Beth McGuire has worked as a dialect and vocal coach in film and television, on and off Broadway, as well as in regional theatre for over 35 years. Recent on camera work includes Sinners, Black Panther, Lady in the Lake,
Us, and The Wild Robot. Beth was a Professor in Acting and Director of Speech & Dialects at Yale School of Drama (DGSD) from 1999-2022, and she has been a guest lecturer at NYU Tisch grad acting and at the Juilliard School. Her book, African Accents: A Workbook for Actors, is the first practical comprehensive analysis of the genre. She is a certified teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework and a member of SAG-AFTRA, Actors' Equity, and the Actor's Center in NYC.
