Sydney, Jun. 2: Warner Bros has reportedly stopped paying the medical bills of Ed Helms' stunt double Scott McLean, who has permanent brain damage and ongoing seizures after his head was smashed during a badly timed stunt involving an oncoming vehicle in 'The Hangover Part II.'
After the accident McLean remained in coma for months; his partner of 15 years, Raelene Chapman, said that she has been left disappointed, upset and disgusted with this, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Bradley Cooper's Australian stunt double Ashley Fairfield said that he was one of the other stunt performers in the car with Scott when the accident occurred and was appalled that WB turned their backs on their agreement to pay for all his medical.

Warner Bros representatives look to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers case to defend film's fake Vuitton brand
Studio Warner Bros has already been forced to settle with a tattoo artist who said comedy blockbuster The Hangover Part II stole his design, along with a stuntman who claimed he suffered brain trauma during a stunt gone wrong. Now it has gone to court to fend off claims from the fashion house Louis Vuitton that the sequel to Todd Phillips's 2009 sleeper hit, about a group of friends who travel to Thailand for a highly eventful stag do, created consumer confusion by depicting a counterfeit handbag branded a "Lewis Vuitton".

The Wolfpack are in the clear—and this time it wasn't for gambling, drinking or stealing a tiger. Warner Bros. has resolved separate lawsuits filed against it in recent months over its hit sequel, The Hangover Part II: the first filed by a stuntman left with severe brain trauma after being injured on set; and the second brought by a guy who claimed the filmmakers stole his life story to use as the basis for the blockbuster's plot. According to the Hollywood Reporter, court records reveal that both parties voluntarily dismissed their complaints, though it's unclear whether they had reached a private settlement with the studio. The Hangover Part II Copyright Lawsuit Dropped
A California man has withdrawn his lawsuit against the studio bosses behind The Hangover Part II - just two months after alleging the hit comedy was based on his own experiences.
Michael Alan Rubin turned the events of his hellish honeymoon in Asia into a script entitled Mickey and Kirin, and he took action against the project's officials in October for reportedly infringing on his copyright by basing The Hangover sequel on his work.
But now Rubin has voluntarily dismissed the suit, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
As WENN went to press, it was not yet known if the two parties had reached a private settlement.
This marks the latest legal triumph for The Hangover Part II bosses - Ed Helms' acting double, Scott McLean, also recently dropped his lawsuit against studio executives after claiming he suffered significant brain trauma on set during a stunt gone wrong.
Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis also star in the hit franchise.

Injured The Hangover Stuntman Transferred To Australian Hospital
A stuntman injured on the set of The Hangover sequel has been transferred to a hospital in his native Australia, two months after the movie accident in Thailand.
Action star Scott McLean, whose film credits include The Matrix and Ghost Rider, was shooting a daring road stunt as a body double for actor Ed Helms on 17 December when a truck and a car collided.
He was taken to a local medical centre to receive treatment for a severe brain injury and later moved to a hospital in Bangkok, where he was reportedly placed in a medically-induced coma.
McLean's progress has been slow, but he was recently transported to a hospital in Sydney, where his friends and family have been keeping a bedside vigil.
His partner, Raelene Chapman, reveals McLean, 40, is conscious and he was able to smile for the first time since the accident last week.
She tells The Hollywood Reporter, "One of his friends walked in the room, and his eyes lit up. And there was that infectious smile for the first time. It was the best thing I've ever seen."
However, the longterm effects of the horrific accident won't be known for months - and Chapman and the McLean family are just hoping for the best.
She says, "Great things can come. We've just got to hope he's one of those miracle stories."
Bosses at Warner Bros., the studio behind The Hangover movie, have covered all medical and transportation costs as the stuntman continues to receive advanced care.

The run of shit luck on The Hangover II is insane, almost like Mel Gibson put a hex on production when they cut his cameo. (Someone should look into that.)
Like Brandon Lee's death on the set of The Crow (except way less badass and way more senseless), Scott McLean, a stuntman from Queensland working on the set of The Hangover II, was nearly killed in a car chase sequence gone wrong. Warner Brothers released this statement yesterday:

While Todd Phillips' The Hangover was one of the pleasant surprises of 2009 - in that it was a comedy that was actually funny and then that the actually funny comedy was rewarded by becoming a huge financial success - the in-production sequel is proving to be rather troubled.
On a PR front there was, of course, the Mel Gibson cameo debacle that ended with members of the cast and crew simply refusing to work with the man and Gibson's prompt replacement by Liam Neeson.
And now, on a much more practical and substantial level there are the sever injuries suffered by stunt man Scott McLean while working on the film. While details are just coming out now the incident occurred on December 17th when McLean was leaning out the window of a moving truck when he was struck by an oncoming car. The car was a planned part of the stunt,...

The Spider-Man Broadway musical has been making all the headlines for injuring its performers, but not to be outdone, The Hangover 2 has managed a major accident as well. According to Variety, Australian stunt man Scott McLean was seriously injured in a car accident that was part of a planned stunt involving a car and a truck. McLean was taken by ambulance to a Bangkok hospital, and has been put into a "medically induced coma" to help him speed up his recovery. Apparently the outlook is "positive" for his recovery. Though the vast majority of people doing stunts have long and healthy careers in the movies, car-related stunts can be especially dangerous on movie sets. An extra was critically injured earlier this year on the set of Transformers: Dark of the Moon when a tow cable snapped and smashed through her car windshield, and camera technician Conway Wickliffe died while filming...

Update: I'm told this was a "planned, choreographed, rehearsed" stunt sequence, and that the car crashing into the truck was "entirely accidental" and not part of the stunt. The doctors have Scott McLean in an induced coma to aid in his recovery and that the info received by the studio so far on his status indicates he will recover from the injury. No actors were on set at the time of the accident. Previous: Warner Bros has stated: "There was an accident involving a truck and a car on the second unit set of The Hangover Part II near Bangkok, Thailand, at approximately 3:00 Am on Friday, December 17 (Bangkok time). Hollywoodnews.com: We’re not going so far as to say the “Hangover 2” production is cursed – it’s certainly no “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” — but the sequel has had a fair share of problems since getting underway.
The latest involves stuntman Scott McLean, who currently is in a Thai hospital recovering from serious injuries after a high-speed stunt on the film’s set went wrong, according to the Daily Telegraph. Pop Eater goes one step further, reporting that McLean is “in a coma.”
The Telegraph reports that two cars “travelling at high speed crashed into each other in Bangkok as part of the stunt.”
“Hangover 2” made headlines earlier this year when Mel Gibson was tapped by director Todd Phillips to play a tattoo artist in a cameo, but an uproar from the cast and crew reportedly led to Gibson’s dismissal. He was replaced by Liam Neeson.
