The world of cinema seems to be going through yet another transformation amid remakes of classic stories for modern audiences. The upcoming Glen Powell starrer movie The Running Man will be the new adaptation of Stephen King’s The Running Man following the 1987 one.
After some recent hits, Glen Powell is stepping into the role originally played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The new The Running Man may have all the ingredients of a remake, but it certainly is a remake that maintains the core elements of the source.

Edgar Wrights The Running Man is shaping up to be one of the finest Stephen King adaptations yet, at least when it comes to its cast. Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, Katy OBrian, and Lee Pace have all signed on to appear in the production, and now we have word that more heavyweights are joining in on the fun. The latest name entering the fray is Jurassic Park III and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes star William H. Macy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Macy will join the ever-growing cast as "a man who helps [Powell's] Richards when he is on the run." This makes Macy another new addition following the announcement over the weekend that Michael Cera will reunite with his Scott Pilgrim vs. the World director for the first time in 14 years on a live-action movie.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Cera is joined by Emilia Jones (Locke & Key) in The Running Man, which will start shooting in London early next year, with an expected release date of November 21, 2025. Based on the Stephen King novella of the same name, the film is said to be a more faithful adaptation than the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie was, and stars Powell as Ben Richards, a distressed man...

Since his return to acting, Arnold Schwarzenegger has split his time equally between starring in a handful of original action movies and planning sequels to some of his biggest hits. With Terminator Genisys the first sequel to officially be wrapped, awaiting its release next summer, the legendary muscle man may be turning his attention to another long-awaited follow-up, a sequel to The Running Man.
During a Q&A in England over the weekend, Arnold Schwarzenegger hinted that a Running Man 2 may very well be happening sometime in the near future. He told the crowd in attendance:
"It's an honor to be asked back after all these years, back to the franchise. This is really wild... They're doing a Twins sequel, to be called 'Triplets' I've read the first draft. There's rumblings of a new 'Running Man' movie, so it's a great honor to be asked back... [Getting in shape for these sequels] comes back to bodybuilding,...

The Running Man
Directed by Paul Michael Glaser
Written by Steven E. de Souza
USA, 1987
Amid a maelstrom of bullets, a trio of prisoners orchestrate a break out. William Laughlin (Yaphet Kotto) and Ben Richards (Arnold Schwarzenegger) take sentry duty, shooting down advancing guards while Harold Weiss (Marvin J. McIntyre) tries to disable the security system that prevents them from escape.
Weiss keeps inputting the code, “653-9x” into the computer to no avail. As the guards close in, desperation mounts. He keeps repeating the code over and over. Desperation turns to panic until, miraculously, his dedication pays off. The system is disabled. They flee.
This repetitious formula might’ve worked for Weiss, but it doesn’t work nearly as well for Paul Michael Glaser’s The Running Man. A film that sacrifices substance for showmanship, The Running Man is a simple premise contrived into a series of acutely different,...

1986's Short Circuit is a cute, sometimes funny riff on E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial that never feels dangerous or all that threatening given the fact that it basically falls in line with The Terminator's backstory in terms of non-sentient beings gaining intelligence. Johnny 5 becomes self aware, but he wants to love, not destroy the human race.
Director Tim Hill, whose last project was the fluffy Easter themed comedy Hop, is hoping to change that with his upcoming Short Circuit remake. Sure, it will still be a sci-fi comedy about a lovable robot that becomes self-thinking, but he wants the movie to feel dangerous. He wants the themes of Short Circuit to play bigger, and have more relevance in terms of these times of War we currently live in.
"The thing that makes it so relevant is that we live in this age of robots, particularly when it comes to war.

Since the beginning of this year, there have been many rumors about Arnold Schwarzenegger's next move as an actor. In early February, he was said to be considering reprising his role as the unstoppable cyborg of the Terminator franchise, with the Fast Five team of director Justin Lin and screenwriter Chris Morgan bringing him back for this fifth outing. In January, he explained that he was looking at three possible scripts, of which he didn't reveal too many details.
What is Arnold Schwarzenegger actually considering? Here is what he had to say about a new Terminator and those three scripts.
"Well, first of all it's more 15 films, obvious ones from The Terminator to...
