Ahsoka season 2: Ezra Bridger gets a makeover in first look image
Image
Production on Ahsoka season 2 kicked off earlier this year, and the official Star Wars site has dropped a first look at Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), who is sporting a new costume and a shaved face.

We still don’t know exactly what to expect from the new season, but the finale of the last episode did set the stage for something big, as Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) has returned to the main Star Wars galaxy. Dave Filoni, Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm, teased at Star Wars Celebration in April that there will be a lot of action. “Half of it is a really, really big battle,” he said. “There’s going to be a war in our Star Wars, like an all-out throw-down.“

It’s also been confirmed that Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker, plus Filoni teased that Admiral Ackbar will appear in the new season and will go “head-to-head with Thrawn.

Star Wars: First Look At Eman Esfandi's Returning Ezra Bridger From Ahsoka Season 2 Revealed
Image
There isn't a film or television-related Star Wars panel at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con. As a result, fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away will have to continue waiting for the trailers first shown at April's Star Wars Celebration to be officially released.

On the plus side, we have a first look at Eman Esfandi's new-look Ezra Bridger from Ahsoka season 2, displayed on the convention floor. In the season 1 finale, the Jedi finally managed to escape Peridea and reunited with Hera. However, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren were left behind, meaning it's down to Ezra to lead the charge against his fellow returnee, the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The trailer shown in Japan earlier this year was presented in the style of the classic teaser for The Empire Strikes Back, and established that Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren are racing against time to stop Skoll from unleashing a powerful new threat.

Ezra Bridger Returns With a New Look in First Look at ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2
Image
Ezra Bridger is back, and he’s looking a little different. Fans just got their first look at the character in Ahsoka Season 2, and this time, he’s showing up with a fresh, beardless look. Eman Esfandi returns to play Ezra, continuing the story that started in Rebels and picked up again in Ahsoka Season 1.

Via Lucasfilm

The second season of Ahsoka is set to stream on Disney+ and will have eight episodes. It takes place after Return of the Jedi, in the same timeline as The Mandalorian.

This new chapter finds Ahsoka Tano and her apprentice Sabine Wren stranded in another galaxy, while Grand Admiral Thrawn begins leading what’s left of the Galactic Empire against the New Republic.

Rosario Dawson is back as Ahsoka, a role she first played in The Mandalorian. Natasha Liu Bordizzo also returns as Sabine. Hayden Christensen is back as Anakin Skywalker, and Eman Esfandi continues as Ezra.

First Look: Ezra Bridger Returns in ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 With a New Look
Image
Fans of Ahsoka finally got their first look at Ezra Bridger in Season 2, and this time, he’s clean-shaven. The character, played by Eman Esfandi, is back with a new look and a big role in the continuing Star Wars story.

Via Lucasfilm

Season 2 of Ahsoka picks up where things left off, after Ezra and Grand Admiral Thrawn returned to the main Star Wars galaxy. Meanwhile, Ahsoka Tano and her apprentice Sabine Wren are stuck in another galaxy along with Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati.

The season continues the storyline that began in Rebels, which ended with Ezra and Thrawn disappearing together. The first season of Ahsoka basically worked like a fifth season of Rebels, and Season 2 will keep building on that story.

Ezra was once a street thief on Lothal before being trained as a Jedi by Kanan Jarrus. He sacrificed himself to take Thrawn away at the end of Rebels,...

Game Of Thrones Injuries: Kit Harington’s Mishap Was Wild, But His Co-Star Fell Off A Cliff
Image
Kit Harington In Game Of Thrones (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Game of Thrones had plenty of onscreen stabs and cuts. However, turns out, some of the real bruises happened far from the battlefield. Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow, got caught in an odd off-screen horror when he wounded himself, not during a combat scene in Got, but while trying to get back into his own apartment. Meanwhile, his co-star Rory McCann, who played The Hound, had a far more terrifying close call years earlier. While both actors dealt with physical pain, one had production tweaks made for him, and the other just kept climbing. Both, though, carried their injuries into Westeros like pros.

Rory McCann’s Cliff Accident Was Way More Dangerous

Back when Game of Thrones was still in full swing, Kit Harington had a mishap that had nothing to do with camera stunts or sword duels in Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones star Rory McCann joins forces with kilt company to produce new scotch
Image
Rory McCann, whom Game of Thrones fans will remember as Sandor "the Hound" Clegane, has joined forces with Slanj kilts, a kilt-making company based out of Glasgow, to launch a new company called Slanj Spirits. Its first release is the blended malt Slanj whisky, which came out just yesterday.

“I’ve always loved whisky, but Slanj hits different," McCann said in a statement, per Glawgow World. "It’s smooth, no smoke, no fuss - just a bold, easy-going dram anyone can enjoy. I’m proud to back a whisky that’s pure Scottish spirit, without the rules. It’s the ultimate Scottish toast to the world.”

McCann, in case you hadn't picked up on all the hints by now, is Scottish himself. I can't think of a more Scottish thing than a Scottish actor investing in a scotch company that was spun off from a kilt company. We've reached peak Scotland.

Ivanna Sakhno discusses why Rory McCann is suitable for the role of Baylan Skoll
Image
The loss of Ray Stevenson was a tough blow for the cast and crew of Ahsoka. The Baylan Skoll actor passed away shortly before the premiere, leaving everyone wondering about the future of his character on the series.

Stevenson's Baylan Skoll was a majestic performance full of grace and strength, and his passing left a void that had to be filled. As soon as the first season ended, most fans could guess that it would be nearly impossible to continue the series without Baylan, and someone would have to replace Stevenson. Baylan was never going to be an easy character to replace, but after months of searching, Lucasfilm and Dave Filoni cast former Game of Thrones actor, Rory McCann.

Recently, Ahsoka's Ivanna Sakhno, who plays Baylan's former Padawan, Shin Hati, shared her thoughts on the loss of Ray Stevenson and why she thinks Rory McCann will do justice to Baylan Skoll.

Ahsoka Season 2 Directors Reportedly Confirmed
Image
Some old and new faces are joining the Ahsoka directing party.

Per Inverse, several profiles on Independent Talent have revealed the names of four filmmakers working on Ahsoka season 2, including showrunner Dave Filoni, Jennifer Getzinger, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Anders Engström. While Getzinger previously oversaw season 1's sixth episode "Part Six: Far, Far Away," Howard is a veteran director of the Disney+ Star Wars era, having filmed episodes of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew respectively. By contrast, this will be Engström's first Star Wars project, with the Finnish director's prior body of TV work including Hanna, See, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Filmming on season 2 began in late April, with series lead Rosario Dawson confirming she was back to playing Ahsoka Tano shortly after this year's Star Wars Celebration in Japan. Details about season 2 still remain unclear, despite the finale focusing on Grand Admiral...

"Watching Him Has Been A Gift": Ahsoka Season 2's Baylan Skoll Recast Addressed By Star Ivanna Sakhno
Image
Ahsoka star Ivanna Sakhno addresses the Baylan Skoll recast and how it impacts season 2. Ray Stevenson, who played Baylan in season 1, passed away in May 2023, only months before the show's Disney+ debut. Since Baylan is still an essential piece of Ahsoka season 2's story, the decision was made to recast the character, with Game of Thrones' Rory McCann taking on the part.

Sakhno, who plays Baylan's apprentice, Shin Hati, worked closely with Stevenson in season 1, and is now working alongside McCann for season 2. Both characters were still on the planet Peridea in another galaxy when Ahsoka season 1 ended. Filming for season 2 is currently underway in London.

While speaking with ScreenRant's Liam Crowley about M3GAN 2.0, Sakhno was asked about whether she and McCann have discussed what their dynamic will be like in season 2. Sakhno reveals that McCann has "immense respect" for Stevenson's performance while "bring[ing] his own into Baylan's shoes.

Cersei Lannister had been on Arya Stark’s list of names for quite some time, and for eight seasons, fans of Game of Thrones expected a showdown between her and the queen—of course, in the most unexpected way.

Having spent two seasons in the House of Black and White to learn the ways of the Faceless Men, Arya gave us the impression that she would use this newfound skill to exact her revenge. Unfortunately, it did not happen in the show, but The Winds of Winter could deliver this.

Game of Thrones Fans Waited 8 Seasons for One Legendary Battle Scene, It May Finally Happen in The Winds of Winter

There is no thrill in watching Game of Thrones without bloody duels, and for eight seasons, we’ve waited to see the most anticipated revenge fight between two famed rivals—The Hound and The Mountain. Colloquially known as the Cleganebowl, this years-long theory that they would meet again in an epic clash could happen in The Winds of Winter. Yes, this event was only an invention of the showrunners as a fan service. Where we left off in the books, both brothers were seemingly on the verge of death.

Image
Game of Thrones icon Rory McCann will take over from the late, great Ray Stevenson as fallen Jedi Baylan Skoll in the upcoming second season of the Disney+ Star Wars series, Ahsoka. Following Stevenson’s passing on 21 May 2023, aged just 58, the studio turned to McCann to continue Stevenson’s legacy as the captivating new character, with the actor now saying to MovieWeb’s own George Edelman that it was an "honor" to take over the role and join the ever-expanding world of Star Wars.

McCann thinks it is a wise decision to continue Baylan's story, but he knows it won't be easy to replace Ray Stevenson's "big shoes," and he hopes fans will support him.

Game of Thrones Star Rory McCann Talks Taking Over Baylan Skoll Role

Ahsoka Season 2 Star Rory McCann Breaks Silence On Taking Over Baylan Skoll Role From The Late Ray Stevenson
Image
Ahsoka season 2 is currently shooting in the UK, and after season 1 left us with as many questions as it did answers, Star Wars fans are understandably eager to see where the story goes next.

The show is still expected to tee up Dave Filoni's planned Star Wars movie, with Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Mortis Gods likely posing a major threat to the Galaxy long before Supreme Leader Snoke and the First Order came along (though we wouldn't discount some sort of lead-in to the sequel trilogy).

Former Jedi Baylan Skoll is searching for...something...on Peridia. However, following the sudden death of actor Ray Stevenson in 2023, Game of Thrones star Rory McCann will take over the role.

Fans have reacted positively to his casting, and McCann believes Lucasfilm and Filoni made the right choice by having Baylan's story continue. The alternative would have been to potentially end his arc off-screen.

Game of Thrones vet Rory McCann is excited to replace Ray Stevenson in Star Wars: Ahsoka
Image
The first season of Star Wars: Ahsoka introduced us to Baylan Skoll, an ex-Jedi knight now working as a mercenary. He's not a pure-hearted Jedi who believes in truth and justice, nor is he a black-hearted Sith who loves chaos. He's somewhere in between, a new idea for Star Wars; who ever heard of an orange lightsaber?

In the first season, Baylan Skoll was played by Ray Stevenson, who brought a ton of magnetism to the role. Unfortunately, Stevenson passed in 2023. Rather than cut the character, Ahsoka recast him with Rory McCann, who Game of Thrones fans will remember as Sandor "the Hound" Clegane. Filming on the second season is underway as we speak.

“I think it’s the right decision to carry on his storyline, not just cut it off,” McCann told ComicBook in a recent interview. “We’ve done it before with other things. I hope the...

Baylan Skoll Recast Actor Confirms Nighttime Lightsaber Scenes In Ahsoka Season 2

The sad passing of Ray Stevenson means Rory McCann has been recast as Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka season 2, and the actor has just dropped a tantalizing hint about lightsaber scenes at night. McCann is undoubtedly the perfect actor to play a recast Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka, not least because he was a close friend of Stevenson. He's also a fantasy alumni, hailing from Game of Thrones, where he became well-acquainted with swordfights.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, McCann has finally addressed his recast - and hinted at lightsaber combat scenes.

‘Tornado’ Review: John Maclean’s Sophomore Feature Is an Overly Mannered Period Parable
Image
In John Maclean’s Tornado, a remote patch of British Isles highland circa 1790 becomes the convergent point for various genres, cultures, styles, and tropes. This methodical thriller is informed primarily by westerns and samurai films, finding common ground between them in an unlikely locale. Maclean’s previous feature, Slow West, was a similarly stripped-down genre exercise. Both are ground-level portraits of lives lived and lost on the fringes of history, but the earlier grisly fairy tale transpired in a curdled version of the oft-romanticized Old West while Tornado transposes such romantic frameworks to a drearily incongruous setting.

Maclean’s latest period parable begins with a young Japanese woman, the eponymous Tornado (Kôki), fleeing from a motley crew of Scottish marauders, led by the gruff Sugarman (Tim Roth) and his scheming son, Little Sugar (Jack Lowden). The extended in medias res opening—followed by a flashback sequence retracing the characters’ steps...

Even ‘Game of Thrones’ Showrunner David Benioff Couldn’t Believe HBO’s Multi Million Dollar Gamble With the Show
Image
When Game of Thrones first strutted into HBO’s office, it wasn’t swinging a Valyrian sword; it came armed with a lowball budget pitch. Yup, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss actually told execs it’d be cheaper than it really was. This was a bold move, considering they were about to unleash dragons, dire wolves, White Walkers, and battle scenes that make Marvel movies sweat.

Say what you will about the finale (we’re still side-eyeing Bran the Broken), but the show was a TV juggernaut, a weekly cultural event with global obsession levels. It turned actors into household names and gave us quotable lines, red wedding Ptsd, and spinoffs like House of the Dragon that still have us hooked. But back then? It was a massive gamble wrapped in a fantasy cloak. Even Benioff now admits he couldn’t believe HBO actually rolled the dice. Luckily, that...

Dawson captioned the post, "Week 1 Won! Not A Weak One." Fans of the franchise's elaborate fight scenes can expect to see more in the upcoming season.

Between Bail Organa and Baylan Skoll, I hope Star Wars keeps embracing recasting
Image
After the passing of Ray Stevenson and the premiere of Season 1 of Ahsoka, it was clear that Star Wars had a real tough choice to make. His character, Baylan Skoll, was instantly iconic, and it was clear from the season's cliffhanger that there was so much more to tell. However, there was a real question about how to do it. Star Wars had been embracing deep fake technology, and some actors, like James Earl Jones, approved using AI for their voice and likeness before they passed away.

While impressive from a special effects standpoint, there was something about these technological choices that didn't look or sound right. Fans have been mixed on these applications in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and The Book of Boba Fett.

So, with the announcement of Rory McCann stepping in for Baylan Skoll and the reveal that Benjamin Bratt now plays Bail Organa in Andor,...

Rosario Dawson Reveals Sneak Peek at Ahsoka Season 2 in New Set Photo as Filming Begins
Image
Ahsoka Tano was brought to live action by Rosario Dawson in the Disney+ series Ahsoka, which follows the adventures of the titular Jedi, in 2023. Recently, the actress posted a behind-the-scenes image that confirmed she had begun the much-anticipated second season of the series.

In an Instagram post, Dawson published an image of her shadow, clearly displaying the silhouette of her elaborate Ahsoka prosthetics and makeup. The post was captioned, "& we’re off…to galaxies far, far away….!" Multiple of Dawnson’s co-stars in the series, including Eman Esfandi, who plays Jedi Ezra Bridger, and Diana Lee Inosanto, who portrays the Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth, commented on the photo, calling Dawson a "Legend" and "Icon" and wishing her luck on this journey.

The first season of Ahsoka follows the titular, former Jedi Knight as she explores the galaxy, investigating the emergence of a threat to the vulnerable New Republic. Dawson’s performance...

Hayden Christensen confirmed at Star Wars Celebration last week that he would return as Anakin Skywalker. The actor played the role in several episodes of the first season, appearing as a Force Ghost who helps Ahsoka with her training.

Series creator Dave Filoni also revealed that Admiral Ackbar will appear in the new season and will go “head-to-head with Thrawn.” Filoni joked that it “took all my effort” to avoid including “It’s a trap!” in the script. “Because I’m like, I can’t do that, that would be so lame,” he said. “Because this guy can’t always get into traps. Ahsoka Star Rosario Dawson Announces That Filming Is Officially Underway On Season 2 With First BTS Photo
Image
We got word that filming was set to get underway on the second season of Ahsoka last week during Star Wars Celebration Japan, and star Rosario Dawson has now announced that cameras are officially rolling with our first behind-the-scenes production photo.

The shot isn't especially revealing, but it's clear from the shadow that Dawson is in full Ahsoka mode here.

In many ways, Ahsoka served as a live-action fifth season of Star Wars Rebels, and season 2 looks set to introduce even more elements from the fan-favorite animated series, with Zeb Orrelios (presumably voiced by Steve Blum) set to join Ezra (Eman Esfandi), Hera (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Chopper the droid as the Og crew of The Ghost.

Game Of Thrones' Creators Have One Major Regret About Their HBO Series
Image
It's not a particularly unpopular opinion to say that "Game of Thrones" didn't have the best ending (though I'll say that some people right here at /Film might disagree with me). The series, which is based on George R.R. Martin's novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire," came to a close after eight seasons in May of 2019 not with a bang, but with a piteous whimper. So, do showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have any regrets? Yes, apparently — but their regrets aren't related to the series finale "The Iron Throne" at all!

In a January 2024 story for The Hollywood Reporter, Benioff and Weiss said they had one major shared regret: that Mord the Jailer, a small character seen in the show's first season who was played by Ciaran Bermingham, never returned. "One thing I know I wish we could have done is there's the character Mord the Jailer,...

Star Wars | Ahsoka season 2 starts filming
Rosario Dawson
Rosario Dawson will return as Ahsoka Taso in the recently announced Ahsoka season 2, now in production.

It’s an excellent time to be a Star Wars fan. Not only is Andor – perhaps one of the best Star Wars productions in recent years – back for its final season, but Ahsoka is also returning for season 2.

The show’s star Rosario Dawson shared an image on Instagram confirming she was returning to a galaxy far, far away. Or, to be specific, “galaxies”. Season 2 of Ahsoka might officially be in production, but there is no word on when it might reach our screens.

Rosario Dawson Teases Ahsoka Season 2 With Behind-the-Scenes Pic: “Off to Galaxies Far, Far Away!”
Image
Originally planned as a miniseries, ‘Ahsoka‘ evolved into discussions about a second season, depending on the success of the first. After the show’s full release in October 2023, Dave Filoni shifted his focus from his upcoming ‘Star Wars’ crossover film to exploring a follow-up season for ‘Ahsoka.’

In January 2024, Lucasfilm confirmed that Filoni was officially working on ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2, aligning with his new role as Lucasfilm’s chief creative officer, where he oversees future Star Wars projects.

The first season of ‘Ahsoka’ ends with Ahsoka and Sabine stuck in a new galaxy, while Thrawn and Ezra return to the main Star Wars galaxy. Baylan finds giant statues of the Mortis gods, powerful Force beings from ‘The Clone Wars.’ Even if viewers hadn’t seen ‘The Clone Wars,’ the creators hoped the statues would still leave a strong impression.

Hayden Christensen and Rebels fan-favorites to return for Ahsoka season 2
Image
We got a glimpse of what to expect from Ahsoka season 2 at the Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. Rosario Dawson, who plays the titular character, joined showrunners Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau on the Live! Stage and discussed, among other things, the stories and characters of the second season.

Filoni announced that they will start filming season 2 in a week. Before Filoni delved into more details, Dawson confirmed that Hayden Christensen was returning as Anakin Skywalker. She reminisced about being in acting school with Christensen (which was also attended by Scarlett Johansson) and how naturally their real-life longtime friendship translated on the screen as everyone's beloved Skyguy and Snips.

However, Filoni made it very clear that he was not trying to tell more stories about Anakin. His inclusion in Ahsoka stems entirely from him being her former master.

"A very clear line I draw for myself is that Anakin's story was already told.

Dave Filoni Says "All Out" War Is Coming In Ahsoka Season Two
Image
The Star Wars Celebration event in Japan dropped tons of big news for fans of the sci-fi franchise. A Darth Maul animated series was announced along with other animated series, Star Wars: Starfighter, Shawn Levy's movie starring Ryan Gosling was announced, and more.

On top of that, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau spent a significant amount of time talking about the second season of Ahsoka. Exciting news included the returns of several characters, including the return of Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker.

However, the most exciting revelations regarding Ahsoka season two come in the form of story details from Dave Filoni. It sounds like this season will feature even more action than the first season. Filoni said the first half of the season will feature an “all out” war.

“I'll just say what it is ‘cause they came all this way, and I know what they really want to...

The Last Of Us Season 2 Recruited One Of HBO's Biggest Directors For That Devastating Second Episode
Image
This post contains major spoilers for "The Last of Us" season 2, episode 2.

The second season of "The Last of Us" just dropped its second episode, and HBO hired their own personal grim reaper to direct one of the most harrowing hours in recent TV memory.

Fans of the Naughty Dog video game series knew this bombshell was coming, but under the direction of Mark Mylod, a man who's helmed episodes of "Game of Thrones" and "Succession" (among other shows on the premium network), it was particularly brutal to watch the events of this episode. Not only did we see a massive assault from a veritable army of infected, violent, and starving cordyceps zombies on the protected human settlement in Jackson, Wyoming, but this is the episode where Joel Miller, the story's ostensible hero played by Pedro Pascal, is brutally murdered by Abby, a new-this-season character played by Kaitlyn Dever.

First look at Game of Thrones alum Rory McCann in Star Wars: Ahsoka
Image
The 2025 Star Wars Celebration ended today, and we got a boatload of news out of the event, most notably new looks at The Mandalorian & Grogu movie and details on Star Wars: Starfighter, a film starring Ryan Gosling to be set after the end of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. After a few years away, Star Wars is coming back to the big screen!

But there's plenty more Star Wars to come on TV, too. For instance, sometime next year, we'll be watching the second season of Star Wars: Ahsoka, which revolves around former Jedi Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) as she navigates the difficulties of life after the fall of the Empire. In the first season, she fought against a mysterious Sith lord named Baylan Skoll, played by Ray Stevenson. Stevenson's performance was praised, but unfortunately he died in 2023, just a few months before the first season of Ahsoka premiered.

Game of Thrones Stars Who Were a “Nightmare to Work With” Were Split Up From Filming With Each Other for 6 Years
Image
Game of Thrones served up dragons, undead armies, and more twisted family trees than anyone asked for, but behind the swords and chaos, something oddly wholesome was brewing. Long before Arya was flipping daggers and Sansa was outmaneuvering lords, 12-year-old Maisie Williams met 13-year-old Sophie Turner at a casting session in 2009, and the spark was instant. They didn’t just land roles as the Stark sisters; they practically adopted each other in real life.

From awkward teen years spent on set to stealing scenes and red carpets, their bond only got stronger. Matching tattoos? Check. Finishing each other’s jokes? Constantly. Total friendship goals, even when their on-screen characters were worlds apart.

While Westeros was burning, their sisterhood stayed fireproof. But behind all the love and loyalty, the show wasn’t exactly all hugs and hugs. Some cast tensions quietly simmered for years. And yep, it got bad enough that...

Hayden Christensen
Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in the second season of Ahsoka, now in development for Disney+. Speaking at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo on April 19, Christensen said his approach to the character continues to shift with each new appearance.

“I think my understanding of the character is just continuing to grow,” he said in an interview with Complex. “We’re getting to sort of explore different sides of Anakin, which I’m really enjoying.”

Christensen added that the Ahsoka series allows him to portray aspects of Anakin that have not been shown previously. “I’m really loving getting to sort of play the more heroic side of the character in the Ahsoka show,” he said.

Production on Season 2 is expected to begin next week. The new season follows the conclusion of Season 1 in October 2023 and the show’s official development announcement in January.

Star Wars finds new Baylan Skoll, but where have we seen him before?
Image
Baylan Skoll is the sympathetic Sith in Disney+'s Ahsoka series brought to life by the late Ray Stevenson. A former ally turned mercenary by the Dark Side, Baylan wields a lightsaber with deadly precision as he aids the witch Elsbeth in unlocking ancient secrets in the show's first season.

Unfortunately, the untimely death of actor Ray Stevenson has left the character's fate up in the air for some time now. However, a first look at his successor was just revealed at Lucasfilm's Star Wars celebration in Japan. In Ahsoka's second season, Rory McCann will be our new Baylan Skoll.

Who is Rory McCann? Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and The Hound (Rory McCann) in Game of Thrones season 8.

While he might be new to the galaxy far, far away, fans of George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones series know him as Sandor Clegane or simply The Hound.

Star Wars: Ahsoka's Rosario Dawson Reveals the Trickiest Part of Wielding 2 Lightsabers
Image
Ahsoka Tano may make maneuvering two lightsabers look like second nature, Star Wars: Ahsoka’sRosario Dawson said, while it is “awesome,” it is a bit trickier than it looks on the Disney+ series. Dawson, appearing at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, told Cbr’s Grae Drake just what it was like working with two lightsabers.

“Actually, doing two together is quite awesome, and I’m so used to that,” Dawson said. “It’s certain moves where I have to go over the montrals, that’s where it gets really tricky, because you start, you’re practicing, and you got the feet down, and then you’re keeping it close to the body,” she said.

Montrals are the cone-like horns on the head of the Tortuga species that act as extrasensory organs and help them to anticipate movements around them.

Ahsoka: Hayden Christensen Confirmed To Return For Season 2; First Look At Rory McCann As Baylan Skoll
Image
Confirming rumors that have been doing the rounds for quite a while, Hayden Christensen announced that he will return as Anakin Skywalker for the 8-episode second season of Ahsoka during the Disney+ show's Star Wars Celebration panel in Tokyo, Japan.

Christensen reprised his iconic Star Wars prequels role in the first season, appearing to his former Padawan Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) when she became trapped in the "World Between Worlds" after a lightsaber duel with Baylan Skoll (the late Ray Stevenson). Anakin served as a spirit guide, of a sort, forcing Ahsoka to confront her past and (potential) future.

Skywalker returned as a Force Ghost (presumably) in the season finale, watching over Ahsoka on Peridea.

Though filming doesn't get underway until next week, some production stills and concept art were showcased during the panel, and we got our first look at Rory McCann as Baylan. We got word earlier this...

Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2's Episode Count Revealed by Series Creator Dave Filoni
Image
LucasfilmCCO Dave Filoni confirms the episode count for the upcoming second season of Ahsoka.

Speaking to Collider at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Filoni discussed the ever-changing nature of the scripts for Ahsoka and how they evolve and shift as part of a collaborative effort on set. That being said, Filoni noted that filming for Ahsoka Season 2 starts in only a few days, meaning he has already completed every script apart from any potential last-second changes. Filoni also clarified that the second season of Ahsoka is "8 episodes" just as the first season was.

Ahsoka premiered on Disney+ in 2023 to a largely positive response from critics and audiences alike. The series stars Rosario Dawson as the titular Jedi, Ahsoka Tano, the former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker who reunites with her own former apprentice, Sabine Wren, to take a stand against the last remnants of the Galactic Empire.
