The gritty action movie that started a franchise featuring genre icon Charles Bronson has gotten a new streaming home. Though it featured Bronson in the lead, the movie also notably featured the on-screen debut of actor Jeff Goldblum.

Originally released in 1974, Death Wish is now streaming on Paramount+. Directed by Michael Winner and written by Wendell Mayes, the film starred Bronson as Paul Kersey, a mild-mannered middle-aged family man living in Manhattan. When his wife and daughter are brutally attacked by thugs, resulting in the death of the former, Paul becomes frustrated with the police department's lack of justice. He takes matters into his own hands by taking to the streets as a vigilante, shooting criminals to death in the name of vengeance.

Good Times was a beloved '70s American sitcom on CBS, and while a significant number of the cast remains working, a few notable deaths of the show's actors have since occurred. The Evans on Good Times is one of the families that helped redefine what it meant to be Black on TV when the sitcom premiered in February 1974. It lasted for six seasons, ending in August 1979. Good Times was the first African-American two-parent family sitcom on television, following Florida and James Evans, two hardworking Chicagoans, and their family of five.

Unlike “Get Out,” the approach to racial comedy in “Shuffle” is much more flagrant. More than 50 years after he first graced screens, the iconic children’s television character Humphrey B. Bear is set to be brought back to life by OzPIX Entertainment in partnership with Deakin Motion.Lab’s newly-launched commercial services entity, Fika Entertainment.

Here’s Humphrey will be a mixed media production featuring a hybrid of live-action characters and various virtual moving sets, produced using Fika’s virtual production techniques. The creative team includes executive producer Julie Greene, former Ep and executive commercial director of Hi-5, and early learning entertainment specialists Dr. Catherin Martin and Helen Martin.

Greene and Fika CEO Kris Maric will both attend Mipcom and MIPJunior in October to talk to local and international broadcasters about the series.

Returning to the Proscenium Theater at the Drake in Center City Philadelphia from Wednesday, September 5 to Sunday, September 9, Puff is back for its third annual edition, with an extended feature program, special presentations, and much more.

In the 2018 edition of the Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival, genre fans will have the opportunity to check out eleven feature films — the biggest lineup in Puff history — as well as four short film programs.

He’s a sympathetic, non- maniac this time, if you don’t count his tendency to go into trances and smother random houseguests. Juanita Moore, a groundbreaking actress and an Academy Award nominee for her role as Lana Turner’s black friend in the classic weeper Imitation of Life, has died.

Actor Kirk Kelleykahn, her grandson, said that Moore collapsed and died Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles. She was 99, according to Kelleykahn. Accounts of her age have differed over the years.

Debuting on NBC in 1985, the 227 sitcom revolves around a group of middle-class people living in a Washington, DC apartment building. The series was designed as a vehicle for The Jeffersons' Marla Gibbs and also stars Alaina Reed Hall, Jackee Harry, Helen Martin, Hal Williams, Regina King, Curtis Baldwin, Countess Vaughn, Toukie Smith, Barry Sobel, Stoney Jackson, Kevin Peter Hall and Paul Winfield.

The 227 show lasted for five seasons and came to a close after 116 episodes in 1990. The final episode revolves around the plight of the homeless, a story co-written by Gibbs.

This morning, NBC's Today Show hosted a reunion of the cast of 227 and it was the first time that they'd been seen onscreen together in 20 years.
