The Lincoln Lawyer writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez just broke the news many of us kinda sorta already knew but had hoped wouldn't be true. Mickey Haller and Harry Bosch won't be meeting onscreen despite their coexistence in the same fictional universe the books of Michael Connelly. In fact, Haller and Bosch are half-brothers, sharing a father, J. Michael Haller, and the two both work in LA. So you would think that bringing them together would be inevitable, but as Rodriguez told MovieWeb, "As of right now, we don't see any way that we can have a crossover."
She went on to detail the more behind-the-scenes IP reasons for this:
"It's just two platforms [Netflix and Amazon] owning two different properties, and it sucks. That being said, I mean, our version of Mickey Haller is maybe slightly lighter than the books, and I think we [could] figure out a way to bring Bosch,...

Quick Links The Lincoln Lawyer Becomes Netflix's Latest Sensation Mickey Haller's Surprise Connection to Harry Bosch
Hollywood is no stranger to adapting some of the literary world's most celebrated and unforgettable tales, from enduring classics like Romeo and Juliet and Pride and Prejudice to more modern-day iterations such as Reacher, The Notebook, and the spellbinding Harry Potter series. If there's one thing that audiences can't get enough of, it's a riveting crime drama with juicy twists and turns, and Netflix has made the gripping genre its bread and butter and has created some truly dazzling original shows.
The streaming juggernaut's latest success is The Lincoln Lawyer, which famously follows Los Angeles-based defense attorney Mickey Haller as he runs his practice out of the comfort of his Lincoln Town Car, driving around sunny California helping out his clients while trying to make a positive difference and assist those in need.

After watching Eron Eckhart’s Muzzle, I thought the actor was done and wouldn’t get any good movies like he used to get in his prime. However, after watching Rumble Through the Dark, I fell in love with his craft again. Eckhart had done action movies, but nothing came even close to his latest film. The film is raw and convincing, and you can’t help but feel his pain and the things he’s going through. Eckhart stepped into the shoes of Jack Boucher, a man drowning in debt. Jack did whatever odd jobs he could find to earn some extra green. When he wasn’t earning, you could find him in the casino, trying to double whatever he had walked in with. As already established, Jack owed a huge sum to the bank, which, if not paid in time, would risk the foreclosure of his house. However,...

"You still fight?" Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer for an action thriller called Rumble Through the Dark, another of these direct-to-vod releases coming up this fall. It's getting a one week run before being available to watch at home in November. Adapted from the novel titled The Fighter by Michael Farris Smith (but of course that movie title was taken by the Christian Bale boxing movie The Fighter from 2010). In the dark landscape of the Mississippi Delta, a bare knuckle cage fighter seeks to repay his debts in a final, desperate attempt to salvage the family home of his dying foster mother. Starring Aaron Eckhart as Jack Boucher, with Bella Thorne, Ritchie Coster, Amanda Saunders, Joe Hursley, Mike McColl, Derek Russo, Christopher Winchester, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. This looks stylish and brutal, though not that memorable, the same story we've seen in so many other fighting films. At least Eckhart looks good.

As Jock Blair reflects on a 55-year career as a writer, producer and production and development executive, he identifies the two biggest changes he.s witnessed in the screen industry.
One relates to money, the other to creativity.
.It.s incredibly difficult to finance production,. says Blair, who retired last week after 11 years as director . development at Screen Queensland.
.Television drama is now very conservative as networks are playing it safe,. he tells If. .In the 1980s things were pretty wild and you could produce things you can.t do now. As an industry we seem to have lost our edge creatively..
Blair initially joined Sq.s predecessor, the Pacific Film and Television Commission, for six months to help out in development but he liked the role so much he stayed.
He is proud to have helped the careers of multiple creative types and companies including Tracey Robertson and Nathan Mayfield...
