In total, season 2 contains 11 episodes, with volume 1 consisting of six episodes and volume 2 sending the show off with the last five episodes. Episode runtimes haven't been revealed just yet.

10 best Netflix shows of 2024 that anyone can enjoy
Image
Netflix gave viewers a lot to watch in 2024, but these 10 shows stood out from the pack! Every year, Netflix offers a score of new programming. Sadly, some only last one season, despite a good reception and even acclaim. Others are, frankly, not that good and pretty forgettable.

Yet Netflix can also deliver an amazing show, one that captures the zeitgeist, becomes a huge hit, and even some awards acclaim. There are so many options to choose from, but these have to rank as the 10 best shows Netflix gave us in 2024 and prove why this remains the best streamer around.

Baby Reindeer Baby Reindeer

A sensation in every way possible, Baby Reindeer shocked viewers with a story even crazier as it was based on real life. It took what could have been a lurid story of a man stalked by a crazed woman to be a moving and emotional take on mental health,...

New Addictions: 2024’s Top TV Debuts
Image
It’s no secret that after the dual Writers and Actors strike, 2024 was finally the year to return to great television.

And the year had its fair share of spectacular debuts of new series that wormed themselves into our hearts with strong writing, great characters, and the ability to keep us coming back for more.

From broadcast procedurals to adaptations and streaming hits, we’ve compiled a list of the best new series of 2024.

(Mitch Hasseth/Disney) Shōgun – Hulu

The critically acclaimed series is easily one of the most talked about debut shows of the year, and there’s no way a list commending incredible new series is complete without it.

Based on the James Clavell novel of the same name, this adaptation does justice to the genre during an era when the medium is saturated with far too many of them.

And Shōgun stays faithful to the source material,...

The Unhinged Christmas Wish List: Gifts Only TV Characters Would Ask For
Image
A Christmas wish list is usually a kid’s thing, but since we’re talking about fictional, completely made-up characters here, why not?

Have you ever thought about what some of your favorite TV characters might like for Christmas?

For some, it’s not too hard to imagine. Others are a little more tricky.

(HBO)

After all, no one thinks Cersei Lannister is pining for a Plantgem Garden in a Box unless it comes with seeds for Water Hemlock or Deadly Nightshade.

Regardless, it’s an interesting and fun thought experiment throughout the holiday season when everyone is going bonkers over Walmart parking spaces and fighting in the ‘Return’ lines.

M134 Minigun – Joffrey Baratheon – Game of Thrones (HBO)

I know what you’re all thinking: Joffrey Baratheon could have won the Game of Thrones if only he had something better than a crossbow and a “sweet, caring” disposition.

If anything,...

One Thing Both Parties Can Agree On: TV Is a Uniquely American Medium
Image
We probably don’t need to tell you that these are tense times in America.

After a decade of simmering tensions that some have described as a “cold civil war,” we now face what promises to be an ultra-dramatic conclusion to a historically bonkers election season.

How did we get to this point? Can we ever rebuild what we’ve lost? And if so, how do we keep it from falling apart again?

(Copyright 2017, FX Networks. All rights reserved.)

These are profound and important questions — and we’re not even gonna attempt to answer them here.

What we will do, however, is explore a familiar patch of common ground in an effort to remind our fellow Americans of what still unites us.

We’re talking, of course, about the wonderful world of television.

Yes, TV — the most American of all mediums.

Obviously, it exists in every country on the planet,...

3 Body Problem SXSW Review: The Classic Novels Spring to Life
Image
Not long ago, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were at the top of the television world. Game of Thrones was a juggernaut and continuously won many Emmys. They had been tapped to help the future of Star Wars. Even HBO was moving forward on questionable projects, simply because their name was attached. However, even though Game of Thrones left the air almost five years ago, the creative duo has been missing in action.

Finally, 3 Body Problem gives them an opportunity to return to the television throne. With the help of co-creator Alexander Woo, the three men take on the mammoth task of adapting the book series. While 3 Body Problem is not a perfect show, it is among the best premieres of the 2023-2024 Emmy season. It’s also the big sci-fi showcase we’ve been waiting for from Netflix.

3 Body Problem. (L to R) Liam Cunningham as Wade,...

‘3 Body Problem’ Series Preview: Plot, Cast, Photos, and Final Trailer
Image
The final trailer for Netflix’s 3 Body Problem teases that “they” are coming and reveals the discovery in the ’70s of something called the “Wow” signal. There’s a lot going on in the final trailer, yet it still manages to pull off being as vague as possible. If you haven’t read Liu Cixin’s 3 Body Problem book trilogy, the trailer will hint at what’s in store without spoiling the experience.

Game of Thrones‘ David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and True Blood‘s Alexander Woo created the series and serve as writers, showrunners, and executive producers. Netflix’s Peter Friedlander, Vice President of Scripted Series, encouraged Benioff and Weiss to read the trilogy back in 2019, and both were immediately hooked.

“Making Game of Thrones was the greatest experience of our lives. But we spent 10 solid years living in that fictional world, so we wanted something that...

One Of The 21st Century's Best Films Comes From The Director Of Blonde, And It Turns 15 Today
Image
Director Andrew Dominik has a new film headed to select theaters, "Blonde," which will walk down the red carpet to Netflix a week from today to become the first Nc-17 streaming film ever released. "Blonde" has earned praise for its central Ana de Armas performance, but it's already proving as divisive as Dominik's last non-documentary film, "Killing Them Softly," starring Brad Pitt.

That movie came out ten years ago, while Dominik's filmography dates back even further to 2000 when he made his directorial debut with the Eric Bana-led "Chopper." There was a seven-year gap separating "Chopper" from Dominik's next effort, but his sophomore film was well worth the wait, and it happens to be commemorating its 15th anniversary today.

"Blonde" deals with celebrity and revisionist history — two narrative forces at work in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," which remains not only Dominik's best film...

‘The Incredible Melting Man’ Blu-ray Review (Arrow Video)
Stars: Alex Rebar, Burr DeBenning, Myron Healey, Michael Alldredge, Ann Sweeny, Lisle Wilson, Rainbeaux Smith, Julie Drazen, Edwin Max, Dorothy Love, Jonathan Demme, Janus Blythe | Written and Directed by William Sachs

If any movie deserved to be seen as one of the best worst movies of all time it would probably be The Incredible Melting Man, and no that is not an insult. The acting leaves much to be desired, most of the film is about a guy in make-up walking around the countryside and the story never really finds a right direction, but you know what? I like it, and more importantly this is a movie that shows that sometimes the makeup department (and more importantly, Rick Baker) can cement the movie into the memories of those who have seen it as something a little special.

“You’ve never seen anything till you’ve seen the Sun through the...

Paul Giamatti, Garret Dillahunt & Sarah Paulson Join '12 Years A Slave'
Update: Variety adds that Paul Giamatti and Sarah Paulson have also joined the film. Giamatti will play Freeman who "takes possession of the slaves upon their arrival in New Orleans" while Paulson will be Michael Fassbender's jealous wife.

There are few actors in Hollywood with the clout of Brad Pitt to ensure they line up with top talent for each outing, and if you're able to impress the actor and producer, all the better. That seems to be the case of the excellent character actor Garret Dillahunt, who first starred opposite Pitt as the dim Ed Miller in "The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford." He recently landed a small part in Andrew Dominik's furious "Killing Them Softly" and while he didn't make the final cut, Pitt wants his talent yet again.

Dillahunt is the latest to join Steve McQueen's "Twelve Years A Slave,...

Garret Dillahunt Says First Cut Of 'Killing Them Softly' Was 2.5 Hours, Not Sure If He Made The Final Edit
Director Andrew Dominik is no stranger to long first cuts. As anyone who followed the tortured post-production on the director's contemporary classic "The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford" knows, the director battled Warner Bros. over the length and tone of the movie, and numerous editors were brought in to try and cut down a film that reportedly originally ran more than three hours. Regardless, the resulting film was magnificent and Pitt remained one of the director's biggest supporters. They reteamed for "Cogan's Trade," which was recently retitled "Killing Them Softly," and it looks like the director had a lot of material to work with once again.

Garret Dillahunt, who played the simple Ed Miller in 'Jesse James,' is part of the large ensemble rounded up for "Killing Them Softly," but he reveals that his part was relatively minor and may not have survived the editing room.

Sienna Miller Pictures Partying With Dad Ed Miller
Sienna Miller
Sienna Miller did another performance at London's Theatre Royal in Flare Path last night before joining her father, Ed Miller, for a private viewing of an exhibit called "The Beatles Illuminated: The Discovered Works of Mike Mitchell" at Grosvenor House. It was a low-key evening for the actress after a wild and late Wednesday. Sienna partied in London with Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, and Tom Sturridge with dinner and then dancing at the Groucho Club, where the foursome reportedly stayed until 2:30 a.m. Sienna had some celebrating to do now that her lawsuit against News of the World has been settled. She received an official apology from its parent company, News Group Newspapers, on Tuesday, and can now look forward to a settlement in excess of $160,000. View Slideshow ›...

New Release: The Long Riders Blu-ray
The Long Riders, the outstanding 1980 Western film by Walter Hill (The Warriors) that details the final days of the notorious Jesse James gang, comes to Blu-ray disc on June 7 courtesy of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

The Jesse James gang makes their getaway in The Long Riders.

We’re always excited when a vintage Walter Hill action movie comes to Blu-ray, as it gives his always gorgeous mise-en-scène and cinematography (in this case, by 48 Hrs.’s Ric Waite) a chance to shine.

The nifty gimmick behind The Long Riders is in the casting of four set of real-life brothers in the roles of the sibling members of the James-Younger bank-robbing gang: There’s Stacy and James Keach (Waiting for Forever) as Frank and Jesse James; Robert, Keith and David Carradine (Dark Fields) as Bob, Jim and Cole Younger; Randy and Dennis Quaid (Pandorum) as Clell and Ed Miller; and Nicholas...

Exclusive Interview: Garret Dillahunt (Raising Hope)
Garret Dillahunt has come full circle. This versatile actor known for his off beat roles in television, film, and in the theater, has navigated his way through a colorful range of characters over the past fifteen years. Starting off as a comedic actor, Garret moved on to darker, more villainous roles such as the murderous Jack McCall in HBO's Deadwood (TV), the terminating Cromartie/John Henry on Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (TV), and the lonesome dim-witted outlaw Ed Miller in The Assassination of Jesse James (2007), starring Brad Pitt. Now he's starring in the new Fox comedy hit Raising Hope (TV). Garret plays young grandfather Burt Chance, who's son has a new and unexpected delivery in the form of Hope, a baby girl. The show has received rave reviews for it's funny, yet believable depiction of a modern-day dysfunctional working class family, and is backed by writer/producer Greg Garcia...
