Earl Maynard
Earl Maynard is a professional bodybuilder and wrestler, as well as film actor. At the age of 17, Earl was 5' 10" tall and weighed only 130 pounds. The athlete spent his entire childhood in Barbados, he left the island when he was 18 and moved to England where he completed his education. He earned a degree of M.S.F. in Physiotherapy in London. At the same time, he was interested in all kinds of sports, and when he served in the British Air Force, he was involved in wrestling. The British naval base was in Cyprus. It was there that he trained as a wrestler. But the navy lacked a gym or a wrestling training facility, so the Barbadian made do with whatever was available. At the time, wrestling promoter Gus Karras was vacationing in Cyprus. He noticed the young man and suggested he move to America. Earl agreed and by 1960 he had become a professional wrestler.

While he was competing professionally in wrestling tournaments, he also dabbled in bodybuilding. All of his bodybuilding achievements were achieved during his wrestling days. He later became known among wrestlers as 'Mr. Universe', having held the title twice. He also won the Americas Tag Team Championship twice. In 1965, he competed in the first Mr. Olympia competition, where he placed third.

In addition to his athletic achievements, he also became a famous film actor. He starred in more than twenty films.
