortunate to be brought on at Company 3 for a decade. While at CO3 he helped earn an Emmy Award for my work on a documentary film titled "Amargosa" CO3 gave me plenty of exposure to work on commercials, feature films and many music videos featuring A list artists.
My opinion: I find color grading very rewarding and collaborative. I see myself as very enthusiastic when it comes to coloring and influencing the audience through the use of color and helping the director and director of photography to tell their story.
