On the 16th of February 1993, Count Duckula bade its audience ‘Goodnight out there…whatever you are’ for the final time. For five years from 1988, Cosgrove Hall‘s creepy and clever animated kids’ show about a vegetarian vampire duck had dazzled audiences with its madcap mix of farce, physical comedy and witty word-play.

While never as broadly popular as Danger Mouse – the spoof spy caper out of which it was spun, and which also featured David Jason as the voice of its titular character – Count Duckula built a steadfast core of fans. 13.1 Lost And Found

Supernatural is back for lucky season number thirteen. And what better way to usher it in than with a bouncing baby Lucifer? Well, he's not a baby and he's not Lucifer. We'll get to that later.

The end of season twelve was a monumental fight against the clock, with battles happening all around, as baby Jack was born. Crowley died a hero, Mary Winchester faced off against Lucifer, and Castiel suffered perma-death. The premiere picks up exactly where last season left off, with Sam looking into the menacing eyes of Jack – not a baby or a child but a young man already.

Supernatural always...

Although most of the specifics regarding the upcoming season of Supernatural remain shrouded in mystery, one thing’s for certain: Lucifer’s son, Jack, is someone we’re going to be seeing a whole lot of. In fact, Entertainment Weekly was able to confirm just as much by reporting that Alexander Calvert (Arrow‘s Anarky) will be a series regular.

Truth be told, I’m a little surprised to hear such news, mostly due to the fact that it took fan favorites such as Mark A. Sheppard (Crowley) and Mark Pellegrino (Lucifer himself) years to be granted such a privilege. That aside, this gives us a minor inkling as to how greatly Jack must factor into the producers’ plans over the course of the next year.

There’s a new boss at the Phoenix Foundation.

After the latest departure and sudden arrest of Director Patricia Thornton (Sandrine Holt), Phoenix Foundation has recruited needed a new director.

CBS announced actress Meredith Eaton will fill in those shoes as a series regular on MacGyver. She will play Matt Webber, the new director of operations and boss to Mac.

According to the press announcement, Matty Webber is a legend in the covert ops world. She was Jack’s (George Eads) superior for 18 months while on assignment in South America.

There’s also a little hint that Jack may not be happy to having her as a boss again.

“Matty Webber is a tough cookie and despite her history with Jack, she’ll have no problem finding her place in the Phoenix team. She may even teach Mac a few new tricks,” said executive producer and showrunner Peter Lenkov.

In 1965 the creators of Doctor Who, Sydney Newman and Verity Lambert, moved on to develop the next big thing for the BBC. Adam Adamant Lives! would be developed, in part, as a response to one of the Time Lord’s greatest opponents – Mary Helen Lovejoy Whitehouse.

To address Whitehouse’s criticisms about the decline of moral standards in TV, Sydney Newman imagined a series with a Victorian or Edwardian hero whose ethics could be contrasted with those of the swinging sixties. As legend has it, Newman was staring out of his office window at building works when he imagined the workmen unearthing a long lost hero (similar but surely preferable to the racist spaceship...

Chicago – Nothing bugs a critic more than obstacles strategically placed in the path of otherwise happy characters. Without the conspiratorial manipulations of the plot, these people would have no problem leading perfectly content lives. Instead of emerging organically from the characters themselves, the conflict swoops in like a speeding car fresh off the highway.

That’s more or less what happens in the opening moments of Glenn Gaylord’s “I Do,” as a suave, good-natured Brit, Peter (Grant Bowler), is hit by a car upon leaving a New York restaurant with his pregnant wife, Mya (Alicia Witt), and brother, Jack (David W. Ross). Since Jack’s primary character flaw is that he’s too nice, he spends the next seven years raising his adorable niece, Tara (Jessica Tyler Brown), with Mya, while putting his personal life entirely on hold. Fox has one of its better slates coming your way with the new season, especially if you take the midseason shows into account. Some of these shows may not jump out at you now as must-see, but some of them are going to take over, if I’m any judge anyway.

Clear showcase offerings Dads, Almost Human, and Us & Them are guaranteed to take off early. Almost Human has J.J. Abrams recognition to pull people in, though it looks to be a show that could flounder after a few episodes, even if I hope it doesn’t. The other two are going to become hits. Unfortunately, we have to wait until mid-season for the Gavin & Stacey remake.

Rake also looks like a winner, as long as the translation can be made to work as an Americanized product, and the show actually delivers what made the Australian original so brilliant.

While you might think the death of a principal character in a season finale would be the big game changer, it was a confession on "Revenge" that will turn a big part of the show on its head next season. The two-hour finale spent much of its focus on Conrad's election win.

It was a win somewhat tainted by the fact that he blew up his own campaign headquarters, in an attempt to kill Jack Porter. Unfortunately, though he probably doesn't care much about collateral damage, it was Declan who was there. He was looking for Charlotte, having recently learned that she was pregnant. Declan was seriously injured in the explosion, and died later at the hospital. What is with this show killing off one parent of every new baby?

You won't be seeing John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness in the "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special for one very simple (but surprising) reason: He wasn't asked.

“Everyone on Twitter tries to make it like it’s my decision, but the bottom line is I was not asked,” Barrowman told TVLine. “[The Powers That Be] don’t want to put Jack in it. And I know fans are really upset about it, as was I."

The Huffington Post's request for comment from BBC America was not immediately returned.
