Taylor Zakhar Perez Is Avoiding ‘Red, White & Royal Blue 2’ Spoilers: “I Want Plausible Deniability”
Not even presidential security clearance could get Taylor Zakhar Perez to spoil the upcoming Red, White & Royal Blue sequel.
After portraying the president’s son Alex Claremont-Diaz in the 2023 Prime Video adaptation of Casey McQuiston‘s LGBTQ romance novel, the actor explained how he guaranteed “plausible deniability” when it comes to details of the second installment.
“I purposefully said, ‘Please do not share with me anything until we are ready to prep it, because I want plausible deniability,'” Zakhar Perez told Elle. “I have not read a script, but I hear it’s very good.”
Last May, Amazon MGM Studios announced they greenlighted development on the sequel after the first became Prime Video’s No. 1 movie in its global debut weekend, holding the position for three weeks.

The best Samuel L. Jackson movies and TV shows prove that he is one of Hollywood’s most popular and beloved actors as he has become almost a character himself. Jackson had early success as a theater actor before he got a chance to move into movies with small roles in Spike Lee’s School Daze and Do the Right Thing. From there, he skyrocketed to the top of Hollywood, with his first major breakout role in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction as Jules Winnfield.
That performance made him a major star and he never looked back. Jackson has appeared in the Star Wars franchise as Mace Windu in the prequel series and took on the overarching role of Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he has appeared in countless movies and TV shows over the MCU’s entire run. He also appeared in giant franchise movies like Unbreakable and Jurassic Park,...

Following its huge success with Red, White & Royal Blue, the adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s bestseller, which last year came in as one of its top three most-watched romantic comedies of all time, Amazon MGM Studios has greenlighted development on a sequel, with stars Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez set to return.
After making his feature debut with the first film, Matthew López has returned to write the script for the sequel — this time, alongside McQuiston. Berlanti Schechter Films’ Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will return to produce the film, joined by the banner’s Michael McGrath, as well as López. McQuiston will executive produce.
Released last August, Red, White & Royal Blue follows Alex Claremont-Diaz (Perez), who upon his mother’s (Uma Thurman) election as President, is promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, brilliant — his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House.
