Jay North, known for his role as Dennis Mitchell in Sixties sitcom Dennis the Menace, died Sunday after a battle with cancer, Variety reports. He was 73.

By its very nature, Power Rangersis a goofy and bizarre series. This especially applies to early seasons, like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, where integration of Super Sentai footage was still rough, and the tone was more in line with Saved by the Bell than anything else. While the show evolved over time, there isn't a season without some head-scratching details.

The Disney Era of Power Rangers was ambitious and well-produced, but it was also as weird as any other era of the franchise. Within the show itself, there are still odd choices made regularly, and the series' infamously low budget often winds up haunting it. Other aspects of the Disney seasons won't be noticed just by watching them, and require outside knowledge to understand what makes them so strange.

Krillin is a master martial artist, and he now can destroy planets with powerful Ki blasts. Krillin may not be strong enough to beat many of Dragon Ball's notable villains, but he can easily defeat villains from other anime series.

Most of these anime villains possess supernatural abilities, but Krillin's Ki can easily overpower these abilities. Many of these villains are human fighters, and Krillin can evade most of their attacks with his superhuman reflexes, and his superhuman strength would enable him to knock several of them out with just one or two punches.

Netflix announces the addition of Hunter X Hunter's two feature-length films, Phantom Rouge and The Last Mission, to its streaming platform on November 1, 2024. The 2011 anime adaptation of Hunter X Hunter is massively popular and has left its audience clamoring for more content since it ended in 2014. While these films are not as in-depth as the canonical arcs of the series, they certainly do scratch the itch, and will soon be available for repeat viewings.

Hunter X Hunter is an ongoing manga series created by Yoshihiro Togashi, whose other notable work includes the Shnen masterpiece, Yuyu Hakusho. Hunter X Hunter is filled with magical beasts, hidden treasures, and danger lurking around every corner, and the strongest, most daring members of society enter the exclusive Hunter Society by passing a grueling entrance exam. Once Gon Freecs and his newfound friends learn to harness their immense aura into energy for combat, called Nen.

The fourth season of Demon Slayer is currently airing, and it is setting up the final showdown between the Demon Slayer Corps and Muzan Kibutsuji. The Demon Slayer Corps has been around for centuries, and it currently has about 400 members. The Hashira are by far the strongest Demon Slayers, but each Demon Slayer is a capable swordsman. The Corps is a competent fighting force, but there are a few characters from Bleach who can destroy it.

Most of the Bleach characters who can destroy the Demon Slayer Corps are Captain-level Soul Reapers who can use both Shikai and Bankai. A few Quincy possess abilities that can end the Corps in terrifying ways, and there is at least one Arrancar that can wipe out every Demon Slayer with his Resurreccion.

Exclusive: Amazon is lining up a TV series adaptation of QCode mystery thriller podcast Last Known Position and has set Jane The Virgin star Gina Rodriguez — who starred in the scripted pod — as lead actress and executive producer.

Last Known Position charts the fallout of a brand new state-of-the-art American commercial jetliner vanishing on its maiden voyage over the Pacific. The ensuing air crash investigation discovers evidence of a creature of the deep that may have been responsible.

Premiering in late December 2021, the podcast was created by writer Luke Passmore (Archenemy) and directed and executive-produced by John Wynn (The Rising Hawk). Passmore is attached to adapt and executive-produce the series.

Updated With Full List Of Scripts, Writers, And Reps: Catherine The Great, about the rise and life of the famous (sometimes notorious) 18th-Century Russian monarch, was the top vote-getter among 70 scripts chosen for the 2014 Black List of the year’s best un-produced scripts. The screenplay, by Los Angeles writer and producer Kristina Lauren Anderson, was announced as part of an hour-plus process on Twitter and YouTube this morning.

Each of the 70 screenplays on this 10th annual list was chosen by a group of 250 development executives, agents and other Hollywood insiders as among the year’s best un-produced scripts in a process overseen by Franklin Leonard of http://www.blcklst.com. Anderson’s screenplay received 51 votes.

Other notables in the list include writer/actor/director Kenneth Lonergan with Manchester-By-The-Sea, which is being produced by Matt Damon and Chris Moore. Randall Green had two scripts make the list, The Swimsuit Issue and Cartoon Girl.

Lionsgate will distribute the Mandeville Films comedy thriller.

You’ll Be The Death Of Me centres on two single New Yorkers whose romance is complicated by the intervention of a masked psychopath with a knife. Mark Hammer wrote the screenplay.

Katz is represented by Gersh, manager Jeremy Platt and attorney Kim Stenton.

E.L. “Evan” Katz has signed on to direct You’ll Be The Death Of Me for Lionsgate. Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman and Alex Young at Mandeville are producing from a script by Mark Hammer. The comedy thriller follows two single New Yorkers whose budding romance is complicated by the attention of a masked knife-wielding psychopath. Katz is repped by Gersh, manager Jeremy Platt and attorney Kim Stenton. The director’s film Cheap Thrills, about a scheming couple who put a struggling family man and his old friend through a series of twisted dares one evening, bowed at SXSW and stars Pat Healy, David Koechner, Ethan Embry and Sara Paxton. Pic sold to Drafthouse Films, won the Audience Award and was the critic’s pick for Best First Feature.

According to Deadline, the lead character is an ambitious chef who ventures into the terrifying underbelly of extreme cuisine. Underground will be produced by Ozla Pictures, along with David Cohen and Jeremy Platt.

With Centurion (review here) starting its limited theatrical run today, the timing is perfect for the first word to leak out about what's next for director Neil Marshall. Feeling hungry? How about taking a trip Underground with Marshall into the terrifying underbelly of extreme cuisine?

Details are scarce at this time, but according to Deadline New York Marshall is set to direct Underground, a David Cohen-scripted horror thriller set in the world of gourmet underground supper clubs. Of course the word "cannibalism" came up in Deadline's story, but all that's been said so far by the producers, who include Taka Ichise and Erin Eggers of Ozla Pictures along with Cohen and Jeremy Platt, is that the protagonist is an ambitious young chef who ventures into the aforementioned "extreme cuisine".

Neil Marshall has taken on werewolves, the post-apocalypse, spelunking with monsters, and now that “Centurion”, his latest film, is available for public consumption, Roman history. Now it appears that he is going to do battle with the twisted underground world of gourmet supper clubs in “Underground”, a horror thriller written by David Cohen. The protagonist is an ambitious young chef who ventures into the terrifying underbelly of extreme cuisine. The film’s produced by Taka Ichise and Erin Eggers of Ozla Pictures, along with Cohen and Jeremy Platt. I didn’t know there was such a thing as extreme cuisine, or even underground supper clubs, but Marshall didn’t wuss out on the post-apocalyptic cannibalism in “Doomsday”, so whatever they’re eating will probably be pretty twisted.

Currently promoting Centurion, which receives it theatrical release in the U.S today, Neil Marshall isn't wasting much time "cooking" up his next project. Titled Underground, no this is not a remake of Emir Kusturica's 1995 film, this is based on a David Cohen script that would probably make chef Anthony Bourdain feel queasy. To be produced by Ozla Pictures' Taka Ichise and Erin Eggers (Shutter), along with Cohen and Jeremy Platt, set in the world of gourmet underground supper clubs, this sees an ambitious young chef who ventures into the terrifying underbelly of extreme cuisine. Don't know about you guys, but I'm sensing a little of Géla Babluani's 13 Tzameti mixed in with Jeunet's Delicatessen.

Compared with other Aaa games, Crackdown 2 has an oddly minimalist opening. Cutscenes are short. Player customization takes all of eight seconds. Exposition consists of voice actor Michael McConnohie chiming in on occasion as the Agency Director. In brief news, Intrepid Pictures is gearing up to begin filming The Strangers Part 2 this September for Relativity. Meanwhile, after a decade spent creating special DVD content for the films of other directors, David Prior (who directed the awesome indie short AM1200) will make his feature helming debut on an untitled thriller for Intrepid Pictures. You can read about that inside. Intrepid principals Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans ("The Strangers") set Prior to helm and also write a genre thriller based on a series of terrifying events that occurred in Wisconsin in the 1990s. Prior is represented by Jeremy Platt at Spectacle and Greg Pedicin at Gersh. He has been a favorite of directors including David Fincher, Michael Bay, Peter Weir, Tim Burton, David Cronenberg and Guillermo del Toro, generating special footage on the DVD releases of their films.

Back from the grave, and back from the oblivion so many Geneon titles were consigned to, Gungrave comes to us this week, courtesy of Funimation, in an all new complete collection. The series is from Yasuhiro Nightow, who was also the original creator of Trigun, and it explores many of the same themes, but with a much darker twist.

The beginning of the story is a jarringly bumpy ride, in which we meet Brandon Heat — or rather, the man who used to be Brandon Heat — until he died. He has since been brought back, and goes by a new name: Grave, as in “Beyond The Grave”. At least, that’s what the creepy old mad scientist tells us. Then Grave goes for a walk, some monsters show up, and the shooting begins.
